Chapter 172 Two Women Meet

Women are forever emotional beings.

What they seek is value, whether spiritual or material. As long as it brings them happiness, that is value.

Jiang Yuxin is not a gold digger. While she likes the house Li Chonglou gifted her, she values the responsibility and importance he places on her even more.

Who wouldn't like such a man?

"Perhaps he really is reborn?" As her eyes closed, a thought flashed through Jiang Yuxin's mind.

She anticipated their lips meeting.

Gazing at those alluring red lips, Li Chonglou found himself mesmerized.

Jiang Yuxin was exquisitely beautiful, with an almost chilling aura.

But when this iceberg melted, she was like a life-giving spring, nourishing all things.

So succulent, so sweet.

Now, this spring water was finally about to enter his mouth.

Despite his vast experience, his heart pounded uncontrollably.

The hands supporting Jiang Yuxin's shoulders slid subtly to her back, encircling her.

He lowered his head, slowly moving towards her red lips.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Just then, the door was suddenly knocked upon.

The spellbound pair was instantly awakened. Jiang Yuxin, like a startled rabbit, her beautiful eyes filled with a hazy glow, blushed like a ripe apple.

She quickly lowered her head and stepped back.

"Who is it? What terrible timing!" Li Chonglou sighed inwardly, cursing.

After all the effort to build up the atmosphere with his wife, being interrupted meant starting all over again.

How annoying.

Despite his deep dissatisfaction, he reluctantly walked to the door and opened it.

At the door stood a poised beauty, impeccably dressed in a black women's suit that exuded confidence.

Her hands were clasped in front of her. Upon seeing Li Chonglou, a hint of mischief flickered in her eyes, as if to say, "You're in big trouble."

"Yunxu? What are you doing here?" Li Chonglou expressed his surprise.

He hadn't called her.

"I invited her," Jiang Yuxin's eyes gradually cleared, though the blush on her cheeks would take time to fade.

Her heart was turbulent, yet she maintained an air of composure.

On her way, she had messaged Lü Yunxu.

She mentioned going to Huashan Villa with her husband to view a house.

Huashan Villa was a Lü family property, a fact her partner, Lü Yunxu, would naturally know.

She had called Lü Yunxu to completely resolve the misunderstanding Li Chonglou had with her.

Who would have thought she would arrive precisely at this moment?

"You two?" Lü Yunxu immediately sensed the awkward atmosphere, especially from Jiang Yuxin's demeanor, which was impossible to hide.

She instantly realized she might have interrupted a private moment between the couple.

She felt a mix of amusement and a pang of sadness.

Li Chonglou was the object of her admiration, mysterious and special.

He was the most unforgettable man she had ever met.

But he already had a family, so her admiration had to remain hidden.

Yet, witnessing this scene brought a touch of heartache.

"Please come in." Li Chonglou didn't explain and invited Lü Yunxu inside.

Since Jiang Yuxin had invited her, it meant she didn't want the misunderstanding to deepen. This was a good opportunity to clarify things.

"Yunxu, I'm truly sorry to have bothered you during your busy schedule." Jiang Yuxin quickly composed herself, walked to the door, took Lü Yunxu's hand, and acted intimately.

There was no hint of any misunderstanding.

"My home is right here. I just came back to grab something. There's nothing to apologize for," Lü Yunxu chuckled.

The two women's relationship appeared to be very harmonious.

They struck up a conversation, seemingly forgetting Li Chonglou's presence.

This scene left Li Chonglou amused and bewildered.

In such a short time, they had become like close sisters.

Women, even with his vast life experience, he still couldn't fully comprehend their thought processes.

"Ahem, Yunxu, Yuxin invited you here because she wanted to confirm our relationship," Li Chonglou cleared his throat after a moment. "It seems that's no longer necessary."

"Our relationship?" Lü Yunxu feigned ignorance. "Yuxin, you haven't misunderstood, have you?"

"It's also my fault. Brother Li has helped my family so many times, and I never told you."

"I was afraid you might overthink things."

Jiang Yuxin offered a slightly awkward explanation. "I didn't overthink it; he was just too nervous."

"He even started talking about stories of rebirth with me."

"If it weren't for you, perhaps I wouldn't have had the chance to see this side of him."

"Oh, tell me, how did he help you appraise treasures?"

"Should we talk about it here? Let's go to my place. There's no place to sit at your house, and I have tea there. Let's go!" Lü Yunxu grabbed Jiang Yuxin's arm and they walked out.

Women could so easily leave Li Chonglou aside.

Li Chonglou scratched his head and decided not to follow.

He could tell Lü Yunxu was trying to ease the awkwardness, and it would be insensitive to intrude.

Since Wu Hao and the others had moved in nearby, he decided to take the opportunity to check on the project's progress.

He bid them farewell and closed the door.

He dialed Wu Hao's number and found the house using the address.

Wu Hao, impeccably dressed, waited at the door and escorted the unfamiliar boss into his new home.

The villa was already fully furnished but lacked furniture.

Wu Hao had converted the first floor into an office space, creating individual cubicles for the programmers.

The second floor was transformed into a conference room and offices.

"This is well done," Li Chonglou said, giving a thumbs-up as he observed the now-larger team diligently working.

"You've returned at the perfect time. The app is almost complete and is currently undergoing testing," Wu Hao excitedly led Li Chonglou to the second-floor conference room and poured him a cup of coffee. "Marketing and publicity have already kicked off. Three major companies are interested in collaborating with us and have sent representatives to Qin Province."

"I wanted to tell you when I called last time, but the product wasn't out yet."

"You decide. I need your input."

In just a few days, Wu Hao's demeanor and aura increasingly resembled that of a businessman.

When discussing business matters, the former unrestrained attitude was gone.

"We don't need to connect with them early on, do we? We're not short on money right now," Li Chonglou frowned, confused. "I don't understand business operations, but once we connect, will we still have complete control over the project?"

"I've considered that. If we can't have complete control, then we shouldn't proceed," Wu Hao replied, nodding. "Their people are already in Qin Province; they were arranged accommodation yesterday."

"Since you're here, how about we meet one of them first?"

Li Chonglou, who had intended to refuse, saw the eagerness and a hint of expectation in Wu Hao's eyes.

After a moment's thought, he agreed.

If a major internet company was indeed interested in the project, collaboration would be beneficial.

After all, they possessed significant resources and intellectual property.

In this era, simply burning through money made it difficult to stand out.

Meeting them wouldn't take much effort.

If it didn't work out, they could simply not cooperate.

Seeing this, Wu Hao immediately contacted the representative, arranging the meeting at the company.

Less than half an hour later, a middle-aged man, carrying a briefcase and walking with his head held high, strode into the villa without even glancing at Li Chonglou and his group.

He looked around, his eyes filled with blatant disdain. "You work in a place like this?"

"It doesn't look professional at all. It's practically a small workshop."

"I can't believe I came all the way to this dump thinking you had potential. I'm disappointed."

His words were unmistakably condescending.
