Li Chonglou kept a close eye not only on the target but also on the two suspicious individuals.
The other two became increasingly curious about him.
In their eyes, Li Chonglou hadn't done much; at times, he'd even shared dinner with them at roadside stalls, yet he never lost track of their target.
This ability was too impressive!
Seeing that the target had checked into a cheap motel and the two suspicious men hadn't made a move yet, Li Chonglou withdrew his gaze.
He happened to notice the peculiar looks the two were giving him.
"What's wrong?"
The two awkwardly averted their eyes.
A Dong asked, "Aren't you afraid of losing our target while we eat here?"
Li Chonglou paused. He couldn't possibly reveal his Heavenly Eye Perspective ability to these two. Besides Old An and Old Lin, very few people knew about it, making it one of his greatest trump cards.
After some thought, Li Chonglou took out his phone and opened the map.
"From the map, there's only one small motel in his direction, so I assume he's checked in."
A Hai, standing nearby, also asked, "Aren't you afraid that other people watching him might make a move first?"
Li Chonglou smiled faintly. "No, they are also under my surveillance."
The two froze mid-bite, then exchanged shocked glances.
When did this happen?
This time, however, Li Chonglou didn't explain further. Sometimes, silence prompts others to fill in the blanks themselves, often with more plausible explanations than you could invent.
However, Li Chonglou added a final remark: "Actually, there's no need to worry too much. That guy has survived this long, so the evidence he holds should be substantial enough to make his handlers hesitant."
As he spoke, Li Chonglou subconsciously looked up at the target again and suddenly noticed a woman approaching the target's door, holding two bottles of water.
She was probably delivering them. Some motels don't even proactively provide water unless you request it.
Li Chonglou didn't think much of it and continued eating his noodles.
He had to admit, the noodles here were tastier than those in Shangjing. Perhaps it was the generous use of ingredients in this smaller town, making the meal very satisfying.
He glanced again at the two suspicious men who were also staying nearby. One was typing on a laptop, but the contents of the screen were hidden from view.
The other was lying on the bed, on the phone.
Both men were in the same motel, just on different floors, and they had entered at different times.
Seeing no unusual activity, Li Chonglou withdrew his gaze again.
By now, A Dong had finished his noodles. Wiping his mouth, he asked, "Should I go take a look?"
He hadn't seen their target for about fifteen minutes, and A Dong felt uneasy.
Li Chonglou smiled. He glanced at the target, about to explain, when his expression suddenly changed dramatically.
At the same time, he sprung to his feet.
This action stunned the two men and even startled other diners nearby.
But Li Chonglou had no time for explanations; he rushed directly towards the man's motel.
Just moments ago, in his Heavenly Eye Perspective, the man, who had been perfectly fine, suddenly clutched his throat and collapsed to the ground!
The water was poisoned!
Li Chonglou hadn't expected them to use such a method; he had been careless!
Only now did the two realize something was wrong and quickly followed.
"What happened? Didn't you say everything was fine?"
A Dong's words carried a hint of sarcasm.
However, Li Chonglou didn't notice, instead changing direction as he hurried along.
"Huadong?"
"I have a bad feeling; everything is too quiet!"
Oh, it was just intuition. Seeing how urgently he was moving, they thought something serious had happened.
The two men were momentarily speechless.
"But isn't that guy's motel not in this direction?"
"Watching him isn't very effective. Let's capture one of the assassins to interrogate."
Were they finally going to act!
The eyes of the two men lit up. After following people around for the past two days and rushing from place to place, they were already bored!
They'd rather complete the mission and return to Sister Feng than follow Li Chonglou.
Upon hearing that they were about to take action, their motivation surged instantly!
Li Chonglou had changed targets because, through his Heavenly Eye Perspective, he saw that the man in front, after finishing his phone call, had left his room, clearly showing signs of trying to escape.
There was no doubt that he was one of the people they had arranged!
In less than a minute, the three of them had blocked the entrance. The large man who had been tailing the target had just reached the first floor.
After a brief exchange of glances, seeing the slightly panting trio, the big man suddenly turned and fled.
His alertness almost caught Li Chonglou off guard.
"It's him, chase!"
Li Chonglou didn't pursue him personally but let A Dong and A Hai handle it.
Their reactions, honed by their background in the Green Gang, were incredibly fast. Almost the second Li Chonglou gave the order, they shot out like arrows.
They disappeared from the first floor under the astonished gaze of the receptionist.
There's going to be a fight!
The receptionist, realizing what was happening, immediately grabbed the phone beside her. If not now, then when to call the police?
She had already dialed two of the three digits when a large hand entered her field of vision and interrupted her dialing.
The receptionist instinctively looked up, meeting Li Chonglou's cold gaze.
"If you don't want to die, be sensible and pretend you saw nothing."
The receptionist stiffened and nodded, her hand holding the phone trembling.
Li Chonglou ignored her and headed upstairs.
While A Dong and A Hai dealt with the big man, he intended to interrogate the other, more scholarly-looking fellow.
Although it was clear the big man had made the move this time, having tracked them all the way here, they couldn't let anyone get away!
Approaching the old room door, without hesitation, he kicked it open with a powerful kick!
*Bang!*
The bespectacled man sitting in front of the computer inside was startled, but instinctively reached for his backpack.
"Don't move!"
Li Chonglou flew in and kicked the man onto the table. Before the man could react, his entire arm was caught by Li Chonglou.
The intense pain made him realize he had encountered an expert.
"Who are you! What do you want!"
Li Chonglou pressed down on the man and said coldly, "It's I who should be asking what you want. If you don't want to die, tell me who is behind you."
"What behind me? I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just here on vacation!"
As the man spoke, Li Chonglou kept hold of his pulse. Upon hearing the words "behind you," his heartbeat clearly quickened.
"I didn't ask what you're doing here. Still trying to play dumb?"
Li Chonglou's eyes hardened, and he acted directly.
Before long, the man's screams of agony filled the room, drawing out other residents.
