The silver sports car tore through the night.
Left at the scene was a man in a sharp suit, dead. His eyes were wide open in a final, unseeing stare, blood spreading beneath him.
Inside the silver sports car, the man in the driver's seat’s hands trembled slightly, his eyes fixed forward.
The person in the back seat was meticulously cleaning a gun, his gaze occasionally flicking towards Gou Wen.
This woman was truly ruthless.
Even he, having witnessed the scene littered with bodies earlier, found it hard to accept. How could this woman appear so calm?
Furthermore, he had just killed someone. The loser driving was so terrified his legs were shaking, yet this woman had the leisure to hum a tune and listen to music.
Those who haven't crawled out of a pile of corpses would find it difficult to reach this point.
"Why are you looking at me?" Gou Wen noticed the gaze from the back, raising her alluring eyes to the rearview mirror, meeting the lingering appraisal she’d seen earlier.
"It's nothing," the man lowered his gaze and continued cleaning his gun. He had no time for meddling.
"You think I'm too ruthless?" Gou Wen smiled. "How do I compare to the Tang family's Mingzhu?"
Upon hearing Gou Wen mention the Tang family's Mingzhu, the man's gaze turned cold. He immediately raised the half-cleaned gun and pressed it against Gou Wen's head.
This sudden turn of events made the driver flinch. His grip on the steering wheel faltered, and the car swung in a wide arc on the mountain road, the front colliding with the guardrail, creating a bright spark.
The unexpected jolt almost made Ah Long in the back pull the trigger. Gou Wen merely glanced indifferently at Song Junhan, who was driving, and uttered two words from her lips: "Useless."
Song Junhan didn't dare retort even after being insulted.
The situation at the villa earlier had already been terrifying, and now it was escalating in an even more absurd direction.
Why would Ah Long suddenly point a gun at Gou Wen? Was he tired of living?
And then there was the Tang family's Mingzhu that Gou Wen mentioned…
What did this have to do with the Tang family's Mingzhu?
Song Junhan felt his brain capacity was overloaded. He was trembling all over and completely unable to think any deeper.
It seemed ever since he was set up by that brat named Miao, his brain and heart's capacity to handle stress had been declining.
Now, Song Junhan felt his heart was about to pound out of his chest.
But without Gou Wen's order, he dared not stop, so he could only continue driving forward.
"Not many dare to point a gun at me," Gou Wen's expression remained unchanged. "To have survived that elaborate scheme and managed to drag the Tang family's Mingzhu away, you truly live up to being the Tang family's Mingzhu's right-hand man."
"It was you!" Ah Long's eyes were filled with murderous intent.
Anyone who knew about that scheme back then must be someone intending to harm his Mingzhu.
"Kill me, and you still want to see the Tang family's Mingzhu?" Gou Wen deliberately spoke enigmatically.
"Where is Mingzhu?" Ah Long demanded.
"In a place you can't rescue her from," Gou Wen replied, narrowing her eyes.
"What makes you think I can't rescue her!" Ah Long's tone was full of disdain.
"Because you can't even find a trace of the Tang family's Mingzhu right now," Gou Wen said. "Help me kill someone, and I'll take you to the Tang family's Mingzhu."
"Why should I believe you!" Ah Long continued to question.
"Because I know where the Tang family's Mingzhu is, and you don't," Gou Wen said casually.
Her plan had only formed tonight after seeing Ah Long.
In terms of skill and ability, Ah Long was clearly far ahead of Song Junhan.
Now, she had very few people she could use, and she couldn't afford to let anyone useful slip away.
Ah Long was silent for a long time before asking, "Who is chasing you?"
"Our common enemy," Gou Wen said. "I know too much about them."
"Who do you want me to kill?" Ah Long asked again.
"Xia Qing Tian," Gou Wen said. "As long as Xia Qing Tian is dead, I will have a way to regain their trust, and a way to lead you to the Tang family's Mingzhu. Then you can take your Mingzhu away, and I'll return to my organization."
Hearing that Gou Wen wanted him to kill Xia Qing Tian, Ah Long's eyes flickered. He recalled what Xia Qing Tian had said to him before, and hesitated, asking, "Ah Hu is also one of your people, isn't he?"
"Ah Hu is from the organization, not my person," Gou Wen observed Ah Long's subtle facial changes in the rearview mirror. Her hand, hanging by her side, clenched into a fist, but her face remained calm. "You don't need to worry that I'll turn you and the Tang family's Mingzhu in later. After all, I don't want to stay in that organization anymore. I want to regain trust, purely to pull off one last big score so I have the capital to retire."
Hearing Gou Wen mention Ah Hu, Ah Long had already made up his mind.
His finger, resting on the trigger, twitched, and the killing intent in his eyes grew more pronounced.
"However, Ah Hu betraying the organization for the Tang family's Mingzhu is something I never imagined," Gou Wen added, noticing the change in Ah Long's eyes. "If he hadn't thrown himself in front, you might not have escaped."
"Is Ah Hu still alive?" Ah Long's eyes shifted.
"He is, but he betrayed the Tang family's Mingzhu and then betrayed the organization, so he's not having a good time right now," Gou Wen paused. "I've only told him to lie low for now. What happens in the end, I don't know."
"The moment he betrayed Mingzhu, he deserved to die," Ah Long's voice was cold, but his eyes remained steady.
"Heh, Ah Hu was sent into the Tang family by the organization in the first place, so how can it be called betrayal?" Gou Wen laughed.
"What did you say?" Ah Long frowned deeply.
"The Tang family, the Miao family, the Wen family, the Lei family…" Gou Wen listed them one by one, nearly mentioning every family that was either flourishing or declining. "Even the Lu family, which was wiped out, had people from the organization planted in them. Do you think the Tang family only had Ah Hu? There's more…"
Song Junhan, listening from the side, was shaking like a leaf. Was this something he was supposed to hear?
He knew this organization was incredibly powerful, but what he was hearing now far exceeded his capacity to comprehend.
Those powerful families controlled the economic lifeline of more than half the country. The fact that they had people from this organization… what did that imply?
Song Junhan couldn't imagine.
"Who else is in the Tang family!" Ah Long also clearly sensed the seriousness of the matter. He questioned her sternly, "What organization are you people!"
"Kill Xia Qing Tian, and I'll tell you everything you want to know," Gou Wen said. "If you can't kill Xia Qing Tian, then we have nothing to discuss."
After a pause, Gou Wen yawned and casually added, "Oh, right. If I die, the bomb near the Tang family's Mingzhu will also detonate, so you'd better protect me, okay~"
This statement finally made Ah Long hesitate. Gou Wen pretended to be tired and closed her eyes. Ah Long slowly lowered his gun, still in doubt.
Feeling the gun leave the back of her head, Gou Wen, who had her eyes closed, slowly relaxed the hand that had been clenched into a fist by her side.
On her palm, there were clear marks from her fingernails digging in.
The trap was set, the assassin chosen, and now they were just waiting to lure the prey in!
