Chapter 1063 Repaying Grievances with Virtue

Feng Jinglong looked at Afang, his heart filled with pain.

"Afang, you've worked for our family for over 30 years. Has our Feng family ever wronged you? I believe I've treated you well! Why would you do this!"

Afang knelt on the ground, kowtowing as if pounding garlic. Her forehead struck the floor heavily, and blood trickled from the top of her head.

"Mr. Feng, you have treated us well. I am the one who has wronged you, but I was forced. I had no choice but to do this! My son, Aqiang, owed loan sharks, and those people captured him, and then... then..." Afang choked up, unable to continue.

"Then what!" Feng Jifei demanded from the side.

"Then, Third Young Master found me. He told me that if I helped him, he could deal with those loan sharks, have my debts cleared, and give me a large sum of money... Otherwise, they would chop off my son Aqiang's hands and feet and throw him into the sea... Master, Aqiang is my only son. I don't want Aqiang to die..."

Upon hearing this, Feng Jifei stepped forward and kicked Afang, sending her sprawling to the ground. "You wretch! You didn't want your son to die, so you came to harm my father!"

The situation was clear. Both the Feng father and son, as well as Ling Tian, had figured out what had happened. Afang had worked for the Feng family for many years. The Feng family was very generous to their staff. For a servant like Afang, her monthly salary even exceeded that of most white-collar workers in Malaysia. Every year, at the end of the year, the Feng family would also give these servants very generous red envelopes.

Later, Afang got married and had a son named Aqiang. Aqiang was Afang's only son, and she doted on him immensely. Because of their privileged family circumstances, the child grew up pampered. As the saying goes, "a doting mother often spoils her son." This child, now in his twenties, still refused to find work, spending his days idle and leeching off his parents.

As the saying goes, flies don't land on eggs without cracks. Aqiang, such a good-for-nothing, was targeted by Feng Jiteng. Feng Jiteng arranged several "chance" encounters, and the two became familiar. Then, Feng Jiteng often took him out for entertainment, dining, and visits to nightclubs and casinos.

On one occasion, Feng Jiteng took Aqiang to a casino. Feng Jiteng gave Aqiang some chips and told him to play freely, saying that any winnings would be Aqiang's, and any losses would be Feng Jiteng's. Aqiang excitedly tried his luck and ended up winning over a hundred thousand. For a brainless young man like Aqiang, gambling was a pit from which there was no escape once he fell in.

Aqiang did not know that the casino was actually run by Feng Jiteng's cronies. They let him win money intentionally, all part of Feng Jiteng's plan to get him addicted to gambling. Thus, the young man embarked on a path of no return. He lost all his own money, then tricked Afang into believing he was going into business with the Third Young Master, swindling all of Afang's savings, which he then gambled away in less than a day.

With red eyes from gambling, Aqiang borrowed money from loan sharks, hoping to turn his luck around. Instead, he not only failed to recover but also accumulated a massive debt of over a million due to compounding interest. Aqiang was then captured by the loan sharks, who were, in fact, Feng Jiteng's subordinates. These men cruelly chopped off one of Aqiang's fingers and sent it to Afang, warning her that if she dared to report them, they would kill Aqiang immediately.

Although her son was a prodigal, he was Afang's lifeline. Afang lost her composure. At this moment, Third Young Master Feng Jiteng appeared and presented her with the offer. On the day Ling Tian first treated Feng Jinglong, Feng Jiteng found Afang and gave her the bottle. For an elder like Afang, entering Feng Jinglong's villa did not require a security check. Even if there were, such a minor item would not have attracted attention. Feng Jiteng told Afang that he would send her instructions via text message, telling her to open the bottle at a specified time. He promised that if Afang complied, he would have Aqiang released and give her a sum of money.

In reality, Feng Jiteng had not expected things to escalate so quickly. The bottle was merely a backup plan, a failsafe. He hadn't anticipated that this plan would be needed, nor that it would ultimately fail.

"Father, what should we do? How should we deal with this woman? Should we throw her into the sea or report her to the authorities?" Feng Jifei stared intently at Afang, speaking fiercely.

Afang was now in despair. She knew very well what kind of business the Feng family had been in. She had been foolish enough to try and kill Feng Jinglong, and she knew the Feng family would never let her go!

To her surprise, Feng Jinglong sighed deeply. "Alas, forget it. Let her go. Settle her wages. Afang has served our family for so many years; she has earned her keep through her labor, if not merit. Besides, this matter cannot be entirely blamed on Afang. That unfilial son, Feng Jiteng, is the main culprit! Oh, and by the way, look into who captured Afang's son and tell them to release him!"

Afang never imagined that Feng Jinglong would repay kindness with kindness. Even Ling Tian was somewhat surprised, his opinion of Feng Jinglong rising another notch. Amidst Afang's tearful expressions of gratitude, the woman was dragged away.

The Feng father and son fell into silence, unsure of what to do next. At this moment, Ling Tian turned to Feng Jifei.

"Young Master Feng, I have a question for you. Have you made a will?"

Feng Jifei was stunned by Ling Tian's question. "A will? Mr. Ling Tian, I'm only in my forties, and my health is very robust..."

"Young Master Feng, have you considered this: although the old master made a will, stating that after his death the Feng Group would be managed by you, with no share for Feng Jiteng, you yourself do not have a will. If the old master is gone and you also die, then Feng Jiteng would regain his inheritance rights to the Feng Group. Moreover, if both you and the old master meet with misfortune, even if other heirs have the opportunity to inherit the Feng Group, do you think they would dare? Ultimately, control of the Feng Group would still fall into Feng Jiteng's hands!"

"It is as I suspected. That unfilial son is still not giving up!" Feng Jinglong immediately understood the implication and was furious, wishing he could kill Feng Jiteng on the spot.

"Elder, I have a suggestion. For the time being, it would be best for you to go into hiding and travel somewhere to relax!"
