Chapter 178: OLIVIA’S PREDICAMENT (4)
"You bastard!" Lyle cursed loudly as he tried to stand up and attack him, but he was too beaten up to fight back.
One of Viper’s men was enough to hold him down. He kneed him in the back and pulled back his head so he could see what his boss was going to do to his sister.
The force was very painful; Lyle felt as if his neck was about to snap. But the thought of watching the death of his sister without being able to do anything was more excruciating.
He screamed at the top of his lungs and cursed this apartment building; because either the soundproofing was well-built or the people on this floor were out around this time, no one came to check the commotion inside.
"Get away from her!"
On the other hand, Olivia whimpered when she looked at the gun that was aimed at her. She was going to die. She watched how her brother struggled to fight back, and then her eyes fell on unconscious Marcus.
Meanwhile, Nelson shut his eyes. He couldn’t bring himself to witness this. He couldn’t fight them; thus, he didn’t even try. There was no point in fighting them off. Viper was going to kill him sooner or later. He didn’t want to draw attention to him.
"McKenna will destroy your business, Viper!" Lyle snarled at him. "Kill her, and we are going after your children. We are going to kill all of the people that you know!"
Viper stopped for a while before he pulled the trigger and regarded Lyle with a lopsided smile. "Oh, dear. Nobody knows about this. No one will be able to draw a conclusion. Moreover, I heard she has been disowned by her family. They will not worry about her."
Obviously, Viper wouldn’t kill Lyle, but it didn’t mean he would set him free. He was going to make the murderer of his son beg to kill him.
"Now, focus on your lesson." He turned his attention back to Carl. If it were not for Viper, who held him from behind, the young lad would have crumpled down. "This is an honor for you to help me with my revenge."
"No, please..." Carl shook his head, but Viper tightened his grip. It hurt; Carl felt his fingers were crushed under the pressure of Viper’s fingers and the gun.
"Aim and shoot."
"No!"
And that was when Viper pulled the trigger. The bullet pierced through the air without a muffling sound, and in the next second Olivia fell to her knees. She let out a sharp gasp when the bullet pierced through her body.
"VIPER!" Lyle struggled so hard that another man came to hold him down. He watched with bloodshot eyes when blood started oozing out of Olivia’s body. "Olivia! OLIVIA!"
If it were not for the two men who held her up, Olivia would have fallen to the floor, but this position let them know where the bullet had embedded in her flesh.
"Oh, shit. You missed, lad." Viper clicked his tongue.
He was going to aim for Olivia’s heart, but when Carl fought him, the bullet deviated to her stomach instead.
"You need more practice, boy." Viper took a step back and let go of Carl, who immediately fell to his knees. He threw away the gun, as if it was a snake that would bite him.
Carl was trembling uncontrollably. He felt his body was very cold, and he couldn’t control his bladder, so he peed his pants, and Viper hissed in annoyance.
"Shit." Viper watched in disgust. "It will be hard to train you. You embarrassed yourself, lad."
All of Viper’s men laughed to see the scene; they didn’t even have pity for Carl. For them, this was such an entertaining sight. They would use it against him. The teasing would be fun...
"Instead of killing her, you make it more painful for her, you know." Viper then shifted his attention to Lyle, who was still cursing and throwing profanities at him. "That’s not me, it’s him, okay? Don’t be mad at me. I am not that cruel to torture her. I was kind enough to give her a quick death, but he ruined it."
Carl couldn’t hear what Viper or Lyle were saying anymore. The whole room was spinning, his stomach was churning, and before he realized it, he was throwing up, emptying his stomach, until he could feel the bitter bile on his tongue.
"Ck, such a rich, spoiled kid..." Viper shook his head. "Don’t worry. I will not make her suffer more than this."
This time, Viper approached Olivia, who had lost her consciousness. She was still alive, but if she didn’t get the immediate help she needed, she was going to lose so much blood, which led to her death.
However, Viper didn’t have any shred of pity. He was going to end this.
"Release her," Viper said, and the two men stepped back.
The moment they let Olivia go, her body fell down like a leaf. She lay in a pool of her own blood. Her breathing became shallow.
On the other hand, Viper hovered above her. "No hard feelings, girl. You were born into the wrong family. I would like to keep you for myself, but my son will definitely want you."
Viper raised his hand and aimed at her neck. He was going to kill her this way.
"A life for a life," Viper said, as he fixed his eyes on Lyle to watch his reaction when he killed his beloved sister.
However, before Viper could break Olivia’s neck, they heard the doorbell ring. That person must have pressed it continuously because the sound didn’t stop, and this was annoying.
One of his men came and reported the situation to Viper.
"It’s a woman. A pregnant woman," he said. He then remembered where he saw her, since she was rather famous, especially after her marriage. "I think she is Hazel Rose, the woman who recently married Ranon Leighton."
Even when he didn’t follow the news, it was all over the media; there was no way he didn’t see it. It was quite an uproar a few months ago.
Viper frowned. He didn’t know Olivia had any connection with Hazel Leighton aside from the fact that she made her the wedding gown.
Confused, Viper went to see her on Olivia’s big screen that was connected to the CCTV camera. There, he saw a heavily pregnant woman pressing the bell excessively with a boring expression. She looked like a petulant child because no one opened the door for her.
"What should we do?"
The bald man asked Viper because the noise from the doorbell started to get on his nerves. This annoying sound made him frown.
Viper didn’t answer him immediately; he contemplated for a while, and Lyle also stopped cursing. He was not sure if Hazel’s sudden appearance could change the situation.
If anything, that woman could be held as another captive in Viper’s hand.
"Open the door, let her in." Viper was being greedy. He should have thought about it twice to mess with the McKennas, but now he wanted to get the Leightons as well.
The bald man volunteered to come to the door and open it.
They could hear what they were saying at the entrance door and saw Hazel look confused to see him there.
"Ms. McKenna is inside." He then added, when Hazel looked at him with a frown. "She is not feeling well. I am one of her staff."
"Ms. McKenna?" Hazel repeated the way he addressed Olivia. "So, you know she is a McKenna?"
Olivia chose not to use her family name because of her deep disdain for her family. Therefore, almost all the people she met in this industry didn’t know about it, let alone a mere staff member.
And before he realized his error, Hazel was quick with her hand.
While the man was still confused with Hazel’s weird question, she had pulled a gun from inside her purse and shot him dead. The next moment, she shot the CCTV camera.
The way she stared at it could give you chills down your spine, even when they only saw it from the monitor.
All of them were shocked. They would have never guessed in a million years that someone like Hazel knew how to use a gun.
As the CCTV was destroyed, they didn’t know what happened at the front door, but it was already open.
"Go! Go out there! Bring that woman here! I want her alive!" Viper was enraged. He didn’t expect this twist.
Three men went to the front door, guns in their hands. It wouldn’t be hard to take down a pregnant woman, right?
But the thing that they didn’t know was: Hazel didn’t come alone. She was not that stupid to put herself in harm’s way, especially when she was pregnant and was limited in movement.
Hell, she even had a hard time walking long distances, let alone fighting.
And at a moment like this, she needed to thank Ranon’s overprotective nature, which gave her a lot of useful bodyguards.
Hm. With this, they had something better to do rather than only accompany her to watch horror movies.
She had worked them up so they wouldn’t have easy money. Ranon should thank her.
"Mrs. Leighton... Mr. Leighton will kill us all once he learns about this," Yara complained. She looked genuinely scared as she stayed with Hazel while the others dealt with the situation.
Hazel would come inside once they had secured them all.
