Chapter 201: Victory Celebration

Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Victory Celebration

Now all the problems are really over. In the end Matthias and Victoria could celebrate their moment of victory with all their closest friends in peace. Again they should celebrate in the same restaurant as before. Everyone looks happy with their partner, except for Marcel and Ansel who are not dating anyone yet. Actually, Victoria still feels a little guilty about her ex-fiancé because she betrayed him suddenly even though she had promised to marry him.

"By the way, I’m finally at peace seeing you two living happily again," Jennifer said, looking at the husband and wife with sparkling eyes.

Sawyer sighed weakly. "But, I honestly didn’t think Fransisca would be so cruel as to cause you to miscarry, Victoria. She doesn’t deserve to be called human."

Victoria smiled faintly as she looked at her husband. "Now I’ve put that bad incident behind me. Since no one will be able to bother us anymore, I want to focus on my husband."

"But, didn’t you already sign the divorce papers?" Jennifer narrowed her eyes at Matthias. "You should take responsibility for your mistake! How could you hurt Victoria’s feelings back then!"

Matthias lowered his head and touched his wife’s hand. "You’re right. I do have to take responsibility. That’s why I want to start over."

"Who said you wanted to start over?" Victoria crossed her arms. "You’re talking as if our relationship is truly over!"

"But, we once went to divorce court."

"Didn’t you say it was just an act?"

Matthias nodded and lowered his head. "But I’m still traumatized by what happened back then. If I’d made a wrong move, I wouldn’t have been able to have dinner with you again."

Victoria shook her head quickly. "Who said I was leaving you? Even if we were divorced, I wouldn’t let you go that easily!"

Everyone gasped in amazement at Victoria’s statement, including Matthias’ heart which was pounding at the sound of it.

"Tory, don’t you hate annoying guys like me?"

"I won’t. Because I really like you."

Matthias was finding it increasingly difficult to control his heart rate, which continued to pound, making his cheeks flush. His hand instinctively stroked his wife’s hair. "I like you too."

"Wow, I’m so jealous hearing that!" Ansel protested, pouting his lips.

Matthias put his arm around his wife’s shoulders affectionately. "Did you hear what my wife said earlier? She said you could never be her husband again."

Ansel looked at his friend with an intense gaze. "But, I’ve been letting her go since she suddenly canceled our engagement. Seeing her always happy whenever she’s with you is enough to make me happy."

"Thank goodness, this way you won’t be targeting my wife anymore."

Victoria looked at her ex-fiancé with a worried look. "I hope you soon find the perfect woman to be your life partner."

"Actually, I haven’t thought that far ahead because I’m not ready to date again. Maybe if a woman suddenly becomes interested in me, I’ll try to get to know her."

Marcel snapped his fingers. "Maybe you could ask Matthias to teach you how to approach a woman. He’s been very good at it since he started dating Victoria."

Matthias raised his head arrogantly. "Don’t worry, I can guarantee you’ll find a good woman if you follow my instructions."

Sawyer shook his head. "Even though he used to be an amateur, he’s the best of them all now."

After dinner with all their closest friends, Matthias and Victoria returned to their home to rest. It had been a long time since they had enjoyed such a happy moment in peace. Furthermore, over the past two years, they had experienced numerous calamities, posing various challenges to their marriage. One of the greatest obstacles they faced was the loss of their child.

Victoria still doesn’t want her husband to do much during his recovery. Her only job now is to help change the bandages on the stitches. In fact, she’s been worried all day that the wound will get worse due to his busy schedule.

"Matty, starting tomorrow you shouldn’t do much activity. Remember, you’re still recovering."

Matthias stroked his wife’s head slowly. "Actually, there’s still one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever wanted to give you."

Victoria blinked innocently. "What gift do you want me to get?"

"Before we caught Gianna, I promised to give you the gift after this was over. I want to give you the special gift soon."

"But you’re still recovering. I don’t want you to do anything." Victoria hugged her husband tightly. "I’ll wait patiently. Don’t worry, I won’t forget that you wanted to give me a gift."

Matthias kissed his wife briefly on the cheek. "Thank you, Tory. I’m actually really proud of you today. You were so brave to stand up to Fransisca without hesitation."

"Of course I would beat her up because she was so cruel to kill all those innocent people, and then she killed our baby too." Her right hand stroked her husband’s head slowly. "Thank you for changing my personality too, Matty."

"Looks like I really have something to learn from you. You look even scarier than me."

"But, why do you still want a scary wife?"

"Because you’re only scary in front of other people. When you’re in front of me, you’re actually very sweet."

Victoria rested her head on her husband’s shoulder. "I miss dating you. I hope you get better soon so we can have as many dates as we want. I don’t want to spend all my dates indoors."

"For your sake, I will definitely recover quickly."

Two weeks later...

In fact, this husband and wife’s life has become sweeter since no more calamities have befallen them. However, will they live in peace forever?

A woman is seen pushing a suitcase at the airport while watching a perfume advertisement video made by a married couple that went viral previously.

The woman stopped the video as it showed Matthias’ handsome charm as he stared at the blue sky with a sparkling gaze.

"Matthias, it turns out you haven’t changed since before."
