Chapter 183: Mysterious Woman

Chapter 183: Chapter 183: Mysterious Woman

Victoria entered the D&C Group building with dignity, as all the employees considered her a true hero who saved them. In fact, Victoria was still unaccustomed to being treated like a queen, even though everyone at her studio loved her.

Now she had to focus on one thing that was still odd in this office. If Gianna wasn’t the one who wanted to kill her, was Fransisca the culprit? She hadn’t intended to think that far, as Fransisca was better than her mother. However, on the other hand, she suspected Fransisca of wanting to kill her, as she was certain she had intentionally tripped her.

She pretended not to know anything every time she met Fransisca. However, that didn’t mean he trusted her completely, as she was adept at acting. To this day, she still has trouble reading her true thoughts.

Before Fransisca arrived at the office, Victoria snuck into the CEO’s office to look for the green heels she’d dreamed about. Fransisca likely keeps several of her own in her office because she easily gets bored with one thing.

When she wanted to leave this room, she accidentally bumped into Fransisca who wanted to enter this room, which almost made her have a heart attack.

"Victoria, what are you doing in my room?"

Victoria laughed innocently as she quickly walked out of the room. "I was actually going to see you earlier. But you weren’t in your room."

"Why did you want to meet me?"

"I originally wanted to request some company performance documents for the past two years. But I guess I’m interrupting at the wrong time."

Fransisca forced a smile. "It’s okay. Besides, you should learn, since you haven’t worked here in a while."

"Then, I’ll just wait for you here."

"Why do you look so rushed? Do I look like I’m chasing you away right now?"

"No. But if I accompany you now, it will seem like I’m pushing you too hard."

"I’d like to talk to you right now, Victoria." She gripped her stepsister’s hand tightly. "Shall we go inside now?"

Ever since Victoria had the nightmare, she’d been a little awkward around her stepsister, even though they hadn’t even started talking yet. Victoria was focused on the red heels Fransisca was currently wearing.

She returned to her professional demeanor, gazing around the room with a blank stare. The overly tidy room was making her even more nervous.

Fransisca handed Victoria some folders. "Here are the reports. You can study them slowly."

"By the way, you’ve always been very particular about neatness. I see your room is tidier than mine in my studio."

"Actually, this is all thanks to Lena’s help tidying it up for me all this time."

Victoria nodded, hugging the folder. "It seems I have a lot to learn from you. Actually, I rarely tidy up my room because I don’t have time to tidy it up."

"Victoria, actually I wanted to ask you a few things."

"What do you want to ask?"

"How did you manage to win Matthias’ heart so easily? Isn’t it hard for everyone to win his heart?"

"Of course, because Matthias is like me so much. Even in terms of hobbies, we have a lot in common. That’s why he and I fell in love so easily."

"Really? But have you ever made him angry?"

Victoria lowered her head for a moment. "Actually, I made him angry when he suddenly proposed to me. If I hadn’t had amnesia, I wouldn’t have cursed him. Although I hated him at the time, over time, it became harder to hate him until all my memories returned."

"I’m so jealous watching your love story unfold. You’re so lucky to have Matthias in your life."

"Yes, I admit I was lucky to have met him when we first started working together." Her right hand touched her cheek, starting to feel warm. "Actually, I’m still curious about him to this day. Why did he choose me out of all the women in the world? Even though I have so many flaws that I’ve caused so many problems in his life."

"That’s why I’m so jealous seeing you always treated like a queen by him."

"That’s why, even though we signed divorce papers, this time I still want to save our relationship. It doesn’t matter if someone tries to destroy it again."

Fransisca was furious at her stepsister’s words, which seemed to be provoking her. She didn’t want to continue her conversation with her enemy any longer. She felt like throwing up everything in her stomach all over that beautiful face.

"I pray that your relationship will improve."

Victoria glanced at the luxury watch on her left wrist for a moment. "I think I’ve taken up too much of your time. I have to get back to work now."

"I also have to prepare for the meeting first. If you’re still confused, you can ask me."

For now, Victoria didn’t feel anything strange about her conversation with Fransisca. She walked quickly to her room and closed the door. Her body felt warm from being embraced by someone she loved so much. A sweet smile spread across her face, her left hand slowly stroking her husband’s hand.

"Matty, didn’t you say there was supposed to be a meeting today?"

Matthias kissed her ear deeply. "Today’s meeting is canceled. Also, I told you yesterday that I wasn’t too busy today. I won’t be going anywhere today. I want to be with you all day."

Victoria rolled her eyes. "What about office work?"

"Don’t worry. I’ve brought my laptop, notebook, and some important documents. I’ll be working with you here today."

Victoria couldn’t bear to scold her overly sweet husband. She immediately placed all the files on the table and hugged his muscular body tightly.

"Thank you, Matty."

"I thought you wanted to pamper me now."

"Actually, I really need you today. You’re the most reliable when it comes to reading my mind."

"More likely I’m just really worried about you, Tory. That’s why I canceled today’s meeting and came straight to you."
