Chapter 179: Emergency Meeting Part III

Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Emergency Meeting Part III

Victory now rested with Victoria. After Gianna was dragged from the meeting room, the room became increasingly chaotic as the board members debated who should assume the leadership position of D&C Group. With Victoria’s current shareholding exceeding Fransisca’s, it was clear that Victoria deserved the position. Not to mention the original will, which identified her as the primary heir.

Victoria actually wanted to get rid of Fransisca subtly. She didn’t want to appear too obvious because she knew Fransisca wouldn’t give up her position even if she had acted so openly and tactfully.

"Now we are confused, who will take the position as leader of D&C Group."

"If you look at share ownership, Victoria is actually the dominant one."

"How about we ask Fransisca’s opinion now? Didn’t she defend her mother earlier?"

Fransisca smiled kindly as she looked at each of the council members. "I think Victoria is more deserving of the position."

Victoria was stunned by Fransisca’s proposal. Was Fransisca really planning to hand over the leadership position to her? She felt something was off about those ambiguous words.

"Fransisca, don’t you regret your decision? It’s safe to say you have to give up your current position."

"Actually, I wasn’t finished. I actually wanted to vacate the leadership position temporarily. So, Victoria and I didn’t put that position up."

"So, do you actually want Victoria to replace you?"

"According to my father’s will, Victoria should certainly be the one to take that position. But shouldn’t she learn more at the company before she’s qualified for that position?" Fransisca smiled slyly at her enemy, who sat across from her.

Victoria also responded with a sly smile. In fact, Victoria had already suspected Fransisca wouldn’t give up the position easily. Fransisca was also a snake woman who liked to act hypocritically in front of important people. Furthermore, she still suspected Fransisca of intentionally killing her baby. However, she had remained silent until now because she lacked proof.

"I don’t mind. But I want you to give me the position of president director. I definitely won’t let D&C Group suffer any further losses." She glanced at everyone. "Besides, T&H Group will continue to collaborate with us in the future. Previously, Matthias had offered to extend his collaboration with us."

"But, aren’t you two divorced?" Fransisca asked innocently.

Matthias lifted the corners of his lips confidently. "Even though I divorced Victoria, I still consider her my beloved wife. Since your mother forced us to divorce, we were forced to do so. Victoria and I are so sick of being controlled by your mother all this time."

Victoria folded her arms. "Do you understand, Fransisca?"

Fransisca nodded politely. "Okay, I understand." She looked at the board members. "I’ll be acting as CEO for the time being. Are you okay with this situation?"

"Of course. You’re right. We can’t possibly let someone so inexperienced immediately take on such a risky position."

"Okay, I’ll prove to you all that I truly deserve the position. I’ve been busy taking care of my studio, but you have no idea how it’s progressing."

The emergency meeting ended smoothly. Victoria and Matthias walked out of the meeting room hand in hand. Victoria was now very content to be able to cuddle with her husband after they had pretended to be divorced and hated each other.

Meanwhile, Fransisca glared at the couple with such fury that she couldn’t breathe. She clutched the folder tightly as she walked, escorted by her assistant.

Fransisca screamed like a madman in the soon-to-be-empty leader’s room. She felt like stabbing her stepsister with the scissors she was holding.

"Victoria is so shameless! After she put my mother in prison, now she has the nerve to get rid of me!"

"Fransisca, you have to control yourself. If you act rashly, the board members will no longer support you."

"You don’t know anything, Lena. You’d better keep your mouth shut! If you were in my position, you’d understand how I feel right now."

Hearing a soft knock, she took the initiative to tidy up her slightly disheveled appearance. She greeted her brother with a forced smile. She’d actually been disgusted by his sweet smile since they’d been in the meeting room.

"Fransisca, are you sure you want to vacate this room?" Victoria pursed her lips. "It’s a shame, because this room is so spacious and fully equipped."

"It’s okay. If our father really wants to give this room to you, I have to comply with his wishes."

"But, I still don’t understand. Why don’t you let me stay in this room?"

"Didn’t I mean you good? I’ll let you learn more first. If you understand the company’s situation, then you deserve to occupy this room."

Victoria walked over to her stepsister and touched her shoulder. "Sorry, I didn’t mean to push you away. You’re not mad at me, are you?"

"Actually, I’m just in shock right now. My mind is in turmoil because I was shocked to see my mother being dragged away by the police. Especially since I’ve always considered her the best mother in the world."

"Fransisca, just so you know. Your mother is human too. Everyone makes mistakes, including us."

"But, the crimes my mother committed I cannot forgive."

Victoria folded her arms. "But why did you seem so clueless about my accident?"

Fransisca let out a sob, her tears beginning to break. "I actually wanted to report it to the police. But my mother prevented me from doing so. I couldn’t do anything. That’s why I’ve lived all these years filled with guilt because I hid this important thing from you."

"Actually, I’m angry with you too because you kept quiet while your mother hid the accident. But I’ll forgive you because you didn’t defend your mother."

"I’m sorry, Victoria."

Victoria hugged her half-sister tightly. "I want you to continue being a good sister. We should just forget the past. I want you to be yourself."

"But-"

"I have one request for you. Please bring back all the employees you’ve fired recently."
