Chapter 1562: To Crush Her

Chapter 1562: To Crush Her

Kintar fired jets of mana, Nitros and a unique kind of flame at the conduit Aimon in rapid succession. Each produced different results: the mana bounced off inconsequentially against the distorted deer head; the Nitros was warded off in much the same way, only, it managed to ruffle the furs on the conduit as though it were a gust of wind; the flame caught against the conduit for less than a second before fizzling out, inflicting no damage whatsoever.

These details might have been harrowing and discouraging to the average expert, but Kintar derived a great deal from them.

’His creations are also immune to mana now. But it’s not just mana. He’s immune to all extensions that can derived from it,’ the Unlimited Star noted from the distance. Rias hadn’t pursued her after she sprouted from another one of the mana organisms she had created. ’The immunity isn’t perfect, though. Advanced magic makes it possible for Mages to conjure concepts by refining mana into something more profound. He’s not completely immune to that, even with his Divine powers.’ She grinned malevolently. ’Of course, it’s only natural. Master said there was a use for mana even in Deadmanland. It’s a broad concept that applies to everything around us – not just Aigas – feeding into many of the workings of reality itself. The masked man can’t completely negate its fundamental powers. At least not yet.’

What Kintar was considering after her little experiment – if it could even be called that – was of no concern to Rias. He was already a few steps ahead. After sending two more near perfect Death Knights against Sila and Uyuniya – the stronger one for the latter in particular – he’d bought himself some time to deal with Kintar and actualise some of his goals.

Killing the Unlimited Star had risen up his to-do list, as it were. Rias’ bloodlust was frothing the more he imagined squashing the mortal who dared to actually pose a challenge to him. Kintar could feel it. She grinned at the masked man, taunting him.

But Rias had quite the unique method for an attempt at crushing her spirit. Making himself immune to mana was but one step.

As he pointed at the great, spherical mass of rock a distance away, constantly shuddering because of the battle raging within it, Aimon opened its mouth and caused a door to appear on the thing. Rias twisted his hand, using Undeath energy to telekinetically open the door, reach inside the small world and draw out... someone.

In a blink, a quick shadow came flying out of the door to Rias’ side. It was a woman.

On top of looking rather startled by suddenly being wrenched away from the intense battle against the Stark Troops, she looked rather weary. Her panting didn’t stop even as she eyed Rias frightfully.

Her short, silver hair was bloodied, and her heart-shaped face featured more than a few bruises and scrapes. Out of all the women who considered themselves part of the Order of the Trodden Rose, she might have been the one who looked least like a psychopathic killer. The only thing that made her short, slim frame look lethal in any way, were the claws spilling from a weapon around her wrists.

But of course, Rias, hadn’t summoned her because of her potential as an Arma User. Instead, it was because of her right eye; an eye with dark sclera and an icy blue iris.

Kintar narrowed her eyes at the development and then came to a realisation at once.

Rias, on the other hand, smirked under the mask and sent a mental command to the twisted Divine conduit above him.

’Aimon. I’ll fend for himself for a while. You focus all your faculties on protecting yourself and completing that as soon as possible.’

Right after, he turned to the bloodied woman beside him, and placed his hand around her neck.

"Nana, was it?" he said. "I have use for that eye of yours."

Kintar scoffed. Whatever Rias commanded of the woman next – Nana, as was her name – was communicated non-verbally. Nana tore herself from her state of surprise, and with her odd eye, she looked in Kintar’s direction. A dark pulse whipped out of her eye with striking speed, exploding in all directions.

At once, the millions of mana organisms Kintar had created began to be dispelled one after another. Or was it that they were...dispersed?

When the energy from the strange eye met the complex mana figures, they were blown away like ash by a gust of wind. Whatever resistance they might have rendered barely lasted a fraction of a millisecond.

’It’s like Yuyui’s Eye of Dispersal. No. It is Yuyui’s Eye of Dispersal!’ Kintar thought and chuckled.

She absorbed a few hundred thousand of her mana creations into herself before they could be dispersed and then landed on the ground.

Nana closed her eye shut after the burst of power was released. She hunched over and pressed her hands against her knees, panting more audibly. Gerriey and the others had given her a hard battle. She would have died countless times if not for Nigerra. But of course, neither Rias nor Kintar knew that.

What the latter immediately deduced, though, was...

’I see. My guess wasn’t too far off then,’ Kintar thought. She looked into the masked man’s right eye. It had a crystalline blue glow. ’These freaky cunts gave him one of their unique eyes – one that has to do with making attacks bounce back and attack either the assailant or someone close to them. Hmm. Is it limited in the nature of attacks it can reflect, I wonder? I’ll have to figure that out. It’s sure to be unique. Was he given that as a result of some sort of deal he and those women made? I would guess the masked man made the eye he was given stronger somehow, though. There’s no way any of those bitches are casually causing an attack from Uyuniya to rebound. Which is why...’

Kintar turned to Nana and then the world she had created to trap everyone else she deemed irrelevant on the battlefield. Her grin turned sinister.

’This woman’s Eye of Dispersal is weaker than Yuyui’s. If it was that hopeless bard, she would have been able to dispel that by now.’

It was rather interesting. Now, it felt like the masked man was taunting Kintar. She could see the look in his eyes. He didn’t make any advances. He wanted to use Nana to squash Kintar’s hopes. But of course, he wouldn’t let the woman out of his range. Kintar would kill her immediately, he knew.

’I’ll bite,’ Kintar thought and she released six of the organisms she had saved from dispersal.

Before anything could be done to them, however, she immediately poured the intricate nature of her Advanced Class into each of them, turning them into the highest evolutionary species Aigas had ever entertained in its full history.

But that was not all.

Kintar went on to demonstrate her mastery of the fundamentals of Aigas’ power system on top of her Magecraft.
