Wen Wen had promised Delia he would rescue her. Although Delia had fainted from fear, Wen Wen could not just watch her disappear here.
He placed the Disaster Gloves on the barrier and activated their suction power, attempting to break the enchantment.
However, the moment he touched the barrier, his eyes widened in surprise.
"This feel... it's not right. It's clearly a disaster-level enchantment, so why does it feel so strange..."
"It's as if the barrier doesn't exist at all. I've never seen such a barrier. The Disaster Gloves have no reaction to this powerful enchantment."
Wen Wen pondered for two seconds, determined to try, and reached out his right hand.
As a result, his hand directly passed through the barrier!
But just as his entire right hand was about to pass through, Wen Wen suddenly stopped. He had a hunch that if he pushed further, he would be attacked by the barrier.
Why did the Disaster Gloves go through directly, but his hand stopped when it was no longer covered by the gloves?
A thought flickered in Wen Wen's mind. His black robe suddenly attached itself to him, and he lightly slipped into the barrier without triggering any reaction. The people inside the barrier might not even know someone had entered.
Standing at the edge of the barrier, Wen Wen looked up and stared at the 'All-Seeing Eye' holy emblem for two seconds before leaping up.
This emblem possessed unfathomable power, so Wen Wen did not approach it rashly. He looked at the emblem and then at the rest of the building, noticing a subtle sense of disharmony.
The holy emblem was added later!
With a clearer understanding, Wen Wen continued to crawl into the sanctuary like a spider.
The sanctuary resembled a church, but its interior differed from a typical church. The narthex was a large circular hall. Currently, a group of people were gathered around the hall, looking at the unconscious girl placed in the center.
These people stood divided into two groups. Those on the left wore robes of various colors, their faces concealed, appearing mysterious. These were likely members of the Society of Truth.
The group on the right was much more flamboyant, consisting of a motley crew of misfits, clearly not good sorts.
A Free Vine Man with upper-sequence strength stood with two other upper-sequence individuals. These three were the leaders of this faction.
One upper-sequence was a middle-aged woman of ordinary appearance, playing with a die the size of a human head. The six faces of the die were painted with images of a man, a woman, an angel, a demon, a jester, and a robot.
Upon closer inspection, one could see skin-like textures and facial features on this large die. It was, in fact, the skull of the great villain Six-Face Man from Arkham City!
This middle-aged woman was Six-Face Man's wife, and she harbored intense hatred for the Night Knight.
Another upper-sequence individual had skin that was blue on one side and black on the other. He wore two gun holsters, each containing something resembling a water pistol.
This person had inherited all the assets of the great villain Ocean-Ice-Fire Man from Arkham City, gaining similar powers, and also sought to cause trouble for the Night Knight.
The other misfits, whose strength was less formidable, harbored similar intentions. However, they were currently insignificant in comparison to the Night Knight, so they could only choose to cooperate with the Society of Truth.
Seated at the head of the table was a man in golden robes. This man had graying hair, and his eyes seemed to hold infinite mysteries.
He was one of the thirteen professors of the Society of Truth, Professor Qiao!
Qiao Kun, who had been killed by Wen Rui, was a descendant of this Professor Qiao, thus he had some past grievances with Wen Wen.
"Does this little girl possess knowledge from another world?" Professor Qiao asked the Free Vine Man.
The Free Vine Man bowed and replied, "That's right, Professor Qiao. This is the gift I've brought for you."
Professor Qiao nodded with satisfaction and extended his hand towards Delia, saying, "Awaken."
Delia gasped and then opened her eyes. Seeing the collection of monsters and demons around her, she trembled uncontrollably.
"Little girl, don't be afraid. I am a scholar, and I am only interested in knowledge. Could you give that thing to me?"
Delia shook her head and whispered, "It's not that I don't want to give it to you, but I can't. It's parasitic within me."
Given the situation, she no longer wanted to conceal the item, but she could not simply give it away.
"It doesn't matter. As long as you are willing to give it to me."
Professor Qiao beckoned to Delia, and her body floated up uncontrollably. Points of light were forcefully extracted from within her, forming the shape of a hard drive in front of her.
Delia trembled with fear. Professor Qiao reassured her kindly, "Don't worry, the process of extracting this will not harm you. Also, I am only borrowing it. Once I have finished my research, I will return it to you."
As for how long "borrowing" would take, it was uncertain. If the knowledge here was sufficiently rich, it was not impossible for Professor Qiao to research it for a hundred years.
However, the Society of Truth was not an evil organization, so their methods were relatively gentle, at least outwardly, they would not appear too unreasonable.
The process of extracting the hard drive felt strange, as if something was draining from her body, and it was quite pleasant.
Delia rolled her eyes and accidentally looked up, only to see Wen Wen in the same posture.
Wen Wen extended his finger, "Shh, I'm here to save you. Don't..."
Delia screamed and fainted once more.
The other members of the Society of Truth, as well as the Arkham scoundrels, looked at Professor Qiao with strange expressions.
Professor Qiao touched his nose, "This really won't harm her. Perhaps she is just too scared."
All the light points were extracted and formed a hard drive, and the unconscious Delia fell to the ground.
Professor Qiao ordered someone to bring a computer and, with great anticipation, inserted the hard drive. He opened the folders one by one, and his expression grew increasingly grim.
"Did they say there was knowledge from another world? Why is it all cultural works?"
He wanted forbidden knowledge, magic, immortal arts, curses. What was all this?
Wait, perhaps there was still some use.
There was a folder named "Zhongdian Chinese Network" containing tens of thousands of novels. These novels provided countless cultivation paths. Although these were one hundred percent nonsense, they could serve as a reference.
Professor Qiao removed the hard drive and tossed it aside. Wen Wen, however, eyed it with a hint of longing.
This thing seemed quite interesting. It should contain many movies and songs that Wen Wen had never seen or heard.
For someone like Wen Wen, who only valued what was interesting and paid little attention to minor gains or losses, this was more valuable than a top-tier containment object.
Furthermore, the Foundation's assets might gain a cultural industry company, which could be a good way to accumulate funds.
