The bullet struck the right wing, not deflecting as before. The runes on the tip emitted a blinding white light, the entire wing caved inward, and Wilson, losing his footing, was sent several meters away by the impact.
Affected by the demon-slaying bullet, his right wing became stiff. His left wing, having attacked thrice, was now retracting.
Wen Wen seized this rare opportunity. Following the retracting wing, he rapidly closed in on Wilson and shoved his palm forcefully towards the man's head. Wilson immediately lost consciousness, falling backward and resting against the ground.
With everything accomplished, the right wing regained its freedom. Wen Wen leaped upward, perching on the roof beam.
Originally, these steel wings had a wide attack range. However, with Wilson unconscious, the most agile parts of the wings were trapped beneath him, rendering them incapable of hitting targets high off the ground. Thus, they could not reach Wen Wen on the beam.
"Oh? Even with consciousness gone, these wings remain so active... but it's of no use."
While tracking the trajectory of the steel wings, Wen Wen reloaded his magazine, bullet by bullet. This time, every bullet was a demon-slayer.
Since demon-slayer bullets could stiffen the steel wings, he intended to use them to separate Wilson from those wings.
Having loaded the bullets, Wen Wen was about to fire when he felt a sudden, inexplicable tremor. He quickly turned his head, followed by a deafening roar.
It turned out that the hand holding the gun had suddenly flipped, firing at his own head.
The demon-slayer bullet left a bloody, mangled track above Wen Wen's ear; the surrounding skin was scorched by the high temperature of the passing projectile.
"What is going on..."
Before Wen Wen could even process what had happened, his feet suddenly slipped, causing him to lose his balance and fall from the beam.
Wen Wen's hair stood on end. He quickly placed his hands on the ground, springing up like a coiled spring and grabbing onto the beam.
At that very moment, a steel wing swept past where he had been, piercing through the factory door. Had Wen Wen not reacted promptly, he would have been impaled by the steel wing.
As the wing retracted, it pulled down the thin metal door. A man wearing a red vest and white greasepaint on his face stood awkwardly at the entrance, his hat sliced off by the steel wing.
Wen Wen watched the suddenly appearing man with caution, already planning his escape.
In just over ten seconds, he had faced two life-threatening crises, and this was without the man directly engaging him. If the man were to attack directly, Wen Wen would likely struggle to cope.
"My body's abnormality just now must be this man's ability. This ability is very dangerous... Also, how did he return so quickly?"
Wen Wen crouched back onto the beam, constantly making small movements with his limbs. This way, if any part of his body lost control, he could detect it immediately and maintain his balance.
Mr. J sighed and stepped back a few paces. He had intended to kill Wen Wen right outside the door without revealing himself.
"Surprised I'm back so soon? Heh heh. I already knew someone was lurking outside, peeping. I originally thought it was those hounds, but I didn't expect a bloodkin."
"I don't know why the self-proclaimed noble bloodkin wouldn't go bother those hunters, but instead came to deal with us."
From Wen Wen's movements and his gradually recovering temples, Mr. J deduced that Wen Wen was a vampire.
This line of reasoning was correct, but Wen Wen, possessing the containment facility, was not normal.
After hearing Mr. J's question, Wen Wen did not reply. Instead, he shot Mr. J.
To escape from him, he needed to understand his abilities.
Mr. J's lips curled up, and he made no attempt to dodge. As he fired, Wen Wen's wrist involuntarily twisted slightly, and the bullet struck the ground in front of Mr. J.
The bullet hitting the concrete ground kicked up some small stones. The small stones splashed onto Mr. J's face, causing his lips to twitch.
"Demon-slayer bullets, aren't these what those hounds use?"
Mr. J gave Wen Wen a deep look and said, "Never mind. Once I capture you, I'll know exactly what's going on."
Wen Wen's mind raced, thinking of a way to escape.
Earlier, when this guy hid by the door, he could easily cause Wen Wen's body to rebel. Furthermore, he likely had other hidden abilities.
And although Wilson was unconscious, those wings still posed a threat, making it basically impossible to contain them now.
But... this man was injured by the shrapnel from the bullet, indicating that his physical abilities were not strong.
Also, why did he deliberately stand outside the attack range of the steel wings... Unless those steel wings were indiscriminate in their attacks!
After a brief moment of thought, Wen Wen found a way to break the stalemate. Just then, his foot twitched again, and Wen Wen was about to fall from the beam.
However, Wen Wen did not grab the beam. Instead, he pretended to be shocked and dropped to the ground!
As Wen Wen had predicted, Wilson's steel wings attacked rapidly, like vipers sensing blood.
But this time, Wen Wen did not choose to dodge. The black Disaster Gauntlet appeared, he brushed it against his chest, and then directly grabbed the long chain formed by the steel wings!
The Disaster Gauntlet was indestructible, but the steel wings were also invincible. Wen Wen had avoided using his gauntlet to defend against the wings before, fearing damage to it.
But this was not the time to worry about that. If he didn't grab the wings, he wouldn't even be able to escape from here!
After grabbing the wings, Wen Wen pulled with all his might, directly lifting Wilson's body from the other end and flinging it towards Mr. J, dropping it in front of him!
Simultaneously, the steel wings attacked Mr. J indiscriminately!
Mr. J's face changed dramatically. A strange black mist emanated from him. Within the black mist, a blurred shadow appeared. This shadow surrounded Mr. J, resisting the steel wings.
Wen Wen, seizing this moment, flashed away and darted out through the factory's back door!
Before entering this warehouse, he had already found his escape route!
The flustered Mr. J watched helplessly as Wen Wen escaped before his eyes, roaring in anger. The black mist on his body surged, temporarily suppressing the steel wings. Then, he shot a burst of black mist into Wilson's forehead. The black mist drilled into Wilson's brain, and Wilson immediately woke up.
"You finally woke up, you useless piece of trash!" Mr. J reprimanded darkly. If Wilson hadn't been so easily knocked out, he could have easily captured Wen Wen.
"I'm sorry, Mr. J." Wilson lowered his head. He had been injured before and was then knocked out by Wen Wen, so his physical condition was not very good.
Mr. J was about to scold Wilson further when his eyes narrowed. He said to Wilson, "You go and hide inside the factory for now. Don't worry, that guy won't dare to come back for a while."
After Wilson left, a man wearing a black turtleneck robe emerged from the darkness.
