Mid-Autumn Festival Special: Mooncake Skirmish

A full moon hung high in the night sky. Wen Wen, clad in a black trench coat, stood atop a tall tower, a twisted smile playing on his lips.

Today was the Mid-Autumn Festival, a day meant for family reunions. However, Wen Wen had no family but himself, and his only companions for the festival were the monsters from the containment facility.

Yet, even so, this Mid-Autumn Festival had to be celebrated with a sense of ritual. Therefore, he prepared to make a special mooncake to share with the monsters.

According to information from the Hunter Association, around the Mid-Autumn Festival each year, containment objects resembling mooncakes would appear near this residential area. This containment object was a five-nut mooncake the size of a cartwheel, with four red and green candied fruits serving as its limbs. Its special abilities were nut projection and candied fruit binding.

Legend had it that anyone who ate the mooncake containment object on the Mid-Autumn Festival would be blessed with good luck. Thus, in this residential area, Wen Wen was not the only demon hunter; they were all his rivals.

By 8 PM, the moon in the sky became increasingly round. A peculiar mooncake monster appeared before the demon hunters. Its golden, oily skin emitted a tantalizing aroma. The demon hunters, with frenzied expressions, rushed towards the mooncake monsters.

But how could Wen Wen let what he desired be easily taken by others? He pulled out a giant slingshot and fired balloons filled with strange concoctions at the demon hunters.

The balloons burst, drenching the demon hunters in their contents. To their horror, the demon hunters discovered that the balloons contained a mixture of fermented herring, stinky tofu, and grilled durian!

They immediately lost any desire to contend for the mooncakes. Wen Wen leaped in front of the bewildered mooncake containment object, his expression cruel as he said, "Heh heh, little mooncake, happy Mid-Autumn Festival!"
