Then Shark Warrior pressed forward, engaging Wen Wen in close-quarters combat.
His fist techniques were peculiar, each punch and kick possessing a terrifying might, and he seemed to employ some rather potent skills.
These techniques rendered Wen Wen's own abilities useless, completely suppressing him under Shark Warrior's assault. His frost longsword couldn't even touch the man.
Despite Wen Wen's superior strength and speed, he was forced to endure several attacks, leaving him sore all over.
Truly a powerhouse from the Disaster Upper Order; even with his strength temporarily reduced to the Middle Order, he was still a formidable opponent!
Thus, Wen Wen sheathed his longsword, ceasing his swordplay.
In close combat, Shark Warrior was far superior to Wen Wen. Continuing the fight would only result in Wen Wen being pummelled like a sandbag, and Wen Wen possessed more than just close-combat abilities.
He then created distance, his long hair flying, temporarily restricting Shark Warrior's movement.
Casually, Wen Wen produced two heavy hitters.
The佛说加特林 (Fo Shuo Gatling) and the Little Red Riding Hood's thermobaric rocket launcher!
"Monster, times have changed!"
Wen Wen sneered as he pulled the trigger. The thermobaric projectile detonated near Shark Warrior, instantly engulfing him in flames. The immense power, leaving him with nowhere to escape, caused his skin to crackle.
However, as the flames dissipated, Shark Warrior remained standing. Though severely injured, he hadn't lost his combat capability.
Even with his internal psionic energy affected by the 'Crimson Rose,' his physical resilience far surpassed that of an ordinary Middle Order powerhouse!
Shark Warrior panted heavily, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Wen Wen, consumed by a rage that bordered on madness.
Bombs! Another type of high-yield explosive!
That red bomb earlier must have been planted by this guy. He was being put in such a desperate situation by someone from the Middle Order!
Shark Warrior's body swelled once more, and he charged at Wen Wen with furious abandon. Each step he took on the ground created a massive crater, and Wen Wen's vision was filled with the man's afterimages.
Wen Wen could only retreat, hauling the massive bullet box and firing the Fo Shuo Gatling at him with a *dadadada*.
By the time the weight of the metal box significantly decreased, with only a few bullets remaining inside, Shark Warrior was still full of vigor. Wen Wen then fired another thermobaric round, and he finally quieted down.
"This guy, what a stubborn bull!"
Wen Wen looked at Shark Warrior with lingering fear. If the monster hadn't been driven mad by the thermobaric bomb and insisted on a head-on confrontation, Wen Wen wouldn't have taken him down so easily.
Furthermore, if Shark Warrior had decided to flee, Wen Wen might not have been able to catch him.
But now, it was all over. He had no chance to recover.
Wen Wen collected Shark Warrior into the containment facility, completely cutting off his escape route.
However, Shark Warrior had been beaten beyond recognition by Wen Wen and was also poisoned. He would likely be of no use for some time.
...
In the city center, below the building where Sarupol was located, a chaotic melee had erupted.
The situation was no longer just a lone struggle for Fear Butterfly and Fierce Beast. Of the initial eight 遊獵者 (You Lie Zhe - Hunter-Seekers), all six remaining individuals, excluding Wen Wen and Stealth Assassin, were here confronting the monsters.
In addition to them, there were several other Hunter-Seekers who had arrived later, similar to Chu Wei.
However, the Merman faction was not to be underestimated. They had several Middle Order monsters and over a dozen Lower Order monsters. Even without Sarupol's intervention, they were enough to fight the Hunter-Seekers to a standstill.
The battle between a large number of superhumans had turned the surrounding area into complete ruins. This was undoubtedly the focal point of the fighting in the entire Hua City.
Originally, Sarupol could have remained aloof and watched, conserving his strength to deal with Wu Wang.
But upon seeing the seductive giant flower, Sarupol felt a strong sense of unease. The land was far more dangerous than he had imagined.
He decided not to watch any longer. Ending the battle quickly and capturing Wu Wang was his priority.
Thus, a stream of water enveloped him, sending him towards the battlefield.
The Hunter-Seekers had been focused on Sarupol. As soon as they saw him move, all sorts of attacks were directed at him.
Bullets, flames, green butterflies, a giant truck being hurled, all manner of bizarre attacks were launched at Sarupol.
But Sarupol merely snorted lightly. The water flow around him blocked all these projectiles. As the water collided with the attacks, the surrounding temperature abruptly rose.
Then, Sarupol waved his hand towards the crowd, unleashing several water arrows.
Fear Butterfly dodged nimbly. Fierce Beast took a hit with his right arm. The thick right arm, which had remained uninjured throughout the prolonged combat, instantly bore a wound, and its fur showed signs of being scorched.
Chu Wei’s hand was directly melted by the water flow. He looked at Sarupol in horror and shrieked, "Damn it, is this thing really water?"
"Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius, dark red magma at five to six hundred degrees. Your water flow is probably thousands of degrees! This is utterly unscientific!"
Fear Butterfly glanced at Chu Wei with a strange expression. Seeking scientific reasoning in the world of superhumans, was this guy perhaps not thinking straight?
Moreover, speaking of unscientific, wasn't this fellow's immortality the truly unscientific aspect…
After Sarupol landed, the surrounding monsters scattered, grinning sinisterly at the Hunter-Seekers. They were in for trouble.
Since he had personally intervened, they no longer needed to get involved. Getting caught in his attacks was no laughing matter; those killed by him usually met a gruesome end. They didn't want to be caught in the crossfire.
Sarupol glared with his dead fish eyes, his two fish-like lips parting as he spoke, "I'm tired of playing. So, you foolish humans… die."
Without preamble or warning, a tornado-like stream of boiling water rose from beneath his feet. A large amount of water vapor radiated outwards from his center.
This water vapor transformed into white mist, shrouding the surroundings. Sarupol's figure disappeared into the air, the water mist serving as his perfect hiding place.
Unlike ordinary fog, the mist here was so hot it could cook a person whole. The Hunter-Seekers felt as if they were standing inside a volcano. Merely withstanding the intense heat required a great deal of effort.
Let alone extending their senses to pinpoint Sarupol's whereabouts.
Sarupol's form flickered in the mist, and his untraceable voice echoed, "This is Boiling Stone Martial Art, a power only possessed by the higher-ranked Boiling Stone Tribe. Within this water mist, I will kill you one by one."
Following his words, a scream rang out – the voice of a Lower Order Hunter-Seeker who had been attacked by Sarupol!
Fierce Beast realized that if this continued, they would all be picked off. He roared, "Everyone, gather around me! Take responsibility for one direction each, to avoid being ambushed!"
