Huan Meng Lie Ren

Chapter 324 Wicked Taste

After listening to Wen Wen's explanation, Little Red Riding Hood gritted her teeth and turned to run.

She couldn't quite imagine what fate awaited her if she fell into the hands of this pervert, but she certainly wouldn't surrender without a fight.

Watching her retreating back, Wen Wen let out a contemptuous laugh. Did she really think she could escape after hearing his explanation?

Green data streams flashed across his legs, and his already sprouted wings strained powerfully, propelling him forward like a rocket.

In his full-speed form, Wen Wen easily caught up to Little Red Riding Hood, then unceremoniously kicked her in the backside. The force sent her flying.

"You almost fried me, and you thought you could get away!"

Little Red Riding Hood clutched her throbbing backside and crashed into a building. Wen Wen followed her in.

The room contained two ordinary people and a goblin attendant. The attendant attempted to block Wen Wen for Little Red Riding Hood, but Wen Wen's wings thrust forward, piercing the small creature with their sharp tips before flinging it away.

Wen Wen had no interest in these minor monsters that weren't even Disaster-level.

Then, he approached Little Red Riding Hood with a sinister grin.

With nowhere left to flee, Little Red Riding Hood fought back fiercely. However, skilled as she was with firearms, she was no match for Wen Wen in such a confined space. She was quickly subdued, emitting a shrill scream.

The details of the subduing process are omitted for now. Suffice it to say, a moment later, Wen Wen, having returned to his normal human appearance with only his hair yet to grow back, emerged from the room with satisfaction, while Little Red Riding Hood had vanished.

Capturing another Disaster-level monster had increased his monster reserves, so he was naturally pleased.

Li Dazhuang watched Wen Wen with a touch of emotion. His memories had returned, and he now remembered who Wen Wen was, having been saved by him at least three times. He hadn't expected to see Wen Wen again here.

Fate truly was a peculiar thing.

Bai Xiaomi, on the other hand, wasn't as contemplative. She was only concerned with whether her mission was considered a failure now that Wen Wen himself had arrived.

Wen Wen had no intention of exchanging pleasantries with the two of them. He ignored Bai Xiaomi and, picking up the incapacitated Li Dazhuang, found Tao Wen, whom Li Dazhuang had hidden. Concealing his aura, he sprinted away.

The moment Bai Xiaomi disappeared from Li Dazhuang's sight, Wen Wen subtly moved his hand, drawing her into the containment facility.

Now that he had arrived in Fairytale Town himself, Bai Xiaomi was no longer needed.

Li Dazhuang wanted to ask Wen Wen why he wasn't concerned about Bai Xiaomi, but recalling the scene of Bai Xiaomi devouring the werewolf, he swallowed his words. Instead, he asked, "Mr. Wen, why are we running?"

Wen Wen explained, "We can't stay here long. The commotion from the recent fight was too great, and other monsters are already on their way. We need to leave promptly. By the way, are there any places here that monsters usually avoid?"

Li Dazhuang thought for a moment and replied, "There are, but those places are filled with terrifying demon insects..."

He was referring to the area teeming with cockroach-like demon insects, a place only the Poker Soldiers frequented, and where monsters rarely went themselves.

However, for Li Dazhuang, those cockroaches were dangerous enough.

"Insects are nothing. You lead the way, and we'll talk as we go."

Soon, the two arrived at the courtyard. The demon insects had all returned to the large pit, awaiting the Poker Soldiers to deliver the corpses.

Wen Wen jumped into the courtyard and, after a brief glance at the demon insects, blew a breath towards the pit and snapped his fingers. The entire pit erupted in intense flames.

After burning for about ten seconds, the insects in the pit were all dead. Wen Wen inhaled again, and the flames were instantly extinguished.

What was a formidable challenge for Li Dazhuang, the demon insects were merely things Wen Wen could easily eliminate.

After settling down, Li Dazhuang expressed his gratitude to Wen Wen, saying, "Detective Wen, you've saved me several times now. You saved me again this time. In the future, if you ever need my help, I will not refuse."

"It's nothing, it's just my job," Wen Wen replied casually. He wasn't surprised that Li Dazhuang recognized him, as the memory eraser's effects only worked on ordinary people.

"Then can you check on Tao Wen? Like me, he was manipulated into becoming a Poker Soldier, and he's currently unconscious. I..."

Wen Wen chuckled, "This is simple for me. I can wake him up right now."

He looked at Tao Wen and noticed a flyer clutched tightly in his hand. Wen Wen picked up the paper with curiosity, and his expression immediately turned as dark as the bottom of a pot.

'A perverted hunter has infiltrated Fairytale Town. Report immediately upon discovery.'

This was likely a wanted poster issued by the high authorities of Fairytale Town. But why did they know his codename? And not only that, but "perverted hunter"...

With this wanted poster, it seemed to further validate Sforlmo's suspicions, because without an inside source, these monsters wouldn't have been able to obtain his codename.

He shook his head and continued examining Tao Wen. He placed his hand on Tao Wen's body, and a soft glow permeated him.

In just a few seconds, Wen Wen discovered the crux of the problem. Within Tao Wen's body were several strange insects, which were likely controlling his will, making him a willing Poker Soldier.

Wen Wen deliberately increased the light output, effortlessly killing all the insects in his body. Then, he took out his Cat Ear Cup, prepared a concoction to induce vomiting, and poured it into Tao Wen's mouth.

Throughout the entire process, Li Dazhuang quietly watched Wen Wen's actions. He knew he understood nothing and so he just needed to watch Wen Wen.

The potion's effect was rapid, acting almost immediately after consumption. Tao Wen sat up and began to retch onto the ground. The vomit was dark green and contained the corpses of some ugly worms. After vomiting, Tao Wen became noticeably weaker.

Li Dazhuang looked at the worms with a pale face and asked, "Why are there such disgusting things in Tao Wen's stomach? I was also controlled, so I..."

"That's right, you have them too. However, these insects only seem to affect ordinary people, so they didn't work on you," Wen Wen replied with a nod.

Li Dazhuang's complexion turned even paler, as if he might vomit at any moment. Trembling, he asked Wen Wen, "So, does that mean these things are still inside me?"

"They shouldn't be," Wen Wen replied, shaking his head. This caused Li Dazhuang's face to brighten.

Then Wen Wen added, "The stomach acid of superhumans is very strong. These insects are merely protein to superhumans, so you should have digested them completely by now..."

Li Dazhuang finally couldn't hold back any longer and ran to the bathroom of the room, starting to retch.

Meanwhile, Wen Wen was covering his mouth, suppressing a smile. Often, his sense of humor was quite wicked.
