Chapter 262 The Enormous Iron Bed

"What do you mean, 'assistant'? I don't understand," Zhu Haiyang said blankly.

Wen Wen sat at the top of the stairs, smiling as he watched Zhu Haiyang. The more Wen Wen looked, the more flustered Zhu Haiyang became, until his expression could no longer be maintained.

He quickly reached for his lower back, where a handgun was tucked. As a trained assistant, he was confident he could apprehend this ordinary assistant.

But after fumbling behind his back, cold sweat immediately broke out on his forehead. His gun was gone. The gun holster contained only a physiotherapy device of similar weight.

Ah… Wen Wen had secretly swapped them while Zhu Haiyang was dizzy in the hospital room.

Wen Wen toyed with a black handgun and looked at Zhu Haiyang with amusement, saying, "You were too careless. From the moment you noticed something unusual about me, you should have ensured your weapon was secure."

Then, he casually disassembled the handgun into parts and said, "I can't let you shoot. I don't want more people coming before I finish my business."

"When did you find out?" Zhu Haiyang asked, somewhat despairingly.

He knew the fate of an apprehended assistant. The only survivor he had ever seen had returned looking like a gaunt old man, though he was only twenty-three years old that year.

Wen Wen placed a hand on his chin and said, "You made too many mistakes. For example, you and your two classmates weren't close enough to form a group to go out and play. You were completely focused on me, and you seemed very familiar with this place. It was also illogical for you to insist on coming with me…"

After pointing out a string of Zhu Haiyang's oversights, Wen Wen smacked his lips and said, "Of course, being as astute as I am, I knew you were not normal from the moment you struck up a conversation with me."

"This place being contracted by a theme park is probably fake. You knew there was something wrong here, but you didn't know what it was, so you kept letting ordinary people come here for 'adventures'."

Zhu Haiyang swayed, his face pale, and said, "Then why didn't you kill me at the beginning?"

"Because it's fun, of course," Wen Wen replied without hesitation, making it seem as if that was genuinely how he felt.

Zhu Haiyang gritted his teeth but dared not retort to Wen Wen.

"I don't want to kill you, but it's not good to let you run around, so you'll be following me from now on."

Wen Wen gave Zhu Haiyang a bright smile. In the faint moonlight, that smile sent a chill to his core.

A moment later, Zhu Haiyang's hands were bound, and a collar was placed around his neck. The end of the chain attached to the collar was held in Wen Wen's hand.

"Kill me, or I won't let you go!" Zhu Haiyang snarled at Wen Wen, his neck stiff, after being insulted by the dog collar.

"I look forward to your revenge," Wen Wen smiled even more radiantly.

Wen Wen had no intention of killing Zhu Haiyang. Strictly speaking, he was a colleague of Wen Wen's. Impersonating a tourist here was fine, but if something went wrong, it would be life-threatening.

However, Wen Wen disliked them using ordinary people as bait, and he didn't want the Hunter Association to interfere with matters here. Therefore, he played this trick on Zhu Haiyang.

After dealing with Zhu Haiyang's issue, Wen Wen looked at the massive iron lock on the iron gate.

He confidently took out two iron wires, preparing to pick the lock. As a detective, lock-picking was a basic skill.

But to Wen Wen's surprise, the lock couldn't be opened this way.

"Give up. To prevent anyone from entering, our Qianhe City Association used a special lock and iron gate here. You can't open it. Before you can open the iron gate, my colleagues will notice my abnormal state, and then you'll be finished."

Zhu Haiyang mocked Wen Wen, still unaware that Wen Wen was a superpowered individual.

Wen Wen rolled his eyes, looking at Zhu Haiyang as if he were an idiot.

He produced a small hammer from somewhere and struck the connection between the iron gate and the wall. After a few blows, to Zhu Haiyang's astonishment, he detached the iron gate.

"The gate is special, but the wall isn't."

With that said, Wen Wen led Zhu Haiyang onto the fourth floor, eager to see what awaited them there.

Zhu Haiyang's scalp tingled. The fourth floor was the only anomalous area in the entire psychiatric hospital. They had sealed it off to prevent ordinary people from entering by mistake.

Unlike the third floor, the fourth floor was vast, with no internal walls except for the load-bearing ones, and no additional decorations, only a massive iron bed in the center.

Wen Wen remembered this iron bed; it was where he had woken up previously.

He walked directly towards the iron bed. Even after half a year, there was no dust on it.

Wen Wen's actions greatly surprised Zhu Haiyang. He could get so close to this iron bed!

The iron bed was the only supernatural object in the entire psychiatric hospital. The Association had wanted to remove it, but no one could get near it!

Wen Wen glanced at Zhu Haiyang and guessed what was going on. To him, it was just an iron bed, but to others, this thing might pose a great danger.

From the moment he entered the third floor, he had sensed something calling to him from the rooftop. That something was clearly this iron bed.

The Containment Facility showed no reaction, indicating that the call was directed at him and unrelated to the Facility… at least, not on the surface.

After a moment of thought, Wen Wen released Zhu Haiyang's rope and said to him, "You can go. When you leave, also drive out those ordinary people. I suspect something will happen soon."

He knew that once he began exploring, it could trigger widespread anomalous events, but he didn't want ordinary people to get involved.

Zhu Haiyang looked at Wen Wen suspiciously, first reaching into his pocket and pressing a few buttons. Seeing that Wen Wen did not stop him, he became bolder.

"Report this, quickly drive those ordinary people out…"

Suddenly, Wen Wen's eyes widened. A strange impulse surged within him, giving him a feeling of being unable to control himself. Then, he slowly sat down on the iron bed.

Something was about to begin!

Wen Wen wanted to enter the Containment Facility but found that the Facility was subtly rejecting him. While he could force his way in, it might lead to undesirable consequences.

So, he immediately roared at Zhu Haiyang with a ferocious expression, "Get out!"

Seeing that the situation was wrong, Zhu Haiyang turned and ran. Assistants were specially trained for such situations.

Only now did he realize that Wen Wen didn't have any ill intentions towards him; otherwise, he wouldn't have let him go.

Zhu Haiyang now had only one thought: to get everyone out before whatever was about to happen occurred.

He had a feeling that something was expanding behind him.

Wen Wen had been trying to resist, but he couldn't control his body. He lay down on the iron bed and involuntarily closed his eyes.

Then…

Darkness spread!
