Chapter 371: Chapter 369 Overdid the Bluffing?
"Is it my turn to take a shot now!?"
When Le Yu put down the long gun, Li Ying shamelessly scooted over and asked, and Le Yu froze for a second, "Why do you want to shoot?"
"Isn’t it every student’s dream to openly fire a gun at the Academy?" Li Ying declared, as if it were self-evident, "The three dreams of Imperial Academy students: Blow up the Platinum Tower, gunfights every day, fuck the exams, and shine in freedom forever!"
They even had a rhyme for it. Le Yu’s impression of Imperial Academy students’ sheer audacity leveled up—maybe this was just Cha Huan’s karma biting him in the ass, you know what kind of principal you are by the kind of students you raise. Since Cha Huan was always thinking up ways to torment students’ minds and bodies, he shouldn’t blame them for dreaming of blowing up his office as their ultimate aspiration.
"Don’t even think about it, I’m not gonna let you touch it." Le Yu casually broke down the long gun into seven components, as smoothly as a magic trick, and Qin Yueshi and Li Ying didn’t even bat an eye—they’d just seen Le Yu take parts from a box and assemble the long gun in three seconds flat.
This kind of gun-handling skill, all four "rides" had trained before—maybe because guns were men’s romance, or maybe these top-tier murder tools were just essential for the kinds of conspirators those four were. Qian Yuliu had light pistol shooting in the military academy, Yin Yin had basic firearms skills, Zhengwei specialized in shotgun shooting, and Qin Yinyin, a master of Lingxu Battle Technique, had precision shooting locked down.
As for these shooting specialties, Le Yu sure hadn’t inherited them, but he had some hazy memories in his mind. So things like assembling firearms, he picked up after a little practice, and as for shooting at stationary targets, he just nailed it without a hitch—hitting anything within a hundred yards, no sweat.
"To put it simply," Le Yu felt like he was playing an FPS game while shooting, and as long as the ’crosshair’ in his spirit was on target, the bullet would hit exactly there. "Glorious" people did seem to have this natural gift for shooting—Spiritual Power was like an auto-aim hack for headshots, and a trained Lingxu Blossom Martial Artist could even guarantee hitting a moving target within a kilometer—without even using a scope.
Though it sounded easy, in Le Yu’s little cheat squad, only he had this "I shoot, therefore I am accurate" level of skill; the others just weren’t on that level. It wasn’t that girls didn’t like playing with guns, but regular people didn’t have that kind of firearm experience—just like regular people didn’t have Coldblooded Physique, Hidden Sword Technique, Qinri Harmony Technique, Blood-Drinking Hachido Flow ...
These four "rides" that Le Yu had looted with his ’F’ key—they sure couldn’t help him enjoy a chill, rich harem life, but when it came to criminal activities like killing, arson, looting, and genocide, their professional skills and experience could give Le Yu a major assist.
As long as Le Yu wasn’t up to anything good, searching their memories always turned up the tech support he needed.
Watching Le Yu pack up, Li Ying said regretfully, "Just once, just one shot, can’t I? Let me shoot just once, pleeease, Mr. Qin—"
"No." Le Yu flicked her on the forehead with a snap of his fingers, "Don’t think I can just shoot willy-nilly and not be held responsible... Plus, you and I are not the same. If you get in trouble as a student, you can’t answer for it, but if I do as a teacher, I can take responsibility. Got it?"
"Nope." Li Ying rubbed her forehead and shook her head.
"What I mean is, even though I *could* let you play, I don’t want trouble, so you don’t get to, and you have to listen to my lecture on integrity." Le Yu turned his head and noticed Qin Yueshi observing Ming Yueyan, then he said offhandedly, "She’s my hostage now, I’m taking her to do bad stuff later, don’t bother with her."
"Oh oh oh!" Li Ying nodded like a pecking chick, "I didn’t see anything, I’ve never seen Mr. Qin around here, and I definitely didn’t see any female student being abducted by a male teacher."
Li Ying was so quick on the uptake, Le Yu almost felt like letting her fire a shot for fun. The "hostage" Ming Yueyan remained silent—she didn’t say a word, didn’t provoke Le Yu, nor did she appeal to the others’ sympathy. Instead, she just watched their interaction with real interest.
"I remember, you were one of the Radiant Celestial Maidens, right?" Qin Yueshi suddenly said.
"Honestly, I feel a bit awkward about that title," Ming Yueyan blinked, "But the other girls seem pretty happy with it... Hi, I’m Ming Yueyan."
"Qin Yueshi." She briefly introduced herself, then turned to Le Yu, "So, are we done here?"
"Yeah, you guys better take your stuff and go. This place is gonna get dangerous soon," Le Yu said, "Unless something goes wrong, your Eye of Omniscience exam is over—everyone else is probably copying the answers in the test room by now."
Le Yu and crew had picked the most brutal method to pass along answers—carving them right into the wall of the exam room.
Le Yu shot at the wall according to the answer key: for the first option, the bullet hole was on the top row; for the last, it was at the bottom, and so on... Once he was done, the wall showed a row of neat, violently artistic bullet hole answers.
Of course, Le Yu and the crew also left hidden traps in the answers—even this kind of code was way too easy to crack. If someone else figured it out, wouldn’t they just be giving away free points? So, for every four answers, only the last three were correct, and the first slot was shot at random.
Even if Ming Shuiyun messed up copying at first, once she realized the number of bullet holes didn’t match the number of answers, she’d know exactly what she did wrong.
Compared to more subtle cheating, Le Yu’s method was definitely the most efficient and least error-prone—but the downside was having to pay for all the Academy property he just destroyed. The reason he’d winked at Cha Huan just now wasn’t some random whim—it was to show the shadow-watching Cha Huan his attitude, "Cha Huan, I’m about to start shooting, I’ll own up!"
If Le Yu hadn’t stepped up just then, the second he fired at the teaching building, Cha Huan would’ve flown in from the Platinum Tower to kill him on the spot—gladly, too.
Once Le Yu finished that row of answers, and Cha Huan just played senile and ignored it, it was a sign he was willing to accept this method of cheating. But of course, the bill would come later—maybe next year the Imperial Academy would see a new toilet building, exclusively named after the Qin Family. It wasn’t Le Yu being mean—there were already a ton of government-official-named toilets at the Academy, and Cha Huan was absolutely that petty.
But Le Yu least worried about paying; with side cash from the "Unrivaled List," he could totally afford to "whale" a bit in this Sword-Seeking competition game for a little edge. Besides, the money wasn’t gone—it just turned into bullets, into higher scores, right alongside his friends.
"Mr. Qin, you know, I helped you out, but I still wasted my registration fee, and I didn’t get to take the Eye of Omniscience exam, so..." Li Ying rubbed her thumb and forefinger together, making a Silver Blood Association universal gesture.
"Didn’t I let you fill in for somebody else in class? And I promised that as long as you’re signed up, you’ll pass all your electives with a perfect score, even if you skip," Le Yu gave her a look like, ’you greedy little thing,’ "What more do you want?"
Li Ying was shocked, "That wasn’t a benefit? That still counts as a reward?"
"So, do you get what surplus value theory means now? I own the means of production, so I get to be shameless. Young people, just let yourselves be exploited—don’t overthink it." Le Yu cracked a joke or two, then said, "But since you had the nerve to bring it up, come on, what do you want?"
Li Ying knew Le Yu was kidding and answered seriously, "I want to intern at the Steam Chamber of Commerce."
The Steam Chamber of Commerce was the joint venture of the Qin and Shi Families. It wasn’t surprising that Li Ying knew Qin Yinyin was in charge of the Chamber—anyone who looked into it a bit could find out; but still ...
"You want to be a businesswoman?" Le Yu raised an eyebrow, "An Imperial Academy student, wanting to go into business?"
For a split second, Le Yu wondered if his elective had oversold the dream—a student who actually believed stepping into the "Silver Blood Eight Greats" mindset could turn them into a real merchant, scamming and slicing up profits together?
