Ji Xiang unfurled his Sea of Bitterness world, instantly drawing all the blood fetuses within into it. Inside the Sea of Bitterness, a hundred thousand Dao-Lost demons roamed the heavens and earth. Though these blood fetuses possessed a fierce nature from birth, they were not yet overly ferocious, and had never witnessed such a terrifying scene. They saw yellow waves swallowing souls, and the Dao-Lost demons wreaking havoc on people's minds. Eerie wails and ghostly cries echoed, drawing nearer from afar, and from time to time, great Dao-Lost demons would wander by, their indistinct faces bearing only two narrow, extremely eerie eyes.
These blood-fetus children trembled uncontrollably, fear gripping them. This was the second time they had felt such terror since Ji Xiang displayed his might, a fear that had seeped into their very bones. The Dao-Lost demons in the distance stared at them as if they were abominations that should not exist in the world.
Within the Sea of Bitterness, two others also discovered these blood fetuses.
"What are your commands, Venerable Master?"
The young warrior and the old monk, seeing that the things Ji Xiang had sent in this time were extraordinary, made their guesses and came forward to pay their respects.
"You two shall care for these blood fetuses. As for this blood child, I will keep him by my side."
Ji Xiang instructed the two to look after the blood fetuses, having already decided on a new name for these blood fetuses born against the natural order of Yin and Yang: Demon Children.
This Sea of Bitterness world was like a demonic kingdom. First came the Sea of Bitterness, then the two individuals who had entered the demonic path, the young warrior and the old monk, followed by the transformation of a hundred thousand Dao-Lost demons. Afterward, the Great Desolation of the Yin God became the lord of ghosts and spirits, also possessing the authority to enter the Sea of Bitterness. Today, with the addition of these Demon Children, this demonic kingdom grew ever stronger.
"Venerable Master, forgive my frankness, but these... blood fetuses, they appear to be malevolent entities, certainly not born of natural means. They are even more bizarre than the creations of Emperor Jinmu."
The young warrior discovered the strangeness of these blood fetuses. Whether it was their appearance or their aura, they exuded an extremely twisted feeling. Just by looking at them for a moment, even he, a master of the Pure Yang realm, felt as if a hundred insects were crawling within his acupoints. Upon approaching them, he felt his qi circulation become slightly obstructed.
"Indeed, these are malevolent entities manufactured by the Yin World. I am not entirely clear on their origins, but these blood fetuses possess the ability to consume the blood of others and transform into their blood originators. The more blood they drink, the more they resemble the original, and they can inherit the original's innate talent and abilities."
These words were earth-shattering. Even Miyamoto Musashi, who had been subjected to ghost and spirit techniques by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, could not help but change color. The young warrior murmured,
"This is no longer the art of ghosts and spirits... If Emperor Jinmu were to learn of this, he would surely be overjoyed!"
This was practically a divinely bestowed physical body. For Xu Fu, who relied on the form of ghosts and spirits to exist in this world, having a perfect body to inhabit was his lifelong desire. Now, within Xu Fu's secret hoard, there were still over twenty child corpses left from the Qin Dynasty. If these blood fetuses were to consume the corpse blood of those Qin children, it would be as if those Qin children had been resurrected!
The perfect bodies could return to their appearance when they were alive. Those Qin children were carefully selected by Qin Shi Huang for Xu Fu to use in his search for the overseas divine mountains. They were the cream of the crop in terms of innate talent.
"Xu Fu had previously attempted to negotiate with the Yin World. I now suspect that what he sought to obtain from the Yin World was precisely these blood fetuses."
"This must have been studied for a long time to be created, certainly not something that could be achieved in one or three to five years. It reverses the laws of Yin and Yang movement, as if turning stillness into motion. A person standing still is inherently static, but now the static has become dynamic, while running results in standing still..."
Ji Xiang's description made it difficult for the two to visualize in their minds. They could not imagine how a static state could become dynamic while the inherent concept of the static existence remained unchanged.
"The shadow of a flying bird, yet it does not move?"
Ji Xiang said casually, sparking endless imagination in the two.
Perhaps this fantasy described by the ancients was the best interpretation of reversing the laws of Yin and Yang movement.
"Teach these blood fetuses well, familiarize them with the ways of the demonic path, but be sure not to let them drink your blood, and always be vigilant against their attacks."
Ji Xiang was not certain if these blood fetuses would attack others proactively, but from the words of the King of Joseon, it seemed possible.
The young warrior and the old monk dared not delay. After responding, they dispersed the approaching Dao-Lost demons. Ji Xiang also instantly vanished from the Sea of Bitterness world, taking the blood child away from his demonic kingdom.
The blood child, meanwhile, stood rigidly, seemingly afraid to speak.
Although he was ignorant, in the world he had just been in, there were too many beings capable of killing him. The Dao-Lost demons were everywhere, each one no less terrifying than he was, and most even more so.
He knew it was a dangerous place, and he knew even more that if he wanted to preserve his "life" in this world after his birth, he could only rely on the "great demon" beside him!
"Wait... you can't leave!"
Ji Xiang was preparing to leave with the blood child when he unexpectedly found that the King of Joseon, who had just been stunned by the lightning technique, had actually woken up.
And when Ji Xiang entered the Sea of Bitterness, he had deactivated his Shadow God state, which was why he could be seen by him.
The King of Joseon pushed himself up from the ground, covered in mud. His appearance shifted constantly between that of an old man, a youth, a woman, and his original kingly form. Finally, with layers of ghostly shadows undulating on his body, he successfully reverted to his original kingly appearance.
"A mortal, struck by a lightning technique, and able to awaken in such a short time... Which Heavenly Venerate did you sacrifice to, O Song God? You have been granted many good abilities."
"As expected, someone was eavesdropping. It was you! Immortal!"
The King of Joseon stared fixedly at Ji Xiang. "Back in the Jingling Hall, the Heavenly Venerate mentioned that walls might have ears. He had already sensed someone spying and had set up a barrier. At that time, I thought that if anyone in Joseon dared and had the ability to spy on the Heavenly Venerate, it could only be you, the Immortal."
"Immortal, where are you taking my child? That is the hope of strengthening my nation, and I fear I cannot let you take him away."
"If the court were to find out, could I still survive?"
Ji Xiang placed a hand on the blood child's head. "Your actions are already a rebellion against the laws of heaven and earth. Such creations should not exist in this world. Heaven sent thunder as a warning, but did not unleash lightning because heaven always gives living beings a sliver of hope. If you were to wield this now to kill, or to become a lackey of the Song Dynasty, you would eventually truly transform into a malevolent entity. At that time, it would rain blood, ghosts would cry at night, bones would be exposed in the wilderness, the world would fall into chaos, and your nation's fortune would not last long."
"The Song Dynasty merely wishes to possess a borrowed corpse to return its spirit in your Joseon. Do not let temporary gains blind you."
The King of Joseon's expression turned manic, and he suddenly burst into laughter.
