Chapter 962: Chapter 506: Twisted Balance and Fragment_2
Boom!
Chucher raised his hammer-axe high, barely withstanding the hit, but his Spiritual Energy was severely disrupted, fractures appeared in his Soul, blood spurted from his body, and he was gravely injured.
Immediately, a black light pierced through the air and swallowed him up.
Rod shouted anxiously, "Chucher!"
But his figure had already vanished within the black light, devoured by the King of Worms.
On the other side, the Wind’s Phantom was shattered by the Great Demon God’s two punches.
Fifteenth-level Spiritual Power was indeed too strong—if not for the upgraded Phantom, Rod’s Soul would have suffered severe damage.
The situation was dire; with Chucher devoured, Rod couldn’t flee. While heavily injured, Chucher couldn’t withstand the King of Worms’ corrosion.
Rod’s mind raced; summoning the Red War God with the Giant God Power at this point was unlikely to secure victory.
The Great Demon God was a Fifth Tier monster; even in the Red War God’s state, a one-on-one would not be victorious.
Activating "Spirit Tide" and using Spiritual Power Multiple Melodies was the best way to deal with strong enemies.
But without companions to help hold off the monster, the Multiple Melodies would be interrupted in seconds.
What to do?
Rod quickly reviewed his held items, his gaze locking onto the "Twisted Balance."
Twisted Balance: It disrupts the rise and fall of Spiritual Energy chaotically, altering the intensity within a certain range while maintaining overall balance.
It was a special artifact from the Dream Realm upon entering the City of Chaos, and Rod had long forgotten about it, having never found the right time to use it.
But now, it seemed it could be used.
Without hesitation, Rod retrieved it and instantly crushed it.
A formless twisted wave immediately spread through the space, enveloping the entire nest.
The air became thick and murky, and Rod distinctly felt a new Law descend.
The world’s rules had changed.
Massive Spiritual Energies began to exchange; strictly speaking, within this area were only Rod, the Great Demon God, and the King of Worms. After Chucher was devoured, he didn’t actually remain in this space.
Rod’s Spiritual Power Level was Twelth Level, the King of Worms was Fourteen Level, and the Great Demon God was Fifteenth Level.
His Spiritual Energy was the weakest; theoretically, as long as the "Twisted Balance" maintained overall balance, Rod had a high probability of benefiting.
Of course, with bad luck, it could have made him weaker.
Rod firmly believed his luck wasn’t that bad. Indeed, seconds later, massive Spiritual Energy began to surge towards Rod, escalating his Spiritual Energy at an unprecedented speed, while the King of Worms and the Great Demon God’s Spiritual Energy plummeted at an unimaginable rate.
Soon, the Spiritual Energy reached a new balance.
Rod clenched his fists, smiling at the weakened King of Worms and the Great Demon God. Even though his luck wasn’t exceptional and his Spiritual Energy didn’t far surpass theirs, it was nearly equal.
With equivalent Spiritual Energy, the monsters weren’t his match at all.
"Hahaha, indeed, I am the one who shatters the darkness."
Rod effortlessly dodged the King of Worms and the Great Demon God’s continuous attacks, countering with a swift sword strike.
[Divine Strike]
Swoosh!
The Star Sword pierced directly through the Great Demon God’s Spiritual Defense, creating a massive void in its Soul.
Rod casually grabbed, and the Great Demon God’s bulky form collapsed with a thud, black dust billowing up.
Simultaneously, Rod raised his left hand, drawing the Star Sword upward.
Bam!
The Black Blade, dozens of times larger, was easily blocked, its Spiritual Energy clash evenly matched.
But Rod was much more agile; with a slide, he appeared behind it, right hand wielding Star Shuttle, left hand Star Sword, wildly slashing and stabbing, targeting its wounded spots.
The King of Worms couldn’t resist and attempted to devour Rod with a vortex of black light.
However, Rod was ready, dodging it with a swift move, his attacks relentless.
After repeatedly sustaining severe injuries, the King of Worms finally couldn’t hold on, a huge void appeared in its Soul, and Rod didn’t even use [Divine Strike].
As his right hand reached into its Soul, the monster that had caused them countless troubles fell.
Its Soul shattered into pieces, the subspace within its Soul exploded, spilling its contents everywhere, Chucher among them.
He was unconscious, but seemed not too badly injured.
Rod breathed a sigh of relief and turned to the summoning item.
It was a gold artifact, seemingly a noble’s collectible, with a Dream Fragment inside.
Rod gently touched it, and a familiar scorching sensation pierced through his Soul, several intricate patterns appearing on the back of his hand.
Good!
Rod felt invigorated, having recovered another Dream Fragment, moving a step closer to fully restoring the Dream Realm.
One day, I will witness the complete Dream Realm and uncover all its secrets!
Rod clenched his fist.
He didn’t enter the Dream Realm immediately; instead, he called Mephit and the others down and collected all the King of Worms’ contents.
These need to be identified by the people at the Mechanical Research Institute, to determine what’s useless trash and what’s a treasure.
Seeing the scene before them, Anna and Frank were utterly shocked, especially Anna, who personally witnessed the monsters’ power, yet Rod had defeated them in the blink of an eye.
At this point, the effect of the "Twisted Balance" had vanished, and the space returned to normal.
Anna couldn’t imagine how he did it; Rod didn’t explain, only continuously bragging, making others feel a surge of adrenaline.
