Chapter 273 Greeted by a Battle

Chapter 273: Chapter 273 Greeted by a Battle

Damon’s gaze softened. "Master..."

I raised my hands, cutting his words off. "I want to rest." I turned away from him, resting my head on the tree.

"As you wish." He said reluctantly before going back to his resting spot.

The moment he left, tears streamed down my face. ’Don’t panic Ember, you’ll find a way out of this.’ I chanted in my head.

Today’s encounter with the mysterious lady reminded me of my past life. She saw through me, my shoulders trembled.

’Go with the wind, wherever it might take you.’ White the butterfly voice rang through my head.

"The wind is turning to a cyclone now, I wonder if I’ll be able to survive it," I muttered under my breath.

I closed my eyes, deep down I still felt incomplete... "Lyla," I muttered unconsciously. My hands clenched tightly, my brows furrowed.

The memories of her danced at the edge of my mind. I felt like there was too much going on in my life that I could not fathom it all.

’Should I tell Damon?’ One part of my mind suggested.

’No, I can’t. This is my life... I won’t drag him into this. It was my decision and I’ll face whatever the consequences are... the most important thing right now is to learn what a Chosen is, and to get Lyla back...’ I paused. ’Going back to the Bloodshade pack is not a bad idea... I can find more information on my wolf and pay respect to Lydia and Caroline...’

I snapped my eyes open, ’I need to leave here... My time is running out.’ I struggled to my feet.

Damon stood up immediately, walking towards me. "What are you doing Aeris?"

"Getting us to your realm." I wiped away my tears with the back of my hand.

"But you..."

Before he could finish his word, a golden light tore through the air, I closed my eyes, envisioning the Bloodshade pack, the portal grew bigger and bigger whirring with a hum.

"Let’s get out of here." My voice was solemn.

Damon sighed in defeat, "I’ll go first." Without waiting for my response he stepped inside the portal, then I followed behind him, the portal disappeared into thin air immediately my form disappeared into it.

The familiar air invaded my nostrils, when I opened my eyes, I let out a shaky breath, and my lips quivered as we stood in front of the Bloodshade castle.

My hands clenched into a fist, my breath burned in my throat as memories played in my head.

"You got it right this time Master," Damon’s lips pulled into a smile, however it flattered the next moment.

His eyes hardened, and veins popped from his neck, a guttural growl rumbled from his throat, his claws elongated and his fangs lengthened.

"What is the meaning of..." Before I could finish my words he cut in.

"We are under attack."

I raised my gaze, the castle gate was flooded with wolves fighting each other.

"Get on, Aeris."

When I turned to him, he was already in his wolf form. His white fur shimmered under the sunlight, he was intimidating and untamed as always.

I waved my hands and a portal formed in front of us. "Get in," I ordered.

His silver grey eyes met mine for a moment, his eyes burned with fury, yet they softened the moment they met mine. He looked at the portal before us, and he glanced at me one last time before leaping into the portal.

As soon as he disappeared into the other side, blood spattered from my lips. My heart clenched tightly in my chest.

I had figured out why I died a few moments ago... It was my power, the more I used it... the faster I grew weaker.

I inhaled sharply, before stepping inside the portal. The moment my foot touched the ground on the other side, my ocean blue eyes turned to a shade of purple with golden rings.

The metallic smell of blood invaded my nostrils, followed by the gruesome view of dismembered bodies and blood flowing on the ground like a river.

This time, I was inside the castle war. The Bloodshade pack rushed to the city gate, fending off the rogues attacking, both sides had suffered heavy injuries, yet they were not willing to back down.

A big golden brown wolf... no, it was a Lycan and a black wolf fought in the front line, blood covered their furs. They seemed to have been fighting for a long time.

Then, a white Lycan blurred through the battle, tearing and killing off any rogue in his path. The wolves stopped fighting for a moment, their eyes fixated on the big white Lycan, the Bloodshade let out a victorious howl, seeing him gave them the hope they wouldn’t perish today.

Beowulf stood in front of his pack, his eyes momentarily flickering to the golden brown wolf by his side, a look of surprise and pride flickered through his eyes.

He turned his gaze back to the rogues. The rogues’ tucked their tails in between their hind legs, their heads bowing slightly in a cowered manner.

They retreated, however as if they had been given an order, they began to attack furiously again.

Beowulf, blurred through them, leaving a pile of dismembered bodies in his path, his once white fur had turned red.

I remained inside the castle... my eyes scanned the surroundings. A nostalgic feeling hit me in waves, this was the place I once thought of as home. The places where the people I called family once lived.

My heart turned bitter, the Bloodshade pack had taken more than they had given to me... now I wondered if they were even worth saving.

Suddenly, green smoke exploded in the air, and the bloodshade wolves began to fall one after the other.

"Witches’ spells," I muttered, my brows narrowing. As if to confirm my suspicion, the witches flew in the sky with their sticks, their eerie laugh echoed through the air.

The wolves began struggling to breathe... "Should I help them? If I do, I’ll die faster, and if I don’t they will die... can I live with the guilt?"
