Chapter 97: An Enemy of Broken Heaven is Our Enemy

Chapter 97: An Enemy of Broken Heaven is Our Enemy

"Don’t tell me we missed him already?" Bunny frowned.

The trio—Bunny, Ragnarok99, and SniperbowLegend—had just arrived from hunting.

They had logged into the forum and heard that Broken Heaven was currently present in Red Fang City, but now that they were here, he was nowhere to be found.

The only people around were excited players looking at their weapons with fascination and testing their skills.

Soon, the players present noticed their arrival and started whispering.

It was quite rare to see top professional gamers in one place, so it caused quite the buzz.

"Hey there," Bunny approached one of the players, who gulped a mouthful of saliva, unable to believe that the famous Bunny was talking to him.

"Y-yes," he managed to stutter, face flushing red.

Ignoring the player’s flustered state, Bunny asked, "Did you by chance come across an NPC—over 6ft, red hair, and blue eyes?"

"Y-yes! You mean Sir Broken?"

"Yes, him," Bunny nodded.

"He left not too long ago!" shouted another player from the side.

"Wait, did he give you all these treasures?" Ragnarok99 suddenly asked.

"Yes, he did!" they chorused excitedly.

"Damn it, we were too late!" Ragnarok99 cursed under his breath.

"I don’t get it. I thought he would be in the capital city." Bunny frowned.

"Maybe he decided to change his mind," SniperbowLegend replied.

Suddenly, the air rippled and the players that had been killed two hours ago began to respawn.

However, one person was missing... IceQueen, the guild leader.

"It seems like someone is too embarrassed to show herself," Ragnarok99 laughed. His relationship with IceQueen and ChaosCleric wasn’t particularly great.

In fact, one could even call them mortal enemies.

Therefore, he found pleasure in watching the highlights of her shameful defeat. He had even placed it on replay, watching it over and over again on their way here.

There was an anxious, pale look on ChaosCleric’s face as he scanned the surroundings. He seemed to be looking for someone.

’Is he gone already?’ he inwardly sighed in relief, but then his previous arrogance seemed to return as he shot a glare at the players present.

"You fools!" he bellowed, his eyes ablaze with anger. "How dare you side with our enemies?"

"We didn’t side with anyone. We only decided to stay out of trouble. Do you have a problem with that?" BrawlerX stepped forward.

"He has quite the balls," SniperbowLegend chuckled, recognizing him as an unknown professional gamer.

"For supporting that bastard, consider yourselves traitors!" ChaosCleric declared and was about to give the order to attack when a certain trio stepped out from the crowd of players.

"An enemy of Broken Heaven is our enemy," said Bunny with a fierce gaze.

ChaosCleric took a step back while gritting his teeth. He clearly recognized these people and knew it was better not to mess with them.

"Bunny is right!" Ragnarok99 cracked his neck and knuckles, a crazed gleam shining in his eyes.

The players seemed to have a flashback of Ragnarok99’s brutality in previous games and flinched back in horror.

’Bunch of useless pricks!’ ChaosCleric grumbled under his breath as he looked at his guildmates, who were hesitant to fight.

Their loss against Broken Heaven had already dealt a big blow to their pride—and now this?

It was just the first day, and the ChaosKnight Guild had already suffered such humiliation.

A part of ChaosCleric wished IceQueen was here—this was where she could have taken charge.

"Regroup and let’s leave!" ChaosCleric commanded and left with his group.

"Hahahaha! Damn, two Ls in a single day. The ChaosKnight Guild is on a losing streak!" laughed a player.

"I bet they’re probably regretting ever thinking of going against Sir Broken."

BrawlerX came over to the trio and bowed respectfully. "Thank you, seniors, for helping us back there."

"As long as you’re not an enemy of Sir Broken, then I’ll always step up!" Ragnarok99 casually slapped BrawlerX’s shoulder.

"Agh, thank you! I’ll keep that in mind," he smiled but inwardly cursed as he had lost a single digit of HP just from that casual slap.

Just then, Bunny started typing mid-air, and BrawlerX received a message.

[Ding! Bunny, Ragnarok99, and SniperbowLegend have sent you an invite to join their party.]

When he saw this, BrawlerX’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. His mouth was wide open in disbelief.

Never in his lifetime did he think an unknown underground player such as himself would be personally invited to a party containing three bigshots from the U.S. gaming scene!

"You’re a very courageous person," praised SniperbowLegend. "Someone like you will be a great addition to the team."

"Thank you! Thank you! This means a lot to me!" BrawlerX said, going down on his knees and banging his head on the ground.

"You don’t have to do that, mate!" Bunny facepalmed.

"Oh, sorry! I got carried away," he chuckled awkwardly.

Bunny waved it off and proceeded to brief him. "Our current goal is to level up to ten, get a class, and leave for the capital to find Sir Broken. This is just a temporary party. After meeting up with him, we’ll decide what to do with ourselves."

BrawlerX’s heart sank a little when he heard it was only temporary. He had thought this would be his big break.

"Don’t look sad. If you perform very well, you can join my future party," Bunny assured.

BrawlerX clenched his fist dramatically and said passionately, "I’ll not let you down. I’ll prove my worth to you."

’Yup, he’s dramatic. Reminds me of those Xianxia novels I read in my free time.’ Bunny thought

And with that, the four proceeded into the wilderness to continue their hunts.

In the real world, inside the developers’ headquarters, a man wearing a single-lens spectacle was watching the stream of Broken Heaven wiping out the members of the ChaosKnight Guild.

"This doesn’t make sense," he frowned. "According to my researchers, treasures are supposed to be rare and expensive. How did he get his hands on so many? From the look of things, he’s not even an influential figure in the Valerian Kingdom."

He adjusted the lens on his face. "It seems I’ll need to travel to that world again... to investigate this anomaly.."
