Chapter 743: Chapter 745: Sounds Familiar
At last, Fei Jiayi and the others agreed with Xu Nianhua’s proposal. This time, Xu Nianhua would take half, but from then on, the earnings would be equally divided among the six of them. With the money in hand, they felt both excited and elated.
This was their first time earning money. They had returned their initial investment the last time, but this was their actual profit.
Ever since the studio started, each of them became busier with their own tasks, but after the hard work, they felt incredibly fulfilled. Even during the final exams, questions that usually seemed difficult now appeared much simpler.
They believed that this time, their exam results would definitely not disappoint.
"Tomorrow, everyone is going home, right? Let’s get together tonight," Xu Nianhua, clutching the one hundred and thirty dollars, said, "Today, it’s on me. Order whatever you want!"
"Since it’s a gathering, how can we let you pay? We should all chip in," Fei Jiayi said, patting her pocket with a grin, "Spending the money we earned ourselves will certainly feel great."
"I’m in too," someone else chimed in.
Liao Jinling and the others voiced their agreement.
The six of them found a restaurant near the school that they frequented. It was a bit more expensive than the small stir-fry places but had an elegant environment. Not only was the portion size generous, but the taste was also better.
Xu Nianhua and her friends would only come to this restaurant when they had something to celebrate.
Today was payday and the start of summer vacation. Tomorrow, they would all go their separate ways. It was both a celebration and the last meal of the semester. The next time they would see each other wouldn’t be until school resumed in September.
The lavish dinner made everyone exceptionally happy, tinged with a touch of the sadness of parting.
"Ding Guo, could you do me a favor and bring this to Little Hong’en at the nursing home?"
Xu Nianhua took out a notebook, which was covered in simple sketches she had drawn in her spare time. The bright colors brought the little drawings of fruit, various vehicles, and trees to life, making it look like a small picture book.
"These drawings are really nice," Ding Guo said, leafing through it. Not just for children, even she couldn’t help being delighted by it. Simple strokes had created such adorable fruits, cars, trees, and the like.
"I figured he’d like it. Could you deliver it for me?" Xu Nianhua asked sincerely. Though she had only seen Little Hong’en briefly last time, she felt an extra sense of compassion for him. Hong’en, who was only seven or eight, was living in a nursing home instead of attending school like other kids his age.
"Sure, Hong’en will definitely love it," Ding Guo replied, joyously securing the notebook to take with her back to the county and deliver to Little Hong’en.
"What are you taking?"
Fei Jiayi had just finished packing her things in the washroom when she saw Ding Guo packing up the items.
Xu Nianhua explained.
Fei Jiayi took a careful look at the notebook, admiring it as she said, "Hong’en will be really happy to see this. But speaking of it, I always feel like I’ve heard that name before, it sounds so familiar!"
Hong’en.
Where had she heard it?
Fei Jiayi tried hard to remember but couldn’t come up with anything.
"You always think everything sounds familiar," Ding Guo said teasingly while snatching away the notebook, "This is for the kids, you’re not thinking of taking it, are you?"
Fei Jiayi’s train of thought was interrupted by Ding Guo’s words, and it seemed like she did find many things familiar. Thus, she didn’t think any further and looked at the notebook saying, "I’m not a three-year-old child, why would I fight over a picture book with the kids?"
