Chapter 615: How to chase a girl with 615
"What are you looking at? Want some? Not giving you any! I only bought three bags, no extras." Jin Yuguang looked at Mu Cheng sizing him up and glared at him irritably as a warning.
"You’re a big guy, still into these snacks?" Mu Cheng, who felt quite fond of Jin Yuguang, who seemed about his age, knew that anyone accompanying the "Master" was either a follower or a disciple, and it was crucial to build good relationships.
"So what if I like them?" Jin Yuguang rolled his eyes. Why couldn’t men enjoy snacks?
"Nothing, nothing. You’re the Master’s disciple, right? Should I call you eldest disciple brother or second disciple brother? Did Brother Han Yan join before you did?" Mu Cheng grinned and edged closer to Jin Yuguang, probing him with his questions.
"What? Which disciple brother?" Jin Yuguang asked, confused.
"Brother Han Yan is your Master’s disciple. I’m going to be a disciple too, so of course, you guys are all my senior disciple brothers. I’m just trying to figure out who joined first so I know how to address you properly," Mu Cheng explained matter-of-factly and then nodded towards Ye Lanfeng and Mu Hanyan walking ahead.
"You said the adult is Mu Hanyan’s..." Jin Yuguang’s mouth twitched, then he shook the bag of buns in his hand, "Of course not..."
Before he could finish, Ye Lanfeng turned his head slightly to look at Jin Yuguang.
That one look made Jin Yuguang feel like winter had arrived.
"Ah, of course, that’s correct. But I’m not a disciple; the adult is just the adult." Jin Yuguang quickly corrected himself, internally lamenting. Before you chase someone, could you at least clue me in, Boss? Jin Yuguang himself hadn’t noticed that he had fully accepted the fact that the adult liked a man and was starting to pursue someone else.
"Oh, is that so." Mu Cheng nodded. Even if not a disciple brother, Jin Yuguang was a follower highly regarded by the Master; hmm, he still needed to build a good relationship.
The group continued their journey home, which passed safely without any incidents.
That night, the group found a dry spot to camp. Wu Qiuyun and Yan Yuchu went off to prepare some game for dinner, while Mu Cheng eagerly collected firewood. Mu Hanyan was in good spirits and ran over to a nearby stream to wash the wild fruits Ye Lanfeng had picked for her during the day, small but sweet.
At this time, Ye Lanfeng sat on a giant stone, looking up at the night sky, letting the moonlight fall evenly on him, surrounded by a hazy glow, making him appear ethereal, like a banished immortal. Jin Yuguang stood behind him, earnestly eating the wild fruits he had picked during the day. He wasn’t so particular; he simply wiped them casually before eating. As he was fully engrossed, Ye Lanfeng slowly turned his head to look at Jin Yuguang.
Jin Yuguang blinked, puzzled as he looked back at his own boss. Was the boss about to give him some task?
"Jinyu, how do you think one should win a girl’s affection?" The question Ye Lanfeng asked made Jin Yuguang spit out the pit he had in his mouth. After spitting it out, he cursed inwardly, realizing he had sprayed in the boss’s direction. But his worry was unnecessary; with a slight movement of his finger, Ye Lanfeng caused the pit, as if it had eyes, to bounce back and hit Jin Yuguang right in the face.
Jin Yuguang stared dumbfounded at the serious look on Ye Lanfeng’s face. He no longer dwelled on why his boss called him Jinyu when in a good mood or the fact that the pit had hit his face painfully and was covered with his saliva. His mind was echoing with the question his boss had just asked.
How does one win a girl’s affection?
