Chapter 1024 The Trump Card of the Blade

Chapter 20 The Intelligence of Monsters

Time shifted back slightly, about twenty minutes earlier, to the highest level of Castlevania.

At that moment, the three players from Saber versus Dracula's three direct subordinates had entered a fever pitch.

Because Qi Sha, Tan Lang, and Long Aomin had not seen the movie *Monster Squad*, they didn't know how those monsters in the movie were killed.

If they had known... perhaps the battle would have ended quickly.

Here, let me first popularize the characteristics and weaknesses of these monsters in the movie...

First, there's the vampire, Dracula. In the original movie, besides being able to fly and transform into a bat, Count Dracula also had the characteristic of being "bulletproof." Specifically... shooting him with bullets wouldn't cause any damage; the bullets would pass through his body as if passing through air, hitting the objects behind him.

In addition, Dracula's combat ability was also very strong. He could calmly move forward when faced with an adult man's tackle, could knock an adult away with one hand, could use his palm to emit strange beams of light for attack, and also used detonators for attacks.

Yes... you read that right, "detonator attacks." Perhaps this Count majored in goblin engineering, but in the movie, he attacked more than once by throwing detonators, and even used this method to send a black police officer (the one investigating the museum theft) to his death. Although we all know that black people generally die in monster movies, "a black man blown up in a car by a detonator thrown by a vampire"... is also a first for me; just describing this makes me feel a strong sense of dissonance.

Next, there's the werewolf. The "human side" of this werewolf in the movie is actually a good person. From the fact that he went to the police station to ask to be arrested, it can be seen that he had no intention of hurting anyone in his human state. But in his werewolf state... he became Dracula's loyal minion, a cold-blooded beast who wouldn't even spare children.

His brutal personality, powerful physique, and astonishing self-healing ability that allowed him to recover even after being blown to pieces, made him the number two main force in the monster team. In the film, this werewolf also died quite unjustly, basically killed by the protagonist team's plot armor... clearly he had a physique that allowed him to recover after being blown to pieces by a bomb, but he was taken away by a silver bullet from Rudy, a guy in the "Monster Squad." It can only be said that this was fate...

Next, let's look at the Gill-man. This brother had very few scenes. From his limited appearances, it can be seen that he had amazing strength and the ability to breathe underwater. Every time he appeared, it was either in a swamp or in a sewer. At the end of the movie... he was shot in the heart by Horace with a shotgun and died. Overall, it felt like... killing him wasn't much harder than killing an ordinary human.

However, in the current script, he demonstrated the ability to spray high-pressure liquid bullets from his mouth, and the alligator armor and mucus all over his body provided excellent close-range defense. Therefore, he can be regarded as the number three person (monster) in the monster group.

Next is the Mummy. Compared to the Gill-man, this guy was even more tragic. Judging from his performance in the movie... his strength was roughly equivalent to a zombie wrapped in bandages. And that's... the least offensive way to put it.

In fact, this guy was even slower than a zombie, didn't show any outstanding performance in terms of strength, and had no superpowers whatsoever. And the most tragic thing... was his death. This Mummy climbed onto the protagonist team's car in the second half of the movie, but someone pulled out one end of the bandages on his body and tied it to an arrow and shot it out... Then, he was "pulled apart" like a sweater being unraveled. In a few seconds, this "Mummy" turned into a long line of bandages, a handful of ashes, and a dried skull.

Of course, in this script, this monster was also given some... attack and defense buffs to compensate for his lack of speed. Although his weakness remained the same, Tan Lang didn't know that he could be taken down by pulling the bandages... so he could be considered a difficult mini-boss.

So finally... let's talk about Frankenstein.

The reason I put him last is not because he's the weakest. On the contrary, in terms of combat power, Frankenstein is second only to Dracula, and even stronger than the werewolf.

It's just that... this scientific monster has a similar problem to the werewolf—he's a good person.

Although his appearance is ugly and strange, his heart is kind and he doesn't like to hurt others. Similar to the setting in the original (referring to the original 1818 novel *Frankenstein*), he is just a tragic character who was forced to come into this world but was rejected and ostracized by this world because of his appearance.

In the movie version, Dracula sent him to kill the Monster Squad's children, but Frankenstein eventually sided with the children, helped them defeat Dracula, and voluntarily entered the Door of Purgatory.

And in this script, Feng Bujue, who had seen the original film, had already greeted Dracula to avoid this situation; this time, the Count didn't assign any tasks to Frankenstein, in order to prevent the risk of him betraying them...

The above is the relevant information about the five main monsters in *Monster Squad*.

When it came to the actual combat stage of the script, the three monsters among them put the members of Saber into a difficult battle...

If it were normal, the members of Saber would have used brute force to kill these three mini-bosses, but at this moment, their bodies had all returned to the level of ten-year-olds... Except for Long Ge, Qi Sha and Tan Lang's combat power had both clearly decreased. Without knowing the strategy, these monsters were really hard to deal with.

"Tsk... not only does it have armor, but it's also slippery, I can't connect any combos at all..." Qi Sha circled the Gill-man for a long time. His Survival Value wasn't damaged, and he had the advantage in the situation, but he just couldn't defeat the opponent; watching his Stamina Value gradually decrease, he also gradually became anxious.

"My side isn't easy either..." Tan Lang responded from afar, "This 'zongzi's' defense is surprisingly high. I feel like I've been hitting it for a long time and haven't broken its defense yet..."

At this time, he was also in a posture of suppressing the monster and beating it, but the problem was that the attacks had little effect...

"You two should be content..." Long Ge on the other side quickly added, "You're just hitting it and not breaking its defense... This one on my side is in an infinite resurrection loop."

When he said this, Long Ge had knocked the werewolf to the ground several times, and even smashed it into meat patties... but the werewolf was able to recover every time.

This kind of enemy with amazing self-healing ability... was Long Aomin's nemesis. Players like Long Ge who specialized in defense lacked explosive output skills... Without knowing the "silver bullet" setting, if he wanted to eliminate this werewolf with brute force, he had to have a skill that could instantly blast the target into渣 [zhā - dregs, residue], but Long Ge didn't have that kind of move...

"Now that things have come to this... I have a suggestion..." After a few seconds, Tan Lang said.

"Alright, you don't need to say it." Qi Sha answered, "I was just about to suggest the same thing."

"Hmm..." Long Ge also said, "I also think it's the right time to use 'that'."

"Then let's do it..." Tan Lang's expression became solemn as he said in a deep voice, "... Combination skill!"
