Chapter 337: You have more than one?
Phoenix’s fingers tightened around the vial, her knuckles paling. She glanced down at the liquid, then back at Damon, as if searching his face for some hint of mockery. But there was none. Only that sly, dangerous grin that promised he was dead serious.
Blood Wraith, meanwhile, nearly bounced on his heels. "Boss, are you kidding me?! Interested? Hell yes, I’m interested! This stuff nearly drove the auction into madness, and you’re just.. just handing it out?" He laughed, the sound high and unhinged. "Boss Blood God, you’re too generous!"
Damon laughed. "Well, I am not exactly handing it out per se. The first one comes free, considering our past relationship and your timely help. But I am low on cash at the moment, so you do have to buy the rest from me."
Blood Wraith gasped. Phoenix froze in shock. "You... you have more than one?" They both blurted out in unison.
Damon grinned again. "Let’s just say I have as many as you could ever want."
Blood Wraith’s jaw dropped so far it nearly hit the polished stone floor. Then, with a sudden burst of manic energy, he threw his hands into the air. "Boss Blood God, you absolute madman! You are freaking awesome as always! I love it, bro!"
While her brother ranted like an idiot, Phoenix’s grip on the vial tightened even further, her usual calm cracking as her pupils dilated. "That’s... impossible," she whispered, almost to herself.
The auction house had treated a single drop of this poison like a priceless treasure, something so rare entire guilds had nearly torn each other apart over it. Yet Damon was sitting on his throne, smirking like a devil with an endless supply?
And what happened at the auction house was just the trailer.
She had already heard several rumors in her circle about how potent and efficient the poison was. The big shots had already sent many of their men to specifically search for this mythical item, as it was absolutely game-breaking!
She did not know what exactly they had killed with it, but she knew that they were all hunting for the rare elixir, and the alchemist who had made it like there was no tomorrow. She knew all of them were extremely frustrated about this since they were unable to find even a single clue.
She never thought in a million years that it would be Damon behind everything!
Phoenix’s lips parted, but no words came out. Her heart thudded against her ribs as the weight of realization sank in. "Can you create this elixir?" She slowly asked.
"Yes. You could say that." Damon smiled.
Phoenix again became silent. She kept staring at Damon, even making Erin feel uncomfortable. She then unexpectedly asked something that Damon did not expect. "Can you tell me what you need the money for?"
Damon would be lying if he said he wasn’t surprised. But he did not show it on his face. He continued looking at the beautiful woman, who in no way looked any less stunning than Erin. He had the same polite smile on his face when he answered casually.
"For managing the Blood Hall. There is another war coming up."
He didn’t lie. He did not feel the need to. Besides, it was not really a secret. Many players should already be aware of this from either the quest board at the Blood Hall, the holy church, or the divine temple.
The woman in front of him was clearly very shrewd, and there was no point in hiding such a trivial thing from her.
"How much money do you need?" She asked again.
Damon smiled. This time, he did not give exact numbers. He only answered vaguely. "A lot."
Phoenix’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly. She was sharp enough to know when someone was being evasive. She did not press the matter further. She exchanged a glance with Blood Wraith and then continued. "I have some information which could be helpful to you. It could potentially give you a lot of gold coins. I am talking in millions."
She barely finished talking when Blood Wraith hurriedly added. "Boss, we also have a few million gold coins with us. I can give you everything we have."
Phoenix gave him a stare, and he quickly quieted down. She then spoke on his behalf. "Naturally, we are willing to offer everything we have if you need the money. We have about 50 million gold coins. If that is enough, then we can simply make an arrangement right here and now. But I suspect you need a lot more gold coins than that?"
Damon nodded. "I do, but I wouldn’t say no to the 50 million if you give it to me right here and now."
Phoenix’s face twitched, but she knew better than to miss an opportunity to help the guy who might very well one day rule this whole world.
"Then consider it done," she said evenly. "Fifty million, transferred immediately."
Damon’s grin widened as he watched her. Shrewd, ruthless, and willing to gamble big. He liked that. The notification promptly arrived, and he was now 50 million richer just like that.
To complete the transaction, he too took out about 25 vials and handed them over. This was a lot more than he had auctioned the previous day, but he did not care. While these two might not be his close friends just yet, they were potential allies who had proved their worth at a crucial moment when he needed them. He did not plan on being stingy with them.
Neither Phoenix nor Blood Wraith even pretended to reject his offer and quickly accepted it. "Thank you, bro. This is truly a ...blessing," Blood Wraith gushed. His grin stretched so wide it looked like it might split his face in two.
"Boss Blood God, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to us! With this, our future will become so much easier. We can level up like crazy and power level all the way to the top!"
Phoenix didn’t gush. She tried to remain calm, but her body was trembling from head to toe, clearly revealing her feelings.
