Chapter 284: You know how

Chapter 284: You know how

In a single slash, Damon completely split in half the hideous-looking monstrosity using just his right palm with a layer of blood energy coated on it. His blood energy had a slight greenish tinge now, and as soon as it touched the creature’s body, it started melting his strong carapace.

"How could you possibly have this ability?" The human face shrieked as the last bits of the monster’s health vanished completely.

"You know how." Damon simply laughed. He did not let go of the precious blood essence of such a unique creature and absorbed every last bit of it.

Damon sucked in a big breath as he stared at the many notifications flashing in front of him. Ouroboros was not a typical boss or an NPC, and it showed in the results. He had gained so much from killing the damned bastard who had tried to trick him and take over his body.

This time, the skill he had gained, Venom Generation, was not really that rare or powerful, but it did come at a good time when his blood and body were filled to the brim with poisonous shit. The skill had insane synergy with him right now, and Damon could immediately think of many useful outcomes from just this single skill.

But all of that can wait. He stared at the steps of the shrine where a few more things had clattered out of the monstrous body when Ouroboros dropped dead. He started picking them all up. The first was surprisingly two worn out looking books.

[Ding! You have acquired: Journal of Ouroboros – Volume II]

[Ding! You have acquired: Journal of Ouroboros – Volume II]

Damon chuckled as he couldn’t believe this. Even though the quest had long since disappeared and the whole thing was a scam, the poison master had still ended up dropping the original quest items.

It looked like he needed to have these in order to issue the quest in the first place.

If that was the case, then perhaps there was also...

Damon hurriedly searched the numerous things that had dropped from the guy. There were some poison sacs, some weird-looking scales possibly from snakes, some herbs, some potion bottles, some gold coins, and finally, a very ordinary-looking rock.

"Could this be?" Damon picked it up, his fingers tightening around the stone in anticipation.

However, nothing really happened. Not even a system notification. Damon frowned. Well, whatever. He had already gained a lot from this trip, so he didn’t care too much.

He was a little disappointed because he really expected the last reward to also magically turn up, the philosopher’s stone variant. After all, the quest was issued, and the other items turned up. Shouldn’t this one also turn up?

Damon thought about it for a moment and then looked around. He did not have the heart to leave here just like that without properly searching for it. If the dungeon was reset or some sort of shit, then he might permanently lose the precious item.

Damon immediately summoned Elina again and then his shadow clone. Putting both his underlings to work, he too started combing the place from top to bottom.

After a while, Damon paused and looked at the poisonous lake. The damn thing was a major hindrance. If he could somehow get rid of it, then he might be able to search for stuff better. He stared at it for a moment, and he decided to try something.

Back in the trial ground, he was able to absorb the poison in that orb, so he should be able to absorb this liquid also? At least some of it?

Damon crouched at the edge of the poisonous lake, the greenish-black liquid bubbling like a noxious brew from hell. The fumes alone were enough to make Elina hiss in anger.

But Damon didn’t move. His eyes narrowed. He stretched out his right hand and lightly touched the churning lake. The surface of the lake immediately started roiling like a stormy sea. The next moment, it began to respond as the liquid rose up to engulf his hand completely.

...

...

...

Damon let out a whistle as one after another notification started rolling in without pause, like a never-ending waterfall of poisonous blessings.

His arm glowed faintly green, the venom syncing with his bloodstream. Thick streams of green poison continued to leap from the lake toward him. They spiraled into his outstretched palm, coiling into his bloodstream, burrowing through his muscles and nerves like curious serpents.

Time ticked by slowly as he continued to absorb the liquid little by little. After a few minutes, Damon shook his head. This was not going to work out. He needed to speed the shit up.

He started removing the clothes and items on his body and quickly became naked. Without any hesitation, he then directly jumped into the roiling, poisonous lake.
