Chapter 409 Super Offensive Trainer Shen Buyan, Reporting (Part 4)

The match had lost any real meaning. Shen Yu had already defeated two of Che Dong's Pokémon, leaving Che Dong with only one path to victory: winning the remaining three matches. However, Che Dong had already sent out his starter Pokémon in the first two battles, making a comeback theoretically impossible.

Che Dong seemed to realize this as well. He clutched his third Poké Ball, his last resort, not expecting to win all three, but at least hoping to secure one victory.

"Go!"

With only one Pokémon left, Che Dong no longer cared about attacking first or second; the type matchups were out of his control anyway. Shen Yu also seemed unconcerned with type advantages, directly pulling out a Poké Ball to begin the battle.

Che Dong's Pokémon: Gastly. Shen Yu's Pokémon: Lopunny.

The two Pokémon took their stances. The audience frowned, wondering how long this match would last. Gastly was a Ghost-type, and Lopunny was a Normal-type. Their incompatible typings guaranteed this battle would not end quickly.

Tong Ruo, standing by the sidelines, watched Shen Yu with interest. "As expected, Xiao Yu has a special talent for nurturing Pokémon that require a strong bond between trainer and creature. She's developed both the Sylvally and this Lopunny so quickly."

However, the two combatants on the field saw things differently. Che Dong's face was grim. How could he possibly win? His Gastly had no moves other than Ghost-type attacks, meaning it couldn't touch Lopunny at all. Shen Yu, on the other hand, wasn't overly worried. With Xia Hunaohao as a backup, Xia Hunaohao had devised numerous complex strategies for her, amounting to several gigabytes when organized.

"This is the last match. Let's finish this quickly," Shen Yu declared.

Hearing her words, everyone present was taken aback. "Finish this quickly?" here, on this field?

Shen Yu rolled up her sleeves. "Come on, Lopunny,..."

The two trainers seemed intent on testing whether Shen Yu was truly an "ultra-offensive" trainer. Meanwhile, Shen Yu had already instructed Lopunny to finish the battle. This was unavoidable. For one, Lopunny's Mega Evolution time was limited, and if they didn't end it soon, it would revert to its normal form, leading to a tedious back-and-forth battle. Secondly, Gastly's HP was too low to withstand much. With a base HP stat of 30, even with a perfect Individual Value of 31 and 252 Effort Values, its current HP wouldn't even reach fifty.

Lopunny hopped lightly on the spot twice, then delivered a swift kick to Gastly. Gastly fell to the ground, unable to battle after taking the hit.

Feng Bing, acting as the referee, raised his flag. "The battle is over! The final score is three to zero. Shen Yu wins!"

After Feng Bing announced the decisive result, a flash of light enveloped Lopunny. Mega Lopunny reverted to its normal form and, with a few hops, returned to Shen Yu's side. Shen Yu gently squeezed Lopunny's ears before returning it to its Poké Ball.

Shen Yu, having achieved a complete victory, looked at the dejected Che Dong. "I won."

Shen Yu was about to say more, but Che Dong gave her no chance. He snatched up his Poké Ball and fled, shouting back at Shen Yu as he ran, "Just you wait! My brother won't let this go..."

Shen Yu wasn't interested in who Che Dong's brother was, nor were Wei Chiting and the others. After a moment of thought, Lu Bingming stepped out from the crowd. "Although the match is over, Xiao Yu, do you have any interest in battling me? You should still have two Pokémon left that you haven't used."

Seeing Lu Bingming's eagerness, Shen Yu looked to Teacher Tong Ruo. Tong Ruo nodded. "If you want to, go ahead and spar. However, if you do battle, I'll be the referee."
