Chapter 43 Doctor Ha De

Bai Ye immediately turned and fled.

Even though Bai Ye's body had been enhanced by the T-virus, it was no match for a behemoth of this size. The difference was merely the difference between being crushed into meat paste with one impact and still having a human form after being hit.

However, with his enhanced physique, Bai Ye's speed was comparable. And while a direct physical confrontation would undoubtedly see Bai Ye defeated, it didn't mean Qiao Ye lacked the means to kill the Ceratosaurus.

Running forward rapidly, Bai Ye slapped his hands on the surrounding trees, leaving marks as he went, and then…

Rumble, rumble, rumble!

The moment the Ceratosaurus charged forward…

Invisible explosives!

Explosions sounded in succession, throwing the Ceratosaurus's massive body to the ground, its skin sustaining blast injuries.

However, it was only for a fleeting moment.

After tumbling on the ground a couple of times, the Ceratosaurus quickly resumed its pursuit of Bai Ye, clearly far more resilient than the Velociraptor before.

But as the Ceratosaurus continued its chase, frost mist began to drift across the ground ahead.

Condensed Frost Sword, Sword Illusion Frost!

Crackle, crackle!

As the Ceratosaurus stepped into the frost mist, a layer of frost immediately appeared on its body, slowing its speed.

In that instant, Bai Ye slid, forcibly stopping himself, a Taoist talisman clutched in his hand.

"Lightning Curse!"

As the talisman burned, a thunderous bolt suddenly descended from the sky, striking the Ceratosaurus fiercely.

A tragic roar echoed as the Ceratosaurus writhed in the lightning.

"One isn't enough?" Bai Ye grinned. "Then another!"

Bai Ye swiftly retrieved a second talisman, held it between his fingers, and shook it. Then, as the second talisman burned, the Lightning Curse was unleashed once more.

Rumble!

Lightning flashed in the sky again, and a second bolt of thunder struck the Ceratosaurus.

This time, the Ceratosaurus could no longer endure. Its massive body swayed, then crashed heavily to the ground, black smoke billowing from its form. After convulsing on the ground for a while, it lay still.

Bai Ye let out a sigh of relief, casually waved his hand, causing the Condensed Frost Sword, which had transformed into frost, to fly back, and then surveyed his surroundings.

In the chase with the Ceratosaurus, Bai Ye had inadvertently found himself near a cluster of buildings.

This brought a flicker of joy to Bai Ye. Could there be people here?

The chances weren't high. This godforsaken place was overrun with dinosaurs; it was more likely that all the living humans had been eaten. However, the presence of buildings meant Bai Ye might find food and fresh water.

But the moment Bai Ye stepped through the shattered glass and into the building…

"Human, human, it's really a human!"

Before Bai Ye could even discern what was inside the building, a voice suddenly rang out. Following the sound, Bai Ye saw a disheveled man running madly towards him.

"Don't come closer!"

Bai Ye immediately produced a playing card, held it between his fingers, and watched the man warily. It wasn't just because the man's appearance was tattered and even grotesque, like a demon.

It was because the man was holding a double-barreled shotgun, had a bandolier of bullets around his waist, and even two grenades holstered at his side.

"No, no, no, I mean no harm," the man immediately raised his gun and said hastily, "I am Dr. Harding. You're here to rescue me, right? You must have been sent to save me!"

Bai Ye pointed at the shotgun in the man's hand, then at a nearby table, saying, "If you wish to communicate, turn your gun sideways and place it on the table. Your hands must remain within my line of sight, understand?"

"Okay, okay, no problem!"

Dr. Harding agreed readily, slowly turning to lay down his gun. But then, as if remembering something, he raised it again.

"Hmm?"

Bai Ye's wariness immediately spiked.

Dr. Harding said, "I can lay down my weapon, but we can't talk here. It's too dangerous. We need to go somewhere safer."

Bai Ye thought for a moment and then nodded. "Alright!"

Bai Ye gestured again, and then Dr. Harding placed his gun on a metal table to the side.

Bai Ye casually took the shotgun and slung it over his shoulder, then reached out and removed the grenades from Dr. Harding's waist.

"Follow me."

Dr. Harding called out and quickly led Bai Ye to the side.

Only then did Bai Ye have the chance to observe his surroundings. It appeared to be a cafeteria. Passing through a corridor led to an office area, with many laboratories, resembling some kind of research center.

After traversing the office area, Dr. Harding led Bai Ye to an electronic door. After entering a password, a passage leading underground opened up.

There was space underground as well, seemingly a research area, but it now served as a living space.

Bai Ye saw cans scattered everywhere, along with other discarded living waste in a corner, emitting a pungent odor. A metal laboratory table was directly repurposed as a bed, with a sleeping bag laid upon it.

Dr. Harding said, "Alright, we can talk now. Who hired you? An investment company? Or the military? You're here to help me, right?"

Bai Ye shrugged. "Sorry, I'm just passing through."

Dr. Harding blinked, then became agitated. "No, impossible! Aren't you here to save me?"

"That's something we can discuss," Bai Ye said, pointing at a nearby monitor. "You must have seen my fight through this, so I believe you have some understanding of my abilities. That's why you rushed out to find me, isn't it?"

There was a row of monitors on the side of the room, including footage of the area outside the building complex. Therefore, the opponent must have witnessed Bai Ye's battle with the Ceratosaurus.

Bai Ye continued, "However, I want to know what happened here first."

Dr. Harding hesitated for a moment, then said, "I wanted to build an extraordinary park."

Bai Ye chuckled. "Jurassic Park?"

"Yes, dinosaurs are the main attraction of this park," Dr. Harding explained. "I gathered many renowned scientists and used the blood from ancient mosquitoes trapped in amber to extract dinosaur genetic information. We used this information to breed and reproduce dinosaurs, and I succeeded as I had hoped. You must have seen those creatures on your way here."

"Mmm-hmm," Bai Ye nodded. "But this scene doesn't seem to align with the word 'park'."

"Yes!" Dr. Harding's expression was one of profound grief as he clutched his forehead. "As you can see, Jurassic Park had an accident, and a major one at that."
