Upon reaching the foot of Kunlun Mountain, Li Mingyi prepared to act. "You locate their positions, and stay clear later. I'll make the move."
"Wait." Wang Fan quickly interjected, "I just suddenly remembered, there was a sentence in Yun Shao's message that I seem to have overlooked."
As he spoke, Wang Fan hurriedly took out his phone and showed Li Mingyi the message from Yun Shao.
Li Mingyi looked at the sentence Wang Fan showed him and read aloud, "Find a way to abduct that woman that will cause Xiao Yang extreme emotional turmoil."
"Abducting someone still needs to make Xiao Yang extremely emotional? What's the point of that?"
Li Mingyi expressed his confusion.
Wang Fan shrugged innocently, "How should I know? Since Yun Shao said so, we naturally have to follow his orders."
"There's no choice, is there? We're just hired hands!" Wang Fan winked at him.
"I, however, have a career," Li Mingyi stated with a hint of melancholy.
Wang Fan was momentarily speechless.
"Speaking of which, how can we make Xiao Yang extremely emotional?"
Li Mingyi scratched his head. This was making things difficult. Truly, one person's words meant endless toil for others.
"I don't know," Wang Fan said, scratching his head in frustration. This was not something he could figure out.
Li Mingyi suddenly thought of someone. "Why not ask Yu Man Lou? That guy has quite a few tricks up his sleeve and is quite cunning."
"Yu Man Lou, alright. I'll give him a call," Wang Fan agreed and dialed Yu Man Lou's number. After it connected, he explained the situation.
Yu Man Lou, who was taking a break to answer the call, replied without hesitation.
After the call ended, before Wang Fan could speak, Li Mingyi eagerly asked, "How did it go?"
Wang Fan chuckled, "Yu Man Lou said that it's easiest for feelings to develop between a man and a woman when they are alone."
"So, you get it now, right?"
Li Mingyi's eyes lit up with understanding. "I get it. As expected of that old schemer."
"Indeed," Wang Fan heartily agreed.
Although Yu Man Lou had only offered a single idea, it was enough. For two intelligent individuals, one idea was sufficient to broaden their horizons.
Kunlun Mountain's scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, a testament to its pristine natural state. The air here felt as though it had been purified to another level.
This place was usually deserted because its well-preserved ecosystem harbored numerous ferocious beasts and venomous insects. Entering the Kunlun Mountain range unprepared would likely mean certain death.
As the two ventured deeper, they encountered several attacks from wild beasts and harassment from poisonous insects.
Xiao Yang, however, seemed to be in his element here, as if this place had become his domain. All the creatures here would become his allies.
"As far as I know, Xiao Yang has the ability to communicate with animals," Wang Fan suddenly said, causing both of them to stop.
Li Mingyi and Wang Fan exchanged glances, a sudden feeling dawning upon them that they were being watched by Xiao Yang's many eyes.
"I'll take you."
Li Mingyi transformed into a pool of water and enveloped Wang Fan, disappearing from their current location.
"Holy cow, Earth Elementalist?" Wang Fan exclaimed in surprise, looking at the surrounding soil as Li Mingyi carried him underground.
"Stop fooling around. Why didn't you mention this earlier?" Li Mingyi retorted, exasperated. If he had known earlier, they could have used this ability to travel much sooner.
Wang Fan chuckled and explained, "I just didn't think of it at the time. We're not professionals, are we? We'll get used to it."
Meanwhile, Xiao Yang, thriving in this environment, had led Yu Ruo Ying to the eastern mountain range of Kunlun. The continuous peaks, veiled by clouds and mist, lent the area an air of mystery. It was like a labyrinth of peaks and valleys, drawing one in irrevocably.
"Let's settle here. I don't think anyone will find us, and I've already set up precautions. If there's any trouble, they'll let me know."
Xiao Yang sat on a large rock, gazing at Yu Ruo Ying, who was meditating below, a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
"Chirp chirp chirp!!!"
A small squirrel scurried rapidly from a distance and landed on his shoulder, chattering away.
Xiao Yang stood up and looked towards the outer reaches of the mountain range. He hadn't expected anyone to track them this far. However, the fact that the two individuals had vanished without a trace made him uneasy. If he lost track of them, would they find his location? Would there be danger? Xiao Yang pondered anxiously.
Yet, upon seeing Yu Ruo Ying meditating, he felt that his sacrifices were worth it.
Guided by Wang Fan's divination, Li Mingyi arrived at a deep, secluded cave. No animals dwelled within this cave; it was eerily silent and terrifying, growing darker and deeper.
"If I were here alone, I wouldn't linger in such a ghastly place," Wang Fan thought. After performing a divination and confirming there was no danger, he cautiously peeked into the depths.
"To be able to divine to this extent, you're truly one of a kind," Li Mingyi commented. Seeing Wang Fan constantly performing divinations out of caution, he, despite his verbal disdain, deeply admired the man's prudence.
"How about you distract Xiao Yang while I deal with the woman?" Li Mingyi suggested after some thought.
"Are you speaking as a human? Of course, we go together! Do you think I'd be comfortable leaving you alone to deal with that woman?" Wang Fan immediately objected, adopting a stance of shared destiny. After all, Xiao Yang was incredibly powerful. Wang Fan had learned from Si Jin Yan that if not for timely intervention, Si Jin Yan would have been goners.
"However, I do have a suggestion: how about poisoning them?" Wang Fan suddenly had an idea. "They'll have to eat something in this desolate place, and based on our information, they don't have much food. It will last them at most three days. Moreover, there's a clear stream not far away, with fish. We can use your ability then... like this... and then this... and like this."
"As for the timing, you'll listen to me. I'll divine the exact moment."
Li Mingyi's eyes lit up as he listened. He hadn't expected Wang Fan to be so quick-witted.
"Your divination skills are truly god-like," Li Mingyi exclaimed.
Wang Fan proudly replied, "This is my bread and butter. If it weren't extraordinary, how could I survive under Yun Shao?"
Thus, Li Mingyi left and immediately called Yu Man Lou, who promptly arranged for him to obtain a potent sleeping drug. This drug was strong enough to incapacitate ten oxen, and with a larger dose, Xiao Yang would surely succumb.
Indeed, three days later, Xiao Yang's food supplies were depleted. While Yu Ruo Ying could go without food, Xiao Yang could not. Xiao Yang, following the route Wang Fan had divined, found the stream, which flowed downwards and teemed with fish.
"There are fish! It looks like we can have a feast," Xiao Yang said. He was tired of eating self-heating hot pot for days, and he could even show off his grilled fish skills to Yu Ruo Ying. Xiao Yang found these fish surprisingly easy to catch, as if they were leaping into his hands.
