Chapter 1038: Chapter 316: The True Strength of the Ancestral Dragon
Sun Wukong and the Ancestral Dragon exchanged glances, both somewhat at a loss for words.
Those words were a bit too pretentious.
They really had no idea what being the Heavenly Emperor meant; wasn’t it a bit too ridiculous?
“Emperor Jun, if you want to avenge Baize, then make your move. I, Old Sun, together with the Ancestral Dragon, if you can still kill me, Old Sun, then I suppose it was meant to be.”
He didn’t believe the Heavenly Emperor was that strong. Could he really suppress the combined might of him and the Ancestral Dragon?
The Ancestral Dragon’s expression was somewhat grave. He transmitted a message: “Great Saint, do not underestimate the opponent; the Heavenly Emperor is incredibly formidable. Even the two of us combined might not be able to withstand him.”
“Have you underestimated my strength?”
Sun Wukong felt a stirring in his heart.
The Ancestral Dragon transmitted: “Once, a Taoist friend and I besieged Haotian God, fought for ten thousand miles, and only barely managed to suppress him. That Taoist friend’s strength was not inferior to mine.”
Sun Wukong gasped sharply.
It was only now that he realized how strong the so-called Heavenly Emperor actually was.
A glint flashed in his eyes; the slight underestimation he initially held completely vanished.
He put on a serious expression, his gaze fixed on Emperor Jun, ready for any move.
Emperor Jun’s expression was cold as he spoke indifferently: “Losing Baize is like losing an arm; this grudge runs as deep as the sea. Yet, I know you are sworn brothers with Lord Taishang. Today, I won’t kill you, but I will dissipate your entire cultivation as a lesson.”
Sun Wukong’s face darkened.
Having his cultivation dispersed would be far worse than being killed.
Such words clearly showed that the opponent held him in no regard at all.
With a cold sneer, Sun Wukong spokelightly: “Emperor Jun, do you really think you have Old Sun in the bag?”
Emperor Jun chuckled lightly and sighed, “When there are no tigers in the mountain, the monkeys become kings.”
Sun Wukong showed his teeth, pulled the Jingu Bang from his ear, and pointed it at Emperor Jun, his intentions clear.
Emperor Jun’s eyes looked over, and in that instant, it seemed as if Heaven and Earth were pressing down, the awe of the heavens overwhelming, terrifying to the extreme.
Even someone as strong as Sun Wukong shuddered, almost forced back half a step.
He was shocked in his heart; was this the true power of the Heavenly Emperor?
It was somewhat different from what he had imagined. The Jade Emperor was merely a fragment of Haotian God; although his strength was formidable, it was not as powerful as the true body of the Heavenly Emperor.
Originally, Sun Wukong thought that even if Emperor Jun was stronger than the Jade Emperor, it wouldn’t be by much.
But now, it seemed that he had thought too much of himself.
Emperor Jun’s strength was likely unimaginable.
Much stronger than the Jade Emperor back then.
With his current strength, he felt overwhelmed even against Emperor Jun.
Exactly how powerful were these ancient Heavenly Emperors?
Sun Wukong became more serious, his rebellious eyes gleaming with golden light, fixed on Emperor Jun, always ready to make a move.
Emperor Jun smiled faintly, noticing Sun Wukong’s changes.
This to him, was nothing unusual.
Just one mere later generation being, how could he resist in the face of his Heavenly Emperor’s majesty?
Only the Ancestral Dragon’s strength earned a slight nod from him.
The opponent was strong, not inferior to Xihe and Changxi.
But, that’s all.
To drive him away, at least two beings of Ancestral Dragon’s level would be needed to barely achieve it.
One Ancestral Dragon combined with Sun Wukong clearly did not have such power.
Emperor Jun made his move, lifting a palm as a blade, slicing directly down.
The Heaven and Earth were split in two; a simple strike, yet it resulted in such a terrifying spectacle.
This strike targeted the Ancestral Dragon; Emperor Jun intended to force him back before dealing with Sun Wukong.
The Ancestral Dragon snorted coldly, his mana boiling, he went all out, directly pulling out several Great Daos, transforming them into immortal techniques to strike back.
Boom.
Immense mana erupted, and the Ancestral Dragon retreated.
His face flushed, his blood surging.
The previous strike had almost injured him.
Emperor Jun’s power was paradoxically unbelievable, even forcing him to show a solemn expression.
This was the true power of the Heavenly Emperor, frightening to say the least.
Even someone as strong as the Ancestral Dragon, one of the top ten of The Primordial, found it challenging against the Heavenly Emperor, being suppressed by him.
But, the Ancestral Dragon was not afraid in the slightest, ready to engage again.
At this moment, the Ancestral Dragon was filled with fighting spirit, his face full of untamed arrogance.
Though pressed by Emperor Jun, it instead fueled his combat spirit and ferocity.
The vicious nature inherent to The Primordial was aroused, turning the Ancestral Dragon back into the unrivaled Supreme who battled the heavens and earth, running rampant through The Primordial, with few rivals across the Three Realms.
Seeing the Ancestral Dragon charge again, Emperor Jun frowned, a bit displeased.
He had struck earlier precisely to prevent the Ancestral Dragon from entangling.
Yet the Ancestral Dragon failed to appreciate the gesture, Emperor Jun’s face showing anger.
His eyes flashed with cold light, proceeding to attack relentlessly.
Boom.
The terrifying mana descended, clashing once more with the two.
Unexpectedly, the Ancestral Dragon managed to withstand it again, his expression serious as he unleashed formidable assaults, delivering strike after strike.
The fierce battle raged, powerful mana surging, leaving Sun Wukong unable to find a chance to intervene.
Sun Wukong was dumbstruck; he wanted to rush over and assist the Ancestral Dragon.
However, the two gave him no opening.
They fought fiercely, creating a battlefield area, and with Sun Wukong’s strength, he surprisingly couldn’t break in.
This left Sun Wukong dumbfounded. How could this have happened?
Emperor Jun was clearly here to kill him; how had he ended up facing the Ancestral Dragon? Was there something wrong with this guy’s head?
“Emperor Jun, your opponent is me.”
Sun Wukong shouted.
But now, stuck in a fierce battle with true fire, Emperor Jun and the Ancestral Dragon seemed not to notice at all.
