Chapter 1064: Chapter 323: Refusing to be a Subordinate
Fight to the death, not an inch of land shall be yielded.
Amitabha Buddha returned to the Buddha Land and relayed the decision of the Great Emperor Ziwei.
Zhunti’s expression was displeased, and he said blandly: "I am not his subordinate, on what grounds does he order me?"
Amitabha Buddha glanced at him, his eyes somewhat indifferent.
"You don’t have to listen."
Zhunti slightly frowned, staring at Amitabha Buddha, and said coldly: "What does the Buddha mean by this?"
A surge of supreme aura emanated, and Zhunti was obviously somewhat angry.
Amitabha Buddha’s expression did not change at all.
He fixed his gaze on Zhunti and sneered: "Zhunti, I always thought you were honest and low-key. I didn’t expect you to be someone who wants the protection of the Heavenly Court while doing nothing for it. How can you expect to have all the good things in the world? People say our Western Buddhist Realm folks are shameless, and it seems they were right indeed."
Amitabha Buddha was indeed a ruthless character; when angered, he even berated himself.
Zhunti’s face turned black.
Amitabha Buddha was plainly accusing him of being shameless.
A fire of anger flashed in Zhunti’s eyes as he stared at Amitabha Buddha, and said coldly: "What do you mean by this? Is it the Great Emperor Ziwei who instructed you to subdue me? I never thought the Great Emperor Ziwei would stoop so low as to take advantage of the situation."
Amitabha Buddha almost thought he heard wrong.
This was clearly his own words; what did it have to do with the Great Emperor Ziwei?
Seeing Zhunti’s cold sneer, as if he saw through everything.
Amitabha Buddha’s mouth twitched, and he couldn’t help but shake his head.
How could he ever consider this fool to be profound before?
It seems reaching the Supreme Realm really has nothing to do with being brainless.
Not even Tathagata Buddha could hold back, so he interjected: "Zhunti, I think you misunderstood. To protect the foundation of our Buddhist Realm naturally requires efforts from multiple sides. What the Great Emperor Ziwei did isn’t wrong; we should indeed join forces with the Great Emperor Ziwei to protect our Buddhist Realm, rather than doing nothing."
"Is your homeland something you expect others to protect entirely, while you do nothing?"
Amitabha Buddha said with a cold smile.
Zhunti furrowed his brows and said in a deep voice, "I’m not saying I’ll do nothing, just worried that the Great Emperor Ziwei wants to take the opportunity to make this old monk his subordinate."
Hearing Zhunti’s words, Amitabha Buddha’s face was full of cold smiles.
He said disdainfully, "Zhunti, everyone knows you’re powerful, a Supreme, but a Supreme is not so rare for the current Heavenly Court. If the Great Emperor Ziwei wanted to subdue you, he would just act directly; why bother with such tactics?"
Not waiting for Zhunti to retort, Amitabha Buddha continued, "Not to mention, just with the Great Sage Equalling Heaven and Yang Jian joining forces, would you submit or not?"
Zhunti opened his mouth, wanting to say he wouldn’t submit.
But, thinking of the strength of the two, he still closed his mouth.
What if he doesn’t submit?
The two of them joining forces would take him down easily.
Amitabha Buddha folded his hands together, his eyes filled with reverence.
"What a presence the Great Emperor Ziwei is. Have you ever seen him force someone to submit? As long as you don’t cause trouble or harm living beings, he doesn’t care whether you pledge to the Heavenly Court or not. Such a Heavenly Emperor, with such magnanimity and boldness, throughout history, is unique to the Great Emperor Ziwei."
Zhunti couldn’t find words to refute.
Indeed, after what Amitabha Buddha said, even he felt like he was being petty.
He took a deep breath and said: "Amitabha Buddha, this old monk knows, it’s my petty nature this time."
Amitabha Buddha, however, was a bit impatient, saying blandly: "Alright, as long as you know it’s petty of you, just follow the Great Emperor Ziwei’s instructions from now on."
Zhunti felt uncomfortable, his nature was proud and indifferent to others, which was why he didn’t participate in many Buddhist Realm competitions.
But today, others called him petty.
Of course, Zhunti was displeased, somewhat indignant.
However, Amitabha Buddha’s words left him speechless, difficult to refute.
He introspected, wondering if he had said too much today, leading to giving away flaws.
With thoughts churning in his heart, Zhunti’s eyes flickered.
Seems silence is golden, the ancients didn’t deceive me.
Zhunti once again became silent, no longer speaking much.
Indeed, too much talk leads to mistakes.
The Buddhist Realm quickly took action; having operated in the Western Continent for many years, they could retreat with large numbers of living beings before Emperor Jun detected them.
Meanwhile, Emperor Jun and others invited the Supreme Alliance’s supremes to come.
They valued the Supreme Alliance because it contained numerous supremes.
If they could subdue these people, it would greatly enhance their strength.
A single Supreme is a rare expert.
It’s no wonder Zhunti was confident, believing the Great Emperor Ziwei wanted to seize the opportunity to subdue him.
In any era, supremes are the topmost powerhouses between heaven and earth.
More than a dozen supremes came to the feast, and Ancestor of Bones among them also knew Emperor Jun and others’ intentions.
However, they still came.
They also needed allies and powerful backing.
The situation in the Three Realms is becoming more chaotic.
And another person came, one not part of the Supreme Alliance, yet appeared.
Wood God, when he was seen, those supremes instinctively distanced themselves.
Everyone knew Wood God’s plague attribute, and those without hard fates had better avoid casually chatting with Wood God.
