“It’s beyond doubt that Huang Daoqi wants to win you over. But after all, you’re a wild-born dragon, so he can’t be entirely sure you’re without problems. He let you absorb dragon power—this is clearly to draw you in. Yet even for dragons, this dragon power must be the most precious of resources. Think about it: who else would be willing to do such a thing after knowing someone for such a short time? The fact that he dares to do this shows two things. One, he wants to win you over, gain your trust, and have you remain loyal after receiving such a benefit. Two, he must have some hidden assurance. I don’t think his own strength alone can serve as that assurance. Because in the future, if you truly become a Dragon Knight as he predicts, you would no longer be someone he could suppress. That means the problem most likely lies within your body. After all, you ate what he gave you, absorbed the energy he provided—during that process, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to tamper with something.”
Bai Xiuxiu nodded, secretly impressed in her heart.
Lan Xuanyu’s thinking was meticulous. His judgment didn’t come from spotting something unusual, but from logical deduction.
Lan Xuanyu smiled and said, “But you don’t have to worry. I can sense that the trick he planted in you is very well hidden, embedded in your bloodline. Issues within the bloodline aren’t too serious—I should be able to help you resolve it. That’s why I want to ask our Senior Demon Queen in detail before we act. If it doesn’t affect you much, then to avoid arousing Huang Daoqi’s suspicion, we’d better wait and remain still for now. When it’s time to resolve it, I can cleanse your bloodline with my bloodline power, and that should take care of it.
“In fact, if Huang Daoqi *hadn’t* planted something in you, I’d actually be more concerned—that would mean he has other hidden methods he hasn’t used yet. That would be far more troublesome.”
Bai Xiuxiu said, “I’m really no good at schemes and intrigue… thankfully, you’re here. So, what should we do next?”
Lan Xuanyu replied, “The fact that he recognized you as his goddaughter shows that you’re even more important than he initially thought. That’s why he was so eager to draw closer to you. This also means he has no suspicion of you. So just carry on as usual—train normally. Once you finish digesting the dragon power you absorbed, go to see him again and propose absorbing more dragon power. Then we’ll observe how he reacts. But I’d guess he’ll probably come to you first, to check on your condition. After that, he should pass down the Dragon Knight cultivation method to you. After all, he clearly holds you in high regard.”
Bai Xiuxiu nodded, saying, “I could feel that after I absorbed the dragon power, the way he looked at me changed a lot. It seems my absorption results gave him quite a shock. Xuanyu, this dragon power feels extremely pure and powerful. If you absorb it, wouldn’t it be greatly beneficial for you too?”
Lan Xuanyu said, “The benefits are undeniable. But as for how great they would be, I can’t say for sure—I’d have to try it myself. That’s why, for us, the Huang family’s Dragon Power Hall is a very important place.”Bai Xiuxiu frowned slightly and asked, “Then, according to our earlier plan, could you appear as my boyfriend and join them too?”
Lan Xuanyu shook his head. “That won’t work anymore. It would be too obvious, too easy to expose us. Especially since Huang Yuanlang clearly has feelings for you. But your display of ability this time should serve as some deterrence, enough to stop him from harassing you further—at most, he’ll try to curry favor with you. If you suddenly appeared with a boyfriend, he’d surely be furious and cause even greater trouble for us. Adding one more person would only increase suspicion. It would backfire. On the way back just now, I was already thinking about it. We can’t take that route.”
A sudden smile spread across Bai Xiuxiu’s face. Her gaze lingered on Lan Xuanyu’s face, her deep blue eyes studying him carefully.
Feeling a little uneasy under her stare, Lan Xuanyu asked, “What are you looking at?”
Bai Xiuxiu chuckled. “I just thought of a really good idea. Maybe it could solve the problem you just mentioned.”
“What idea?” Lan Xuanyu asked, puzzled.
Bai Xiuxiu whispered a few words. In that instant, Lan Xuanyu’s expression drastically changed, while Tang Yuge and Yuanen Huihui nearby also revealed strange looks.
“No way, no way.” Lan Xuanyu waved his hands repeatedly, refusing her suggestion.
Bai Xiuxiu burst out laughing. “Why not? I think it’s a great plan! It perfectly solves the problem you mentioned. Think about it: the Dragon Power Hall must hide the greatest secret of Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet. If we rely only on ourselves to investigate slowly, who knows how much time it will take, or how much risk we’d have to endure, just for a slim chance. Even Huang Yuanlang doesn’t seem to know how to use the Dragon Power Hall. I’m sure only Huang Daoqi knows. And this method would allow you to use the Dragon Power Hall in the shortest possible time. Don’t you think it’s worth considering?”
“I…” Lan Xuanyu looked at Bai Xiuxiu, convinced her idea was just her mischievous sense of humor at play.
“I think it’s worth trying, Brother Xuanyu—hahaha, it’s great,” Yuanen Huihui suddenly laughed out loud.
Tang Yuge, beside him, also couldn’t help smiling. “I also think Xiuxiu’s idea is good. Plus… I kind of want to see it myself.”
Exasperated, Lan Xuanyu snapped, “Are you all possessed by demons?! Go rest already. Let me think about it again. Xiuxiu, just follow Huang Daoqi’s guidance and cultivate. When Senior Demon Queen wakes up, notify me right away. Then we’ll discuss how to handle the issue in your bloodline.”
Finishing his words, he almost fled, striding quickly out under the three pairs of watchful eyes. His earlier image of wisdom and composure had completely collapsed.
“Ha ha ha ha!” Bai Xiuxiu’s laughter rang out behind him.
Back in his own room, Lan Xuanyu couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head, then steadied himself and thought again about Bai Xiuxiu’s suggestion. He had to admit—it really did have some feasibility.
But even so, he wasn’t very keen on trying it!
He turned on his communicator and checked the messages from Qian Lei and Liu Feng.
They had already made contact with Liang Pu. Everything was fine. Liang Pu had made some money and was starting to look for a shop.
As for housing, Qian Lei and the others were already searching. Qian Lei said finding a suitable place wasn’t too difficult—they should secure one within a day or two.
Everything was proceeding smoothly according to his plan. At least they had successfully infiltrated the area and the situation was stable.
The next steps would actually be easier than he initially expected. With Bai Xiuxiu’s new identity as Huang Daoqi’s daughter, making money would become much simpler. However, to avoid exposure, Lan Xuanyu temporarily wouldn’t bring out any forged metals. Instead, they would engage in normal trade following Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet’s commercial model, leveraging the city lord(s resources where possible. It wouldn’t take long before they accumulated significant wealth.
At that point, they could begin expanding outward, seeking more opportunities.
As long as they stayed away from Dragon City, their chances of exposure were minimal. Even if they did go to Dragon City, as long as they avoided Celestial Dragon Planet’s Head Dragon, they were unlikely to be discovered.
The only one who had ever seen Lan Xuanyu was that Head Dragon, who would certainly recognize his aura. But Lan Xuanyu was different now. With Dragon God Transformation and Nirvanic Divine Lightning as a cover, even the Head Dragon might not recognize him right away.
