Chapter 84 Breaking Out of the Aerodrome

"Beep beep!" A large vehicle with its headlights on seemed to charge directly towards them.

Luo Xiaole squinted into the headlights, her eyes fixed on the approaching vehicle.

The bus was speeding directly towards them.

"It's over, we didn't die from zombies, and now we're going to be run over! Xiaole, our lives are so bitter!" Luo Shu, seeing the speed of the charging bus, wailed loudly.

It wasn't their school bus, and they had no idea who was driving this one.

The bus roared forward, kicking up a thick layer of dust from the airport grounds.

As the vehicle drew closer, Luo Xiaole felt her body remain un-tensed.

A part of her anxiety immediately subsided. Could it be that the approaching party meant them no harm?

As expected.

The moment the bus lunged forward, its front door suddenly swung open, and a dark figure emerged halfway.

Simultaneously, several gusts of wind blades slashed out.

Like miniature tornadoes, they instantly swept away the zombies blocking Luo Xiaole and her group!

Luo Xiaole clearly saw who it was and her lips curved upwards involuntarily.

It was a familiar face.

"Don't worry, Luo Shu, you won't be passing on to the next life this time," Luo Xiaole felt a surge of happiness.

The figure leaning out was the sharp-looking woman with short black hair she had met twice at the supermarket.

The woman leaned out, her sharp gaze sweeping over everyone else before finally settling on Luo Xiaole.

"Get in!" Her voice was as firm and powerful as ever.

"Hurry!" Luo Xiaole shouted urgently to her companions.

Luo Shu lunged forward and decapitated a zombie.

"Coming! Coming!" He was practically a bounding puppy.

Nie Yuan and the others heard Luo Xiaole's call and looked at the scene before them with astonishment.

However, they dared not delay. They quickened their pace, fending off zombies with their weapons as they scrambled onto the bus with Luo Xiaole.

Ignoring the pain in her injured leg, Luo Xiaole leaped onto the bus.

Before she could steady herself, she turned around and saw Mo Chen being bitten by a zombie that had lunged at him, his other arm still incapacitated.

Although she knew the protective clothing's effect hadn't worn off yet and Mo Chen would be fine, she still felt a pang of concern.

"Mo Chen, quickly!" She clutched a handrail with her left hand, extending her right arm, a scrawny, bony limb.

Mo Chen suddenly saw her slender arm and felt as if it would snap if she exerted any force.

He quickly lowered his outstretched hand.

Turning, he cleaved through the approaching zombies, sending several heads to the ground!

Then, with a long stride, he ran, turned, and landed lightly on the back of the bus, his figure darting into the vehicle.

"Go!" The black-haired woman saw that all of Luo Xiaole's group had boarded.

She crisply commanded the person in the driver's seat.

The driver nodded, hit the gas, and prepared to make a turn.

"Don't leave! Wait for us!"

"Wait for us, please!" The voices of a few people behind them cried out almost desperately.

The bus doors had not yet fully closed.

An arm urgently reached in, blocking the door.

Luo Xiaole recognized them – a few people who had been running with them earlier, now standing in a circle around the bus.

Cold sweat beaded on the black-haired woman's forehead.

Zombies were already closing in. If these people continued to block the way, it would be difficult for their bus to break free.

"Give me five seconds to get on board." Her voice sharpened abruptly.

At the same time, the front and rear doors opened swiftly.

"We... we're coming!" The group finally dispersed from around the bus and scrambled in through the front and rear doors.

The moment they were on board, the doors slammed shut.

Several lunging zombies were immediately cut off.

"Drive! Quickly!" Her voice also became laced with urgency.

Other zombies swarmed towards them, banging violently on the windows, leaving behind bloody handprints!

The bus driver was experienced with large vehicles.

He wrenched the steering wheel, flooring the accelerator.

The bus surged forward, crushing several zombies.

Then, it swerved into an opening, becoming a projectile shot from a bow.

It accelerated wildly towards the exit of the airport, hurtling outwards.

The bus sped along the perimeter of the airport terminal, taking the shortest route and rushing out.

The sound of the wind howled in their ears, accompanied by the enraged roars of countless surrounding zombies.

"I was so scared, so scared..." The people who had just boarded slapped their chests, their hearts finally settling.

"Thump!"

A loud noise erupted from the roof of the bus.

"What's happening now!" The last person to board cried out in terror.

Luo Xiaole gripped the clock in her pocket with her left hand and reached into her pocket with her right, preparing a thumbtack.

She eyed the roof warily.

Several normal-skinned human hands dangled from the roof, waving at them through the windows.

As if signaling for help.

Had someone fallen onto their bus roof?

Where did they fall from?

"Damn, what a small world!" Zhou Xiaojun activated his ability and listened to the sounds on the roof. "It's Big Comb-over and his crew!" he gritted his teeth.

Big Comb-over and his group tapped on the bus's sunroof.

They gestured for Luo Xiaole's group to open the window and let them in.

"Don't let them in! It's too dangerous right now, who knows if they've been bitten by zombies!" The people who had boarded later desperately objected.

The short-haired girl frowned deeply.

If they hadn't caused trouble earlier, and if she had let them on board without hesitation, these people wouldn't have the opportunity to pick and choose now.

Truly ungrateful.

She simply couldn't stand their attitude.

"Xiaole, let them in, they seem to be trying to pry open the windows and sunroof!" Zhou Xiaojun said with a worried expression.

"Ah? Then hurry up and let them in! If the car windows break, and zombies come, we won't survive either!" Those same people chimed in again, their attitudes having completely reversed.

Luo Xiaole rubbed her temples. These people... how could they have two faces...

And switch so quickly...

Before she could act, one of them lunged forward and opened the sunroof.

A figure stumbled and fell through the opening.

As he landed, a stream of liquid suddenly appeared on the floor, cushioning his rear and providing a buffer.

Otherwise, with the way he fell, his backside would have at least suffered a minor fracture, if not completely ruined.

Luo Xiaole focused and saw that it was indeed Big Comb-over.

He looked considerably more disheveled.

If Big Comb-over was here, then his remaining brothers...

As expected, Big Comb-over gave Luo Xiaole an embarrassed smile.

Then he shouted up at the sunroof, "Hurry and come down, I'll catch you!"

Then his two brothers jumped down one after another.

As they landed, Big Comb-over, drenched in sweat, activated his ability, and several streams of water converged on the floor, forming a small fountain.

With the cushioning of the water, they managed to land one by one and stand up somewhat unsteadily.

"Well, well," Luo Shu chuckled softly, "it's you guys. What's with the grand entrance from the sky this time?"

Luo Xiaole stood to the side, arms crossed, looking at the newcomers with some displeasure.

It wasn't enough that Big Comb-over had brought his two remaining brothers, but he had also brought Zuo Ran and that sickly looking boy.

Zuo Ran really was a survivor...

"We were cornered by the window on the second floor, with no way out. We happened to see your bus passing by, so we... wanted a... ride..." Big Comb-over looked at Luo Xiaole again, his usual arrogance gone.

He was nervous, stuttering as he explained.

By now, the bus had narrowly escaped the zombie encirclement and was speeding down the highway outside the airport.

The pursuing zombies in the distance had shrunk to tiny black dots, receding from them.

Luo Xiaole scanned the interior of the bus.

Apart from Big Comb-over and his two brothers, Zuo Ran and that boy...

Most of the people who had scrambled onto the bus earlier were strangers to her.

But the two who had been lurking suspiciously at the back...

She frowned.

It was those two who had tried to snatch her ring!

It seemed they had been following them from the beginning.

Truly a case of enemies meeting on a narrow road...
