Fourth Uncle

Chapter 1620 Your Death, Most Reassuring

Azure Dragon glared at Tathagata, saying, "You little Tathagata, the Three Realms became this way entirely because of you. However, seeing that you've now repented and are leading these baldies behind you to slay the alien demons, it shows your sincerity."

Although it disliked Tathagata, he was now a great help.

"Amitabha!" Tathagata chanted the Buddhist name, saying, "Heaven has compassion for all living beings. The Three Realms can no longer withstand another great war. I am here to end the slaughter."

Azure Dragon was furious.

Just as it was about to speak, Chen Nan raised his hand to interrupt him and then looked at Tathagata, "If I understand you correctly, you wish to protect the alien demons?"

Tathagata's face was filled with compassion, "This old monk does not protect the alien demons; I merely do not wish to see more bloodshed."

Azure Dragon cursed vehemently, "Damn you! If you have such compassion, why did you stand by and watch countless gods perish ten thousand years ago? Why did you turn a blind eye to the alien demons attacking the Three Realms?"

"Are the lives of alien demons lives, while the lives of others are but blades of grass?"

The gods in the sky were filled with killing intent.

The events of ten thousand years ago were a deep shame in their hearts.

It was all because of Tathagata that the current situation had arisen.

Compared to Azure Dragon's anger, Chen Nan appeared quite calm, "So, if we make a move against the alien demons, you will intervene and suppress us?"

Tathagata sighed softly, "The Three Realms can no longer endure any more turmoil!"

"Then let's fight!" Chen Nan's eyes blazed with incredible fighting spirit.

He wanted Tathagata to be the sinner.

He did not want him to repent.

Because only by killing him could they do justice to the countless gods who had died tragically ten thousand years ago, and to all living beings.

"Wu Tong, your life is mine," Sun Wukong roared like thunder, brandishing his Ruyi Jingu Bang, transforming into an afterimage as he charged at Wu Tong.

He had not been able to defeat Liu Er ten thousand years ago.

Today was the day to avenge that humiliation.

"Kill!" Wu Tong uttered a cold voice, and countless alien demons shrieked and charged at the gods in the sky. The overwhelming demonic energy cast a pall over the world.

Although the gods radiated their protective divine light, it was too faint to illuminate the void, causing them to look grim and feel a sense of powerlessness once more.

Because ten thousand years ago, they had been enveloped by darkness, seeing no light, and were thus defeated one by one.

Even the Saints had been severely wounded by this tactic, leading to their demise.

Chen Nan's mind stirred.

The Eternal Flame soared into the sky, like a blazing sun hanging in the firmament, illuminating all directions. The gods in the sky were filled with joy, as if injected with adrenaline, and charged at the alien demons.

Chen Nan also ordered his zombie legion to attack. Although they had been dead for countless years, their physical bodies were terrifying and possessed the ability to destroy the heavens and earth.

The void twisted like waves in a vast ocean, giving the impression that it could rupture at any moment.

"Tathagata, your life is mine," Azure Dragon let out a low growl and lunged at Tathagata.

A golden light shot out from behind Tathagata. He wore a golden kasaya and was enveloped in divine radiance, "Azure Dragon, it is not your place to cause trouble here!"

"Manjushri, you think you can stop me?" Azure Dragon recognized Manjushri Bodhisattva and his eyes were filled with disdain.

Although Manjushri Bodhisattva had long since attained Buddhahood and was the strongest ancient Buddha under Tathagata, he had now become a Sacred Dragon.

He did not take Manjushri seriously at all.

"What about us?"

Figures appeared behind Manjushri Bodhisattva; they were the top combat forces of the Western world.

"Do you think numbers can defeat me?" Azure Dragon's eyes were filled with disdain. "I am no longer someone you can contend with." It let out a deafening dragon roar and charged towards the Western powerhouses led by Manjushri Bodhisattva.

*Snap!*

Chen Nan stood in the void, lit a cigarette silently, and then looked at Tathagata, his gaze calm, "It seems I have to face you, you bald donkey."

"I truly want to know, why did you kill the real Sun Wukong on the journey to the west?"

"I also want to know, when the Heavenly Court was shattered and countless gods perished, did you ever feel any compassion in your heart?"

"I even more want to know, in these past ten thousand years, day and night, have you ever felt even a shred of remorse?"

"I also want to know, when you recall the Saints and familiar acquaintances who died tragically in that battle, did your conscience ever trouble you?"

He smiled and shook his head, "Of course, this is just my wish."

"I do not expect you to give me an answer; none of that is important to me."

"What's important is that as long as I kill you, those who died unjustly will find solace."

"Your death will be the greatest comfort to all."

Tathagata was enraged, "Everything this old monk has done is for the survival of the Three Realms." His voice boomed like thunder, shaking the very void.

Chen Nan retorted angrily, "Your so-called 'for the Three Realms' means allowing the Three Realms to be ruled by alien demons, allowing them to slaughter the citizens of my Three Realms?"

Seeing Tathagata speechless, Chen Nan sneered, "Why do you have to roar so loudly? Does shouting louder make you seem more righteous?"

Tathagata was powerful.

He was a top expert in the Three Realms.

But he was no longer the same as he was now.

Possessing the Seven Elemental Great Daos, no one in the Three Realms could defeat him.

Just as Tathagata was about to speak, black cracks appeared deep in the Nine Heavens.

The cracks grew larger and larger, and a world-destroying aura erupted in the sky, causing both the gods and demons to look up in unison.

As they gazed at the sky, their eyes were filled with deep fear and unease.

They knew.

The sky was falling.

This firmament could not withstand the battle between so many top powerhouses.

"The sky collapses, the earth cracks, and the Three Realms are annihilated. Is this the result you desire?" Tathagata let out a heavy cold snort, his eyes filled with anger. "Although Nuwa mended the heavens back then, this heaven is not the original heaven."

"Like a broken mirror that cannot be pieced back together, it has already shattered!"

"If Buddhism had stopped the alien demons from engaging in such a fierce battle back then, how could it have held on until today?"

"Everything this old monk has done is for the Three Realms."

"Wow!" Chen Nan exclaimed with feigned surprise, "So, does that mean I, Chen Nan, have wronged you, failed to understand your benevolent intentions, and am therefore a non-human?"

"Should I kneel before you, repent, shave my head, and become a monk under your tutelage?"

His tone shifted, his face contorted with ferocity, and he roared, "But have you ever considered that the invasion of alien demons was all because you let Liu Er Mi Hou run rampant?"

"Without cause, how can there be effect?"

"Is admitting your mistakes so damn difficult for you?"
