Chapter 49 Grandiose Style

Chapter 14 .,!

Two hours later, a dusty Land Rover Discovery pulled up steadily in front of the residential complex. The buxom Pachuli extended a plump leg, her scarlet high heels and black stockings touching the ground. Then, with a sway of her ample behind, she sauntered toward the gatehouse.

Her attire was exceptionally provocative. To put it bluntly, seeing her underwear would require forcefully parting her massive, fleshy buttocks...

She arrived alone. The virus's main body remained hidden in the darkness. This never-seen summoner possessed a childlike voice, yet a venomous heart, and moved as silently and mysteriously as a bat.

Strangely, the guards who were usually so diligent were nowhere to be seen. The fellow who had grilled Fang Senyan was still in the guardhouse, but he was slumped over the desk, seemingly dozing off from the early morning weariness.

Pachuli chuckled softly and, with a jiggle of her ample breasts, entered the dark residential area.

Their plan, of course, was to pull off something big. The residents of this complex were already initially infected with the T-virus. In an hour and a half, most of them would become powerful weapons of the virus! And those trailing behind (referring to Fang Senyan and his group) would quickly turn into merit points, equipment, and a pool of blood.

Everything was normal, everything was unfolding according to the pre-written script.

Standing before the reinforced security door of the Van Thistle residence, Pachuli's fingertip once again tore a clear light in the air. The high-frequency cutting line silently severed the lock bolts. Pachuli slipped inside as silently as a cat with sharp claws and thick paw pads. In the presence of many, her attire evoked the image of a cow, but now her movements were as lithe as a cat.

Almost in the blink of an eye, Pachuli had thoroughly scouted the residence.

She couldn't help but curse "fuck" under her breath, her face darkening. Everything seemed perfectly normal... The only abnormality was that the person she was looking for wasn't in the house.

"Could we have received false intelligence?" A chill ran through Pachuli. She quickly checked again and noticed several noteworthy details: the water in the bathroom tub was still warm, there was a faint scent of cigarettes in the living room, scattered ashes on the floor, a glass with leftover wine on the coffee table, and half a pizza in the microwave. "Yes, this guy must have left in a hurry." Pachuli concluded. After a moment's thought, she pressed the answering machine button.

"Dear David, I haven't seen you for days. I miss you so much my fingers are aching... The Chuan Bo Ba nightclub is having a 30% discount."

Even though Pachuli looked like a boisterous, unrestrained woman, hearing this message made her forehead wrinkle. She immediately skipped to the next message: "This is the Kivell Insurance Company, providing services for you. Do you feel like life is full of uncertainty and crisis..."

Pachuli skipped to the next message as soon as she heard that. Quickly, she found the recording she needed: "Hey, Van Thistle, I admit we've had some disagreements in the past, but I believe you'll forgive us after this collaboration, because we've got our hands on something extremely important to those mysterious mutant superpower users! Its value to them may even exceed the entire city of New York. I know what you're thinking and what you're going to say, so to show my sincerity, I'll give you the deposit first. Everything will be done the way you like it. I'm waiting for your reply online. Trust me, this is a deal that even the devil would be jealous of!"

Hearing this, Pachuli immediately glanced at the master bedroom and spotted a super notebook computer. "Hey, Virus, it's time for you to show up. See what interesting information I've found? These plot characters actually managed to get something critical to us!"

The Virus still didn't appear, but spoke in her clear, childlike voice: "I think our top priority is to figure out where the target went."

Pachuli retorted impatiently, "Of course, of course, but will it take you long to crack that damn computer? I just want to see what they consider to be critical to us. Besides, while doing this hacking thing, we might also find out Van Thistle's whereabouts. Maybe Mr. Van Thistle will suddenly come home while we're waiting."

"Ugh, alright, alright, you always make me feel like the truth is on your side." Soon, the Virus appeared in front of the super notebook. Her entire body was wrapped in mummy-like bandages, stained with dirty, dried pus and blood. Her gender was completely indistinguishable from her appearance; all that could be felt was that her figure was as thin as a seven- or eight-year-old child.

As soon as the Virus opened the computer, she started tapping away at the keyboard. In less than three minutes, her tone had become serious: "Pachuli, your intuition is amazing. Van Thistle seems to be playing for keeps. Do you know what those guys gave him as a deposit?"

Pachuli flashed a bright smile and said, "I knew my intuition was sharp. Tell me, dear Virus."

The Virus answered her question in a very direct way. She tapped the keyboard a few times, displaying an image to Pachuli.

Pachuli gasped, "Ten perfect dinosaur crystals!! Enough to exchange for the highest grade dinosaur genetic fluid!! That means thirty free base attribute points!"

The Virus said coldly, "And such expensive things are just the deposit. Pachuli, I find myself wanting to know what these guys are calling: Something critical to us. Hey, this guy even got a Matrix firewall. Does he think that can stop me?"

Time passed quickly. Suddenly, the Virus let out a cry of joy! But her voice immediately changed to a deep tone: "I've broken through. Let's see what this is."

After a few keystrokes from the Virus, a close-up photo of a dull, black stone was enlarged on the computer screen. The two looked at each other. "Do you know what this is?"

"No idea."

"Me neither, because this thing's shape is too generic. It could apply to too many templates."

Even as the Virus spoke, her eyes never left the screen for a moment. Suddenly, she said with a gnashing of teeth: "But we'll know what this thing is soon, because Van Thistle didn't take it with him!!"

Pachuli immediately realized the unspoken implication of the Virus's words, and took a deep breath. "You mean, he left these things at home when he went out in a hurry?"

"That's right. That mysterious Mr. A, he's the one who asked Van Thistle to discuss the details. Mr. A seems to have more of this stuff on him. That black stone is just a sample. Van Thistle used his connections to find him a big client."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Pachuli gave a wicked smile. "Although we're not good at finding secret rooms or contraptions, tearing down this house shouldn't take too long."

"Rattling…"

"Rumbling…"

Under the hard work of Pachuli, who had transformed into a violent demolition team, Van Thistle's master bedroom quickly became a garbage dump, filled with smoke and dust…

"Wait a minute! Something seems wrong here." The Virus suddenly said, her observational skills were excellent, as she noticed Van Thistle's unique contraption that used the sole of a slipper to open it.

"So secretive! How can one design something like this."

Pachuli's silver fingertip coldly tore a horizontal line in the air. The high-frequency cutting line silently sank into the wall. She was always good at using violence to solve everything complicated.

The next second, the hidden safe was in front of them. Money and gold were ignored by the two of them. Until they saw the pocket, the pocket that, once opened, had ten perfect dinosaur crystals glittering with light!!

The two reached out at the same time, grabbing the pocket together. After a dry laugh, they compromised. A fifty-fifty split… But the box under the pocket drew even more attention to the two. They reached out at the same time again, but this time neither was willing to back down.

The two stared at each other without giving way for a moment, then counted to 1, 2, 3, and opened the box together. Then both only extended one finger, pressing it onto the unremarkable black stone in the middle of the box.

"Ah!!!!!!"

"Ya!!!!!!"

The first sound came from Pachuli, who screamed as if she had first taken K-powder and then ecstasy to reach endless ecstasy.

The second sound came from the Virus, who screamed sharply as if her hands and feet had been chopped off and salt sprinkled on them.

"Ignore, material with true damage that ignores defense! Its value is even greater than dark gold equipment!"

After the screams, there was no sound at all. A silence like a morgue enveloped the dilapidated room.

The air in the room seemed to freeze, taut and tense, as if ice had frozen the sound.

An atmosphere of killing intent permeated the air!.
