Chapter 13 The End of the Escape
Fang Senyan stared at the enemy before him with a fixed, even somewhat dull, gaze. His mind was no longer occupied with other thoughts, because in this near-death situation, what was needed was courage, perseverance, and even a little bit of luck to survive.
If he were to divide his attention under these circumstances, it could only be described with two words: courting death!
There's a saying: "No madness, no survival." Fang Senyan was now close to a state of "madness." His eyes were fixed only on the tip of the dagger in Hakim's hand, and his heart was completely calm.
This was a natural protective measure that appeared in a person's mind after being pushed to the limit. Everyone feared death, but from ancient times to the present, no one had ever escaped it. Some people, before death, could transcend this pressure, like a calm sea. Even experiences that had been forgotten deep in memory would replay once in the brain in a final flash of recollection.
For Fang Senyan, this state of mind was something he was experiencing for the first time. Before, when facing desperate situations, he could ignite his fighting spirit in madness, unleashing two hundred percent of his power, maintaining composure, and exchanging injuries with his opponent to ultimately achieve victory.
But! This Hakim, though not the most powerful enemy he had encountered, was the most deadly!
The timing and terrain were controlled by Hakim. In terms of advantage, Hakim could completely suppress Fang Senyan in terms of agility and perception!
Facing this enemy, Fang Senyan was very clear that as long as he fought desperately under the current circumstances, there would only be one outcome: death!
At most, he would kill himself and seriously injure the enemy. Moreover, this was a battle between contractors; a serious injury or disability wouldn't cause any psychological pressure for the victor.
So, Fang Senyan's current state was to persevere, to keep himself alive as long as possible. His mind was free of distractions, focusing solely on defense, which truly made Hakim's style, like a venomous snake delivering a fatal bite, very uncomfortable.
However, Hakim was also an extremely experienced fighter. Since he couldn't deliver a fatal blow, he would play it safe, making every attack stable, accurate, and ruthless, bringing pain and wounds to his opponent.
At the same time, he was on high alert because no one would willingly resign themselves to death. Cases of turning the tables after clearly having the upper hand were common. In addition, that inexplicable cough from earlier made him feel unusually eerie, because the battle log showed absolutely no information about it!
Hakim didn't know that his rank was lower than Fang Senyan's, and the Virus Monarch inherently possessed very powerful concealment abilities. More importantly, since it didn't cause him any damage, there was naturally no way to display it.
Even so, Hakim's heart was still shadowed by this matter. He was on high alert, preventing this person in front of him from suddenly erupting and creating some kind of abnormal situation. But, as he attacked like a storm, while also defending impregnably, an indescribable feeling once again emerged from his body.
Hakim suddenly felt as if his lungs were being pierced by thousands of needles!
Everyone needs to breathe, but at this moment, he clearly felt that his lungs had completely shut down! He couldn't inhale even half a breath, and the stale air between his chest and abdomen couldn't be exhaled either. This sudden situation was completely different from holding his breath! What disturbed people's minds was not only pain and tension, but also the fear of the unknown.
Seizing this great opportunity, Fang Senyan, covered in wounds all over his body, moved suddenly! He had been waiting for this moment for too long! His originally empty and dull eyes suddenly became incredibly lively. In this instant, he cut through the car wall beside him with a single slash, and leaped out amidst the flying shards.
Hakim took a step, wanting to chase, but the sharp pain in his lungs stopped him. But for Hakim, who possessed an overwhelming advantage in agility and perception, the mocking look in his eyes grew even stronger... Even if he let Fang Senyan escape a kilometer first, he would absolutely not be able to escape his pursuit.
However, Fang Senyan's leap was purposeful. Covered in blood, he hugged his legs in the air, forming a ball and jumping out! Fang Senyan knew very well the speed difference between him and Hakim, so his target wasn't the road surface, but a Ford SUV driving by at relatively high speed.
For ordinary people, Fang Senyan's behavior would undoubtedly be suicidal, but for contractors, this action would only add a little extra skin trauma, and there was nothing else to worry about. More importantly, the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions. By the time Hakim recovered from the negative effects of pneumonia and the pain in his chest, Fang Senyan, clutching the luggage rack on the roof of the car, was already fifty meters away.
"This damned guy, he's faster at escaping than a rabbit!" Hakim said with a livid face, but a grim smile also appeared on the corner of his mouth:
"But, do you think you can escape my grasp like this?"
As Hakim spoke, he raised the basketball he was carrying with him in both hands!
An orange basketball.
This basketball didn't seem to be anything special compared to an ordinary basketball, but the expression on Hakim's face as he held the basketball was filled with solemnity, sternness, and a hard-to-describe respect.
The basketball emitted a flame-like light, and then, Hakim dribbled the basketball twice, and suddenly began to make a standard three-step layup, as if there really was an invisible and transparent basketball hoop in front of him.
And just as the basketball fell into that invisible "hoop," it suddenly disappeared. When the basketball reappeared, it was like a burning meteorite falling from the sky, appearing abruptly above the SUV that Fang Senyan had climbed onto, and then bombarding it fiercely!
Hakim's attack was so bizarre and sudden that the only thing Fang Senyan had time to do was to hug his head with both hands.
With a loud "boom," the Ford car was immediately buried in a violent explosion and fireworks. The steel beam structure of the car body shot out of the road with flames, crashing into a house next to it! A second explosion occurred!
Hakim jumped down from the bus he was on with a sneer, and said yinnishly:
"Aren't you dead yet?"
But the next second, his pupils contracted, because Fang Senyan's figure, wrapped in raging flames, appeared in front of him again. Although that figure was walking staggeringly, it didn't look like it was about to die at all. He even looked back, and the bone-chilling coldness in his eyes made Hakim feel a chill. He even had a premonition that if he couldn't kill this guy today, he might be killed by him tomorrow!
The flames on Fang Senyan's body gradually extinguished. Yes, although he was definitely no match for Hakim in running, this was a highway. After crawling out of the burning car wreckage, Fang Senyan unhesitatingly pounced on a small truck swaying and driving from behind, kicked the driver out with two or three kicks, and then stepped on the gas pedal and fled. No matter how fast Hakim ran, he couldn't compete with a speeding car for a long time on this wide open road!
Faced with this situation, Hakim's eyes turned red. How could he let the cooked duck fly away like this? More importantly, failing to kill a snake only invites more trouble. If he couldn't kill this guy under these conditions today, then what about in the future? Hakim's combat experience was extremely rich. He had vaguely guessed the true identity of the guy in front of him. He was so durable; he was probably a T with terrifying potential! Most importantly, T's equipment was especially valuable!
So, Hakim didn't give up at all, chasing frantically. Then, he jumped in the direction of a car that had just been started on the side of the road, slit the driver's throat with a knife, and then stepped on the gas pedal with a grim face, saying that he would chase Fang Senyan to the death.
And because there was a roadside parking lot nearby, Hakim specially chose a white Volkswagen Scirocco R with very good performance. Chasing on this kind of highway at this time could exert considerable advantages!
Fang Senyan's onset of pneumonia symptoms: intermittent chest pain, controlled Hakim for three seconds. He had to complete the action of jumping out of the car within these three seconds, so the actual time to widen the distance was only 1.5 seconds.
And Hakim destroyed the car that Fang Senyan was in with his illusion basketball, so the distance between the two was shortened again. Therefore, even with the time Hakim took to start the car, the Scirocco only needed 6.2 seconds to accelerate from starting to 100 kilometers per hour, so the distance between the two in this chase was at most within ten seconds!
So, Hakim still had absolute confidence that he could catch up with the guy in front of him and then brutally cut open his neck to bleed him out. If Fang Senyan dared to jump down halfway to change cars, then he would be courting death.
However, Fang Senyan was still tirelessly escaping, and was running for his life. The wind whistled in his ears, and the road stretched rapidly to both sides. His face was pale, his lips were cracked, and his eye sockets were sunken due to excessive blood loss.
This was the first time Fang Senyan had been forced into this situation. He was like a skinny stray dog, forced to flee in panic while hungry and cold. As the Statue of Liberty holding a torch in the distance slowly approached, the flames in Fang Senyan's eyes burned again, but this time the flames were yin cold, sharp, and angry!
"Hakim, is it? When I walk out of the Statue of Liberty again, I will make you experience what I am feeling now, tenfold, a hundredfold, returned to you!"
The thoughts are sorted out, tomorrow three...rq!
