Chapter 12 Enticement (Continuing to Ask for Recommendations)
Fang Senyan took a step closer to one of the policemen and, under his astonished gaze, kneed him in the abdomen! The intense pain almost made the policeman cry out, but his training allowed him to suppress the scream. He immediately retaliated with an uppercut to the enemy’s jaw.
Under normal circumstances, his opponent would have covered his face, staggered, and retreated, but the cruel reality was that Fang Senyan merely tilted his head and immediately delivered a heavy blow to the back of the policeman’s head, knocking him unconscious.
Although Fang Senyan’s fighting skills were still at a rookie level with numerous openings, his innate ability ensured that the enemy’s close-quarters counterattacks were greatly weakened, creating an extremely unfair situation!
The other policeman realized something was wrong and immediately drew his gun from his armpit, but Fang Senyan kicked a stool with his right foot, sending it flying with a whooshing sound. The policeman quickly dodged to the side. The stool smashed against the wall with a crack, breaking into pieces. But by the time he regained his balance and aimed his gun again, Fang Senyan had already closed the distance, grabbed the policeman’s neck with one hand, and slammed him hard against the wall!
The policeman immediately slumped against the wall like a pile of mud. However, mindful of Quist’s previous experience, Fang Senyan didn’t dare to kill him, only rendering the two policemen unconscious and unable to fight.
The commotion in the room naturally alerted the officers outside, who shouted angrily and drew their guns, banging loudly on the door. But they dared not shoot indiscriminately, fearing stray bullets might injure their colleagues inside. Therefore, the locked door could at least buy Fang Senyan ten seconds.
Every action after entering the room had been rehearsed in Fang Senyan's mind several times. Before the policeman in his hand collapsed, he grabbed Quist's right arm on the bed. As long as he controlled the man's gun-wielding hand, Fang Senyan's intrusion would be perfect.
However, the white sheet covering the bed suddenly billowed up, covering Fang Senyan's face. The severely injured Quist still had the strength to fight back! A cold light flashed between his fingers. He was holding an incredibly sharp dagger! After arresting Quist, the police would have conducted a thorough search, and he was now wearing a hospital gown. Where did this guy find this weapon?
Facing the sudden attack, Fang Senyan only sneered. Without dodging, he continued to grab Quist’s wrist. The sharp dagger pierced his skin, penetrated his muscles, but couldn’t go any further after hitting solid bone. With a snap, it broke! This vicious stab was rendered harmless with the support of Fang Senyan’s innate ability. As far as Fang Senyan was concerned, the heavily injured Quist, without a gun, posed no threat!
At the same time, Fang Senyan’s hand grabbed Quist’s right wrist and forcefully twisted and pressed it downwards. Quist let out a miserable scream. His right hand was broken at the wrist against the edge of the bed! Fang Senyan then moved with lightning speed, breaking Quist’s left hand in the same way. Then he ripped the handcuffs from Quist's wrists, tearing off large pieces of flesh. The wounds on his wrists were naturally a bloody mess, incredibly tragic!
At the same time, the fragile door of the ward was kicked open by anxious policemen. In just a few seconds, at least five guns were pointed at Fang Senyan, and three people were roaring angrily for Fang Senyan to put his hands on his head and face the wall.
Fang Senyan laughed wildly, grabbed Quist, smashed through the window, and jumped from the third floor! His powerful strength allowed him to fully display the wildness in his nature. At the same time, gunshots rang out, and the ward was filled with smoke. At least seven or eight bullets hit his back! But it was useless! Fang Senyan had long tried to withstand the small-caliber pistols used by these policemen. Although dozens of blood flowers burst out on his back, they were only superficial injuries, forcing a deduction of a few points of health. Most of the bullets could only penetrate half an inch into his muscles before being squeezed out by the muscle contractions!
Compared to the dense gunshot wounds on his back, jumping from the third floor with a person injured Fang Senyan more. The moment he hit the ground, despite making evasive rolling movements, Fang Senyan still groaned and felt severe pain in his legs, and his health plummeted by nearly thirty points. Fortunately, he had already scouted his escape route. He immediately picked up the half-dead Quist and limped away, opened the door of a police car, jumped in, started the engine in a hurry, and disappeared into the distance.
After chasing down to the third floor, the furious policemen found that the tires of all the other police cars were flat. They could only dejectedly report to headquarters, but it was now around five in the morning, when people were sound asleep, and there was no way to get an efficient response.
Fang Senyan drove the police car around the streets for a few circles, made sure he wasn’t being followed by the police, and then drove into an alley. The environment here was terrible, with sewage flowing everywhere. Several drug addicts were lighting a fire to get high, but when they saw a police car rushing in, they were so scared that their souls flew away, and they immediately scattered.
Fang Senyan ignored the situation outside, turned to Quist, who had been thrown into the back seat, and smiled. His teeth looked eerily white in the dim light.
"Do you want to die or do you want to live?"
Quist was trembling all over from the cold and pain, his facial muscles contorted. He originally wanted to bite down and not make a sound, but in the end, he couldn't remain calm because his life and death were in someone else’s hands. In such a confined space at close range, Quist wouldn't be Fang Senyan's match even at his peak, let alone with both hands crippled.
"What's the difference between dying and living?"
Fang Senyan said indifferently, "If you want to die, I'll throw you into the street right now. If you want to live, then honestly answer my questions."
"Ask," Quist had been driven to the end of the road and didn’t have much of a choice, but his eyes flickered when he spoke, obviously with some ideas of his own.
"The police must have searched you and changed you into a hospital gown. Where did the dagger you used to stab me come from?" Fang Senyan asked this question first.
"After you complete your first mission, the nightmare imprint on your chest will have a storage function, which you can use at any time, but there are size/weight restrictions. As your nightmare imprint level increases, the storage space will also increase."
Quist said here, probably seeing the malicious glint in Fang Senyan's eyes, and immediately added, "You should have received a prompt when entering the world that this world is a peaceful scene. Killing each other between contractors will not drop any items unless the contractor himself is willing. Otherwise, no one can obtain items from this personal storage space. So even if you kill me, there's no benefit."
Fang Senyan's mouth twitched, then he said indifferently, "I know. The serious injuries on your body must have been self-inflicted, and they must be real injuries, otherwise you couldn't have fooled the doctors. And your goal, of course, was to escape the encirclement and get yourself into the hospital. But in the hospital, you still have to accept 24-hour continuous monitoring, and changes in your body can’t escape the feedback from the monitoring equipment. So, you must have a way to quickly restore your physical condition to its peak to escape from the heavily guarded treatment room!"
"What I want is this method that you're relying on as your last trump card!"
Quist was pierced by Fang Senyan’s sharp gaze and slowly lowered his head, stubbornly saying, "How do I know you won't kill me?"
Fang Senyan said coldly, "If you don't tell me, you will die now. If you do, then you might not die."
As if to strengthen his persuasion, Fang Senyan’s hand forcefully grabbed his throat. Quist took a deep breath. The powerful M500 handgun suddenly appeared on the car seat next to him, along with a dark shotgun. Obviously, these were the weapons Quist took out of his nightmare imprint.
When Quist was in the hospital bed, it wasn't that he didn't want to use these powerful weapons, but because the recoil of these two weapons was enormous, and he couldn't use them. He was already seriously injured, and one hand was still handcuffed to the bed. Under these circumstances, forcibly firing the gun, the accuracy was imaginable.
More importantly, Fang Senyan's raid on the ward didn't give him much time to react. By the time Quist realized someone was attacking, Fang Senyan had already closed within two or three meters. Within this range, the practicality of guns was indeed inferior to that of a dagger; otherwise, rifles wouldn't need to be fitted with bayonets.
Fang Senyan looked at the two weapons, released Quist’s neck, and finally showed a smile on his face, "I finally see you showing a little sincerity. Actually, you didn’t have to be so nervous. Have you considered your own value?"
The oxygen-deprived Quist gasped for air, looking at Fang Senyan with some fear, "What do you mean by that?"
Fang Senyan smiled and said, "Haven’t you realized that our strengths are actually very complementary?"
At this moment, the police car engine sputtered a few times and stalled. Fang Senyan got out of the police car, picked up Quist again, casually stuffed him into a car next to him, and then sat in the driver's seat, pulled the stunned driver out, and started the engine.
