Chapter End: Two

Chapter 3 Majini

The following is currently known information about the Plaga parasite:

Despite its recent discovery, this parasite, called Plaga, has been buried beneath the Salazar family castle for centuries.

This parasite infests human hosts and assimilates their central nervous systems. Infected humans lose their ability to think rationally and are controlled by another Plaga called the control Plaga (usually another infected person). The host loses the ability to think rationally, but still retains a human level of intelligence, such as understanding and communication. They are also able to use tools and cunningly deal with enemies in groups.

Leon S. Kennedy mentioned these infected humans he had encountered in his report. In his report, he called them Ganados.

The existence of this Plaga was also confirmed in this mission. It is not yet known how this parasite was discovered in Europe and spread to Africa. A bio-weapon dealer, Richard Owen, is wanted for questioning about this matter.

This information was obtained by the BSAA Alpha team at great personal risk. Their report indicates that someone obtained Plaga parasite samples from Europe, and through biochemical and genetic modification, created a more effective and dangerous bio-weapon.

This form of Plaga is defined by researchers as Plaga Type 2. This parasite has been confirmed multiple times in this African mission.

The most important infection characteristics of Type 2 are very different from the original type.

The Plaga parasite discovered in Europe is injected into the human body in egg form, where it matures inside the host before it can control the host's central nervous system.

Type 2, on the other hand, infects directly in its mature state. It enters through the host's organs, usually being forcibly stuffed into the target host's mouth.

This method generally causes the host's muscles to tremble violently and the body to spasm uncontrollably.

It is also worth noting that the original Plaga generally takes hours to days to assimilate the host, while Type 2 takes effect almost immediately. From this point alone, Type 2 is clearly a more effective weapon.

The Type 2 infection process has been witnessed by BSAA agents.

Type 2 seizes the host's central nervous system, causing the loss of rational thinking ability, and the host begins to obey control. (However, in order to use them as weapons, those who control them do not need to have a control Plaga to do so.)

The host maintains their intelligence and survival skills that they possessed before infection. This is the same as the original Plaga parasite.

It is speculated that in order to increase the number of reproductions, the parasite will control the host to infect others in order to increase the population.

According to reports, Type 2 hosts are called Majini, a word that means "evil spirit" in the local language.

Because of the existence of Code 2, it can be speculated that there may be other higher forms (such as Type 3 or Type 4). However, there is currently no information to confirm this.

Chapter 7 The Ndipaya Tribe

The Ndipaya tribe lives in special wooden buildings in wetlands. Their advanced construction technology is used to repair and maintain many damaged ruins and monuments around the world.

This is the greatest understanding the world has of the Ndipaya tribe.

But the Ndipaya people also retain a secret they don't want outsiders to know: the ruins of the ancient Ndipaya kingdom are buried beneath their feet.

In ancient times, this land was ruled by the king of the Ndipaya kingdom, and the city ruins underfoot were the royal city.

Of particular note is their method of choosing a king.

When the Ndipaya kingdom needs a new king, it is not through inheritance, but depends on his ability and performance in the ceremony. This ceremony uses a plant that grows in the Sun Garden deep beneath the royal city.

This plant is considered by them to be the ladder to the sun.

This ladder to the sun is a highly poisonous plant, and its effects are fatal. But some people can resist its toxicity.

The Ndipaya believe that if a person can overcome this poison, he is destined to be king.

(The Ndipaya still hold this ceremony once a year to appease the souls of their ancestors)

Nevertheless, it is very rare to find someone who can resist such a poison, and the Ndipaya people legend that such a king will be able to rule them for hundreds of years. However, whether this legend is true cannot be confirmed now.

But what is known is that this once prosperous kingdom eventually declined and was abandoned by the Ndipaya people.

It is not known what caused the Ndipaya people to abandon their city and move to the wetlands, but the Ndipaya still regard it as a sacred place and vow to protect it from being discovered by outsiders.

All Ndipaya men between the ages of 18 and 25 are required to defend the city for 2 years.

Thanks to their continuous efforts, the existence of this great city has never been discovered by the outside world.

However, an outsider discovered this mysterious city. In 1960, a company forcibly broke into this holy city and found the plant they used for the ceremony.

The Ndipaya launched a fierce resistance against the invasion. The Ndipaya have a good reputation in peacetime, but when war breaks out, they are tenacious warriors, which is a basic quality that all Ndipaya possess.

Their strong physique is the best weapon in battle, and they use it to fight bravely, but they are completely overwhelmed by the enemy's technological advantages.

(During this period, many young Ndipaya ate the plant in order to gain the ability to resist the invaders.)

Finally, the Ndipaya were forced to hand over the Sun Garden to the company.

But the Ndipaya have not given up, hoping that one day they can recover their sacred land and restore it to its former glory.
