Chapter 56 Dark Envoy
The winter wheat from the Palanor Plains was obviously small and yellow. Compared with the plump wheat from other places, it was like the difference between an undeveloped, snotty-nosed girl and a full-figured, voluptuous young woman seemingly overflowing with moisture.
Of course, this was only in terms of appearance.
It must be admitted that there was a reason why this winter wheat was called the "Palanor Gold" by ordinary people. First, mix it with water in a ratio of seven parts water to three parts wheat, then boil it in a large pot. After that, slowly simmer it over a low flame for an hour. The resulting wheat porridge was golden and thick, with a layer of oil-like substance on the surface of the rice soup, but it wasn't greasy.
Fang Senyan held this bowl of millet porridge, slowly blowing on it and drinking. The rice soup was mixed with appropriately cooked grains, and chewing them gave his teeth a slightly springy sensation. As the scalding rice soup slid down his throat, a comfortable feeling immediately spread throughout his body, driving away fatigue.
Fang Senyan wasn't sitting alone. Next to him were Bai Xiwen, Skull, Jax, and other key members. Across from these contractors sat a guy who looked like he was soaked in darkness. This guy wore a deformed bronze-colored metal mask. The mask had no holes for the mouth or nose. On it was a ridiculously large mouth almost entirely composed of interlocking sharp teeth with a bronze sheen.
This guy was born with the ability to communicate with the Dark Lord Sauron. When Sauron needed to issue complex or long-term commands, he would send such a Dark Emissary.
In understandable terms, a Dark Emissary was similar to a person who was born with the ability to be possessed by a Huang Daxian. In the movie, the one who took out Frodo's mithril shirt outside the gates of Mordor to打击 the Fellowship was a Dark Emissary. His voice was gloomy and magnetic, with a faint metallic clang. His body movements were always comically reminiscent of leeches and other soft-bodied creatures.
"Yes, that bastard Gandalf is up to his tricks again, using powers he shouldn't use." The Dark Emissary said concisely, "And that's why I'm here. I'm glad I didn't see you recklessly attacking, otherwise, those long-rotten Kings of Old would have inflicted heavy casualties on you."
"Kings of Old?" Reef frowned. "What the hell are those?"
The Dark Emissary pointed outside:
"Do you see those five statues surrounding the White Tree? Those are the Kings of Old. The tombs of the Gondorian royalty are behind them. Ever since Isildur said, 'I do not need a tomb, nor do I need to wait for decay in eternal slumber,' the past kings of Gondor have been cremated and enshrined in the tomb. Inside the tomb, loyal and capable knights who served in life guard the tomb. Their heroic spirits patrol the tomb."
"Um, to put it directly, Gandalf heard the angry cries of the heroic spirits in the tomb, so he used the blood of Boromir, a direct descendant of the Gondorian Steward, to allow the most powerful of the heroic spirits to be temporarily re-embodied in the five corpses, returning to the world. Their power is endless, they feel no pain, and they are proficient in ancient battle techniques lost thousands of years ago. Their lives are shared with the White Tree... To be blunt, they are terrifying bloody meat grinders. It's almost impossible for anyone or anything to avoid them and enter the gates of the White Tower."
Hearing the Dark Emissary's words, Bai Xiwen sighed. He placed Andúril on his lap and said helplessly:
"Any good news, sir?"
"Yes." The Dark Emissary said unhurriedly, "I should have arrived here yesterday morning to witness your brilliant battle to capture the sixth level of Minas Tirith, but the reason I was delayed was... I took the Dark Lord's will to the elite Uruk-hai force sent by Saruman, and then fought a frontal battle with Alvin's elves on the plains."
Hearing this news, Fang Senyan and the others breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that Noah Space C wasn't completely useless, arranging a frontal battle between two reinforcements seemed fair. But considering that one side were warriors and the other side were all elves, and the battlefield was a plain, it meant that the fearless and fast-running Uruk-hai could quickly rush to the elves' lines...
"Then why are you here alone?" Jax tried hard not to look at the low-key and majestic weapon in Bai Xiwen's hand, and said sullenly, "Although we're better off than Gandalf and his lot, what we still lack most is manpower."
"Gandalf and his lot won't have reinforcements anymore, so the elite Uruk-hai also paid a heavy price. The least injured among them also lost an eye, so I estimate they won't have enough time to come and contribute their strength." The Dark Emissary explained unhurriedly:
"The second piece of good news is that Gandalf's injuries worsened again after creating the five Kings of Old, so you don't have to consider his existence in the battle."
"Is there a third piece of good news?" Zi didn't like this yin and yang weirdo, so she said very impolitely.
The Dark Emissary nodded:
"I will be stationed here permanently as the Dark Lord Sauron's representative, so the small episodes that occurred before will end here (he gave Fang Senyan a meaningful look). The mysterious death of the Umbar pirate leaders will stop affecting them, and their combat power will increase to a certain extent. More importantly, I brought a dark magic amplification device. As long as it's not destroyed, then the Dark Fountain Hall won't be limited by the 1,000 believers. This means you can send everyone, including me, to be slaughtered by those five meat grinders without any worries."
"Are they really that powerful?" Ronnie, whose strength had greatly increased, naturally had increased confidence, and said suspiciously, "Will such perverted monsters appear?"
The Dark Emissary shrugged:
"If that's the case, then I don't mind you trying it out and then coming back to talk to me about this topic. Of course, provided you can come back alive."
The arrogant Ronnie didn't say anything. It wasn't that he suddenly became cultivated, but that the only person who could suppress him shook his head slightly. Fang Senyan looked at the Dark Emissary. He had a gut feeling that this guy could be trusted. So after everyone left, he found this guy and said:
"It seems that I have become a thorn in the side of the Light faction. They should have used a lot of shameless curses on me. Although these curses didn't take effect under the protection of Lord Sauron, there will always be one or two that succeed, like on my armor."
Fang Senyan showed the Dark Emissary his Bloody Brigadier General Armor. On the stats of this powerful equipment, it was clearly displayed "Slightly Damaged" and "Can Only Be Repaired to 90%." The price for this was that the Bloody Brigadier General Armor's stat C: Curse Aura and Divine Punishment Aura were both in a grayed-out state and failed to take effect.
The Dark Emissary actually stuck out his lizard-like tongue and licked the armor:
"Hmm, I didn't taste the dirty aura of the Light's divine power on it, but the Dark God Sauron is omnipotent. As long as you give some key things, then it's not impossible to repair it."
"Key things?"
"To be precise, Legolas' headband containing elven love, the seed of the White Tree possessing the sorrowful fate of the Gondorian royalty (carried by Faramir), and the uncoagulated blood of a hobbit carrying pure and lucky energy." The Dark Emissary said.
"You will get them." Fang Senyan said lightly, "Then I will try out the combat power of the Kings of Old with my companions. After I come back, we will talk about how to deal with these guys. Don't worry, I will definitely be able to come back alive."

The entire Holy Spring Square was the only place that could receive sunlight. The White Tree and the heroic spirits of the Kings of Gondor dispelled Sauron's dark divine power, so the sunlight made the white stones smoother and cleaner, and the green grass more lush. Orcs and trolls' combat power would drop sharply in the sunlight, so they could only use Umbar pirates as their main combat force.
The five Kings of Old were shrouded in sharp-lined armor. Seeing them, one couldn't help but think of extremely sharp weapons. The most prominent symbol of these tall and thin guys, who were generally over two meters tall, was the bird-wing-like decoration on their helmets. They were arranged in the shape of a pentagram, guarding the White Tree in the center. Around them were scattered some tragic and terrifying corpses. It seemed they were the unfortunate previous victims.
Whether contractors or plot characters had already tried it, when these five guys were currently stiff, a layer of protective shield would appear around their bodies, impossible to break. Only when someone approached to activate them would they seem to revive from this stiff petrified state. Of course, the person who activated them would be frantically chased by these monsters.
Reef, wielding the legendary shield, walked into the arena with Fang Senyan. Then Ronnie and Aziz also prepared themselves. They didn't expect to win in one battle, but they at least needed to collect some data in order to take some offensive. To put it bluntly, these five Kings of Old were actually the last line of defense. If they were broken, the people inside the White Tower would almost have their remaining fighting confidence and will destroyed, and victory would be just around the corner.
The light of the legendary shield slightly protected Reef's entire body. He stepped onto the grass, and immediately, one of the five Kings of Old moved!
