Chapter Final Chapter Two

no.03 Majini

The following is information currently known about the Las Plagas parasite:

Despite its recent discovery, this parasite, known as Las Plagas, has been buried under the castle of Lord Ramon Salazar for centuries.

This parasite infects human hosts and assimilates the nervous system of the infected. Infected humans lose their ability to think rationally and accept control from another Plaga (usually another infected person) called a control-type Plaga. Hosts lose their ability to think rationally, but retain a human level of intelligence such as understanding and communication. They are also able to use tools and cleverly deal with enemies in groups.

Leon S. Kennedy mentioned these infected humans he faced in his report. In his report, he referred to them as Ganado.

The existence of this Plaga has also been confirmed in this mission. It is not yet known how this parasite was discovered in Europe and spread to Africa. A bio-weapon dealer, Richard Owen, is wanted for questioning about the matter.

This information was obtained by the BSAA Alpha team at great personal risk. Their report indicates that someone obtained Plaga parasite samples from Europe, and after biochemical and genetic modification, created a more effective and dangerous bio-weapon.

This form of Plaga is defined by researchers as Plaga Type 2. This parasite has been proven many times in this African mission.

The most important characteristic of Type 2 infection is very different from the prototype.

The Plaga parasite found in Europe is injected into the human body in the form of eggs. They reach maturity in the host body before they can control the host's nervous system.

Type 2, on the other hand, infects directly in its mature state. It enters through the host's organs, usually forced into the target host's mouth.

This method usually causes severe tremors in the host's muscles and uncontrolled spasms in the body.

It is also worth noting that the original Plaga generally takes hours to days to assimilate the host, while Type 2 takes effect almost immediately. From this point of view alone, Type 2 is a significantly more effective weapon.

The Type 2 infection process has been witnessed by BSAA agents.

Type 2 takes over the host's nervous system, causing the loss of rational thinking ability, and the host begins to obey control. (However, in order to use them as weapons, those who control them do not need to have a control-type Plaga to do so.)

The host retains their intelligence and survival skills that they possessed before infection. This is the same as the original Plaga parasite.

It is speculated that in order to increase reproduction, the parasite will control the host to infect others in order to increase the population.

According to reports, Type 2 hosts are called Majini, which in the local language means "evil spirits."

Because of the existence of code-named Type 2, it can be inferred that there may be other higher forms (such as Type 3 or Type 4). However, there is currently no information to confirm this.

no.07 Ndipaya Tribe

The Ndipaya tribe lives in special wooden buildings in wetlands. Their advanced construction techniques are used to repair and maintain many of the world's damaged ruins and monuments.

This is the world's greatest understanding of the Ndipaya tribe.

But the Ndipaya people also retain a secret that they do not want outsiders to know: the ruins of the ancient Ndipaya kingdom are buried beneath their feet.

In ancient times, this land was ruled by the kings of the Ndipaya kingdom, and the ruins of the city beneath their feet were the royal city.

Of particular note is the way they choose their kings.

When the Ndipaya kingdom needed a new king, it was not through hereditary succession, but depended on his ability and performance in the ceremony. This ceremony used a plant that grows in the Sun Garden deep beneath the royal city.

This plant is considered by them to be the ladder to the sun.

This ladder to the sun is a poisonous plant with deadly effects. But some people are able to resist its toxicity.

The Ndipaya believe that if a person can overcome this poison, he is destined to be king.

(The Ndipaya still hold this ceremony once a year to appease the souls of their ancestors.)

Nevertheless, it is very rare to find someone who can resist such a poison, and the Ndipaya people legend that a person who is elected as king in this way can rule them for hundreds of years. However, whether this legend is true cannot be confirmed now.

What is known is that this once prosperous kingdom eventually declined and was abandoned by the Ndipaya people.

It is unknown why the Ndipaya abandoned their city and moved to the wetlands, but the Ndipaya still regard it as a sacred place and vow to protect it from being discovered by outsiders.

All Ndipaya men between the ages of 18 and 25 are required to defend the city for 2 years.

Thanks to their continuous efforts, the existence of this great city has not been discovered by the outside world.

However, an outsider discovered this mysterious city. In 1960, a company forcibly broke into the sacred city and found the plant they used for the ceremony.

The Ndipaya launched a fierce resistance to the invasion. The Ndipaya have a good reputation in peacetime, but when war breaks out, they are tenacious warriors, which is a basic quality that all Ndipaya possess.

Their strong physique is the best weapon in battle, and they use it to fight bravely, but they are completely overwhelmed by the enemy's technological advantage.

(During this period, many young Ndipaya people ate the plant in order to gain the ability to resist the invaders.)

In the end, the Ndipaya were forced to hand over the Sun Garden to the company.

But the Ndipaya have not given up hope that one day they will be able to recover their sacred land and restore it to its former glory.
