Chapter 20: RACE
THREE WEEKS.
It had been three weeks since Wonyoung asked Mr. Seo to look for An Baekya.
Yes, one might argue that looking for a child for a month was actually too long, especially in the age of modern technology.
But he didn’t even provide a picture for the private investigator.
Plus, I’m not 100% sure of the information I shared with Mr. Seo.
"Is the child still in Busan, sir?"
<"Indeed, Client-nim. Would you like to meet the child and check if he’s the An Baekya you’re looking for?">
"Yes, sir," Wonyoung said, a little too excitedly. "Please send me your exact location."

"SHOULD I call some Omegas here to keep us company?"
Yun Dujun shot Spencer Choi a cold look.
"Alright, I won’t," Spencer Choi said, laughing while raising his arms in surrender. "But aren’t you bored that only the two of us are here?"
By ’here,’ the CEO meant the private room of an exclusive club they were in.
The table had a good spread of different foods and snacks that went along with the variety of alcoholic drinks served.
But, yes, the private room was empty since only the two of them were there.
"We’re here for work," Yun Dujun reminded his boss sternly. "You said you were going to show me the list of candidates aiming to be my new manager."
Yes, Yun Dujun currently didn’t have a manager.
He fired his recent manager. After all, he found out that his previous manager had a hand in preventing him from finding out that Bae Wonyoung was already awake.
In short, his last manager was his mother’s spy.
"But you dragged me here instead of showing the list."
"Well, you looked pretty grim earlier. I thought you’d cheer up if I brought you here."
"You can’t be serious."
"Right. I know you never enjoyed going to places like this. You just happened to be the first person I saw when I got the urge to drink, so I dragged you here," Spencer Choi admitted shamelessly, laughing. "I didn’t expect you to come with me obediently, though. So, I assume you wanted a drink, too."
Yun Dujun just sipped his glass of scotch (on the rocks).
"What happened, my dear
Yun Duyun rolled his eyes after Spencer Choi addressed him as ’dongsaeng.’
To be fair, this man was a hyung to him before he became his boss.
Spencer Choi is the CEO of Hanbyeol Entertainment, and Hanbyeol Entertainment is a subsidiary company of Hosung Group— a huge conglomerate owned by Spencer Choi’s family.
Yes, Spencer Choi was a chaebol just like Lee Heeju.
I was raised with them despite being an illegitimate child.
"Did something happen with Bae Wonyoung?"
Yun Dujun frowned.
"Yep, it’s about Bae Wonyoung," Spencer Choi said while pouring whisky into his glass. "What happened?"
"My hoobae-nim wants a divorce, and he seems serious this time."
"You said Bae Wonyoung won’t divorce you because you have the upper hand in your complicated relationship."
Yun Dujun just frowned.
Spencer Choi then burst out laughing. "Dujun-ah, didn’t I already tell you? Bae Wonyoung is the type who gives up easily when things get hard."
"He said he’s afraid of my mother."
"You know what? That’s totally valid. I’m sorry to say this, but Aunt Chunja is unhinged. I would be scared too if I were Bae Wonyoung."
Yun Dujun just clicked his tongue.
"Hey, you’re making a big deal out of nothing," Spencer Choi said, patting Yun Dujun’s back. "Dujun-ah, if you need a partner to practice your role as a loving husband, then just date someone else. It’s already your 6th debut anniversary. Your fans won’t leave just because you get involved in a dating scandal."
For the record, Yun Dujun had never been involved in a dating scandal before.
He only had a strictly professional relationship with his co-stars.
"Dujun-ah, just divorce Bae Wonyoung and find a new partner."
"That idea crossed my mind already, but no. I can’t see myself practicing with someone else," Yun Dujun said while shaking his head. "It has to be Bae Wonyoung."
"Why does it have to be that kid?"
Yun Dujun couldn’t answer that question.
"I also asked you why it had to be Bae Wonyoung when your family gave you a long list of Omegas who could give you a child. But you still chose Bae Wonyoung, even though you knew your mother hates male Omegas. Why him when you could have chosen someone ’safer?’"
Again, Yun Dujun couldn’t answer.
It just has to be Bae Wonyoung.
Was that not enough reason?
From the moment Yun Dujun saw Bae Wonyoung acting on stage, he just knew that he was the perfect Omega to play the role of his husband, and eventually the role of the mother of his child.
"Dujun-ah, an Alpha’s obsession is scary."
"What does it have to do with our conversation?"
"As your hyung, I’ll give you a piece of advice," Spencer Choi said in a serious tone. "If it really has to be Bae Wonyoung, then instead of forcing him to stay with you, just steal the thing that will make him come to you on his own."
Oh.
That actually made a lot of sense.
"An Baekya," Yun Dujun said, clenching his hands tight. "I have to get to the kid first."
***
"DADDY, daddy. Wake up."
Hmm?
Yun Dujun woke up with a hangover...
... and Yun Yuhyun sitting on his stomach.
I feel sick...
It seemed like Yun Dujun drank a bit last night.
No thanks to Spencer Choi.
"Yuhyun-ah, let me get some more sleep."
"Daddy, you promised to go to the amusement park with me."
"Oh, did I?"
"Come on, Daddy," Yun Yuhyun whined, pulling Yun Dujun up. "Get up."
Argh.
Yun Dujun got up and grabbed Yun Yuhyun by the waist, and then he lifted his son and put him down on the bed.
He was about to tell the child to return to his room first, but his phone rang.
Han Myung?
The man was in charge of keeping an eye on Bae Wonyoung, so Yun Dujun picked up the call immediately.
"Yes?"
<"Sir, Bae Wonyoung-nim is in Busan right now to meet An Baekya.">
What the hell?
Yun Dujun immediately stood up, turning his back on Yun Yuhyun. "Get everything ready— we’re going to Busan now."
