Chapter 1297: Chapter 1297: It’s Best to Stay Tonight to Take Care of Him

Chang Qinghua breathed a sigh of relief.

Chang Danran still had to pick up Xiaoman from kindergarten, so she didn’t stay long. Seeing her sister so worried about Ji Qishu, she pulled her aside and said, “Even though the concussion is not severe, he still needs someone to take care of him tonight. I checked earlier, and he’ll need an IV until two or three in the morning. If you’re worried, it’s best to stay and look after him tonight.”

Ji Qishu lay on the hospital bed, listening to Chang Danran’s words and finding them particularly agreeable. This aunt was on point.

However, Ji Qishu, with his legs crossed, said, “Who needs her to stay and take care of me? Under what pretense should she stay to look after me?”

Chang Danran smiled but said nothing: “Alright, I’m leaving.”

Chang Qinghua escorted her sister to the door of the hospital room. After seeing her off into the distance, Chang Danran returned to the room, and they sat staring at each other.

“Why are you looking at me? Don’t you know to get me a glass of water?”

Chang Qinghua ignored him because there was already a glass of water at the bedside. She took out her phone to check the news, wanting to investigate whether the girl who rear-ended Ji Qishu was a gang member.

“Heartless shrew, won’t even get me a glass of water.”

Although Ji Qishu was mumbling complaints, his mood was particularly good because this woman, upon knowing he was injured, actually came to the hospital to take care of him,

Did the sun rise from the west?

He suddenly felt that getting into this accident was quite worth it!

Ji Qishu picked up the TV remote, turned on the wall-mounted TV in the VIP ward, selected a popular movie, and laid there watching it.

He was feeling very dizzy and wasn’t really suitable for watching a movie, but if there were no sounds in the ward, he couldn’t help but babble on.

To stop himself from being overly talkative, Ji Qishu treated the movie’s audio as background music and fell asleep as he listened.

Upon waking up, he found it was already 1 AM. Looking over, he saw only a small lamp was on at the bedside. A woman was reading a leisurely book by its light, her long hair hanging down, creating a mix of light and shadow that stirred an uncontrollable emotion within.

“You’re awake?”

“Yeah.” Ji Qishu woke up because he needed to pee, probably from too much IV fluid.

He turned over to get up. Chang Qinghua went to help him. At first, he didn’t want her assistance and was about to push her away, but then he draped his arm over her shoulder, looking all frail: “Why is the ground moving? I can’t stand firm.”

“It should be a concussion after-effect. The ground isn’t moving. Let me help you. How severe does it feel like it’s shaking?”

Ji Qishu said, “Everything is spinning. I can’t do it; I can’t walk.”

Chang Qinghua had experienced vertigo before, so she could empathize. Thus, she didn’t push Ji Qishu away when he leaned the majority of his weight on her.

Once they reached the washroom, Chang Qinghua said, “Hold onto the wall, I’ll step out.”

But Ji Qishu wouldn’t let go: “I’m going to fall; no, I’m going to fall…”

“Then what should I do? How do you use the bathroom with me here?”

Ji Qishu tossed back, “You’ve seen everything inside and out. Why so shy? You’re not some chaste young lady, acting all pure with me.”

Chang Qinghua wished she could kick him across the room!

Chang Qinghua turned away to help him: “Hurry up.”

“This isn’t something you can rush.”

“Aren’t there three urgent needs of a person?”

Ji Qishu scratched his nose: “In any case, this isn’t something that can be rushed… You staying here makes me nervous, which makes it even harder… even if I hurry, it’s no use…”

Chang Qinghua said, “I can call a urologist to come treat you.”
