Chapter 1288: Chapter 1288: Brother Ji, You Still Have Old Feelings for You

Ji Qishu was about to fire back a few quips, but the dial tone was already beeping in the phone, clearly Chang Qinghua had already hung up.

The manager of the five-star hotel, who had already packed the food, handed the takeaway bag to Ji Qishu nervously: “Mr. Ji, the takeout you wanted has been packed for you.”

Ji Qishu put away his phone, glanced at the nervous hotel manager, took the takeaway, and left directly.

On the way, someone called him to invite him for dinner that evening.

Ji Qishu sat in the car and said, “Buddy, another day, my ex-wife just called me complaining she has nothing to eat tonight, I’ll treat you another time.”

His friend said over the phone, “Haha, got it, got it. Didn’t expect Young Master Ji to be so sentimental, being so good to your ex-wife, making nationwide advertisements to save her when she was kidnapped, really cool.”

Ji Qishu said, “If she hadn’t called me crying for help, would I even look at her?”

His friend wisely didn’t continue the conversation, exchanged a few courtesies, and hung up the phone.

Ji Qishu drove his car to the apartment building of Chang Qinghua, just in time to see a takeaway delivery man about to go inside.

Ji Qishu thought for a moment, handed his takeaway to the delivery man, gave him twenty yuan, instructed him to deliver it to the specified floor, and then drove away.

Chang Qinghua found the takeaway quite odd; there was no delivery address on the packaging, how did the delivery guy manage to bring it?

But she didn’t care to delve into it further, and since she was hungry, she began to eat.

Almost full, her phone rang in her pocket. She answered it, and Ye Xingguang’s voice came through: “Teacher Chang, I’ve heard about your situation. How are you? I saw the news and was worried sick about you.”

“Xingguang, I’m fine, been home resting for a day, and I’m already rejuvenated.”

“That’s good to hear, Teacher Chang. I’ve opened a café, would you like to come by? It’s not officially open yet, only accessible internally.”

“Send me the address.”

“Sure thing.”

Once Ye Xingguang sent the address, Chang Qinghua glanced at it; it turned out to be in the city center, a prime location, apparently near Whitlock’s Corporate Building.

When Chang Qinghua arrived, there weren’t many people in the café. She pushed the door open and felt the décor was quite intriguing; even the murals were done by renowned artists, and the tables and chairs were elegant made of top-quality sandalwood.

Seeing Ye Xingguang waving to her, Chang Qinghua walked over: “What made you think of opening a café?”

Ye Xingguang laughed, “I hadn’t thought about it; yesterday my husband suddenly told me he set up a café beneath his company for me to be the owner, so I wouldn’t be bored and not know what to do all day.”

Chang Qinghua sat down: “The café is nice, but I bet it won’t break even.”

Ye Xingguang said, “Who cares, I’ve got plenty of money. I’ve hired a manager and some staff, just a nice place to gather with friends. Teacher Chang, if you’re ever tired from work, feel free to drop by here, let me give you a membership card.”

Chang Qinghua took it without hesitation, finding the music here quite pleasant and relaxing.

She sipped her coffee while watching the various pedestrians outside.

Ye Xingguang was here today with a mission; her family’s main man wanted her to indirectly probe Teacher Chang’s thoughts about Ji Qishu.

Ye Xingguang, full of envy, said, “Teacher Chang, yesterday Ji Qishu was searching for you worldwide, truly impressive. I never knew you were married before, Brother Ji definitely still has feelings for you.”
