Bai Qi came to the Super God world primarily to fulfill a promise to Karl. However, since he was here, Bai Qi wouldn't let this opportunity go to waste. He was determined to reap whatever benefits he could from this trip.
Therefore, a long time ago, he had already sent the Mimic Master and a few trusted subordinates to this world to set things up in advance. This Saint Covenant Bar was the Mimic Master's doing.
"How is the task I assigned you progressing?"
Before the Mimic Master departed, Bai Qi had given him a special magical device. He instructed the Mimic Master to install it as soon as a stronghold was established. Bai Qi hadn't revealed the device's specific purpose, but it didn't matter. For subordinates, there were some things they didn't need to know in detail; they just needed to follow orders.
"The device has been installed. It's located beneath the bar and has been operational for over two days."
Following this, the Mimic Master reported every single thing he had done and all the intelligence he had gathered since arriving in this world, without any concealment.
"Very good."
Bai Qi nodded in satisfaction as he listened to the Mimic Master's report. He then stood up and said, "Let's go and take a look. But before that, we need to deal with that little mouse who was eavesdropping."
As he spoke, the office door suddenly swung open. The woman who had been eavesdropping, still hunched over, wasn't quick enough and tumbled to the floor with a yelp.
"I didn't hear anything. I heard absolutely nothing."
Seeing their ferocious expressions, the woman panicked instantly. She scrambled to her feet, intending to flee out the door.
"Since you heard, you cannot leave alive."
The Mimic Master lunged forward, extending his right hand. A steel needle shot out from beneath his sleeve, piercing directly through the woman's head.
"My apologies, my lord. It was my oversight that led to this..."
Looking at the fallen woman, Bai Qi frowned slightly and said, "This place is different from our world. Gods and demons abound. We must act with more caution."
"You are correct, my lord. I have been reprimanded."
Just as the Mimic Master was preparing to deal with the woman's corpse, a colossal shadow suddenly covered the ground. The woman's body sank into the shadow and disappeared without a trace.
"My lord, what is this...?"
"Nothing. Just a pet I keep. Let's go, show me the way."
"Yes."
The Mimic Master quickly bowed his head and turned. He approached the desk, pulled out the second-to-last drawer, took out a book, then turned to the bookshelf beside him, removed the third book from the second row, and placed the book he was holding inside.
With a click.
The bookshelf in front of them split down the middle, revealing a hidden safe. Opening the safe, he found gold bars and stacks of documents.
The Mimic Master reached inside, pushed aside the gold bars on top, and gently pressed down three centimeters inside the safe. As he pressed, a silver needle popped out and pricked his hand. Immediately, a series of security measures sprang up beside the safe: fingerprint, iris scans, and more.
After a series of verifications were completed, the door leading downwards finally opened.
"My lord, please."
"Your security measures are quite comprehensive."
The two descended, finally arriving at the location where the device was installed.
Looking at the machine, which stood over two meters tall, Bai Qi's lips curved into a slight smile.
The machine resembled a virus in appearance, with a circular container on top, a long channel in the middle, and a thick pipe at the very bottom, plunging straight into the earth.
As the machine operated, small, earth-yellow crystalline particles, about the size of rice grains, were extracted from the ground. They were then channeled through the long passage in the middle and collected in the circular container at the top.
However, the efficiency was incredibly low. It took an average of five to six hours to extract a single grain. Even though it had been operating for over two days, the container only held a few scant crystals.
"My lord, what is being collected here?"
It was only natural for the Mimic Master to be curious, as he had never seen anything so miraculous before.
These earth-yellow crystals appeared to have physical substance and mass, but when they were drawn into the container above, they became as elusive as willow catkins in the wind or fish in the sea.
"Of course, if my lord does not wish to disclose..."
"There's no harm in telling you."
Bai Qi interrupted the Mimic Master and said, "You should know about the Void, shouldn't you?"
"Yes, my lord mentioned it when you sent me to this world."
"The reason our world is not invaded by the Void is due to the protection of the World Wall, also known as the Origin Wall. However, with the weakening of the main world, the Origin Wall has also begun to weaken."
Bai Qi paused for a few seconds before continuing, "I was inspired by Karl's actions. I wanted to emulate him by creating several breaches in the Origin Wall, allowing the main world to gradually accept the Void, and finally breaking it entirely, merging the main world into the Void."
"May I ask who Karl is?"
"Karl? He's a cunning strategist, a wily old fox. He's in this world, but in the distant冥河 star system, calling himself the God of Death."
The Mimic Master quickly said, "Someone who hides in the shadows cannot compare to you, my lord."
"Enough with the flattery. Karl's strategizing is indeed superior to mine, but his methods are too extreme, too radical. They might be suitable for this world, but perhaps not for the main world."
Initially, Bai Qi had intended to follow Karl's path: after the main world adapted to the Void, he would shatter its World Wall, causing it to completely merge with the Void and become a Void world.
The World Wall was like the shell of an egg. It was difficult to break from the outside, but much simpler from the inside. However, without the protection of the World Wall, the Origin Wall, the main world would become a place accessible to any external god at will.
If Bai Qi could grow into a formidable power as he envisioned, that would be one thing. But if he failed to meet Bai Qi's expectations, Bai Qi would be the one to bring about the destruction of the entire main world.
Even if Bai Qi managed to achieve his potential after undergoing trials, the main world, this delectable prize, would inevitably attract the covetous gazes of numerous external gods. They might be able to repel them once or twice, but with repeated attempts, mistakes were bound to happen.
Therefore, Bai Qi had to reconsider. It wasn't about being foolproof, but at least not leaving it as riddled with holes as before.
After much contemplation, Bai Qi conceived an idea: to preserve the Origin Wall while creating a gate within it. The size of the gate could be debated.
If external gods wished to enter, or if people from the main world wanted to leave, they would have to pass through this gate. This would make defense easier; all they would need to do is station heavy troops to guard this gate.
