Chapter 352 The Past of Wu

The officer had Nick Fury placed in solitary confinement. Before that, Nick Fury had informed Stark about the nuclear missile, and everything seemed to be going perfectly.

For Nick Fury at this moment, what he could do was done. All that remained was to wait in solitary confinement for the Avengers to save New York and for the order of his reinstatement.

However, he was unaware that there was a traitor within S.H.I.E.L.D. All his conversations with Tony Stark had been recorded and simultaneously transmitted to the ears of the sorceress standing on the rooftop of Stark Tower.

"I didn't expect that after so many years, humans are still so cruel."

It wasn't surprising that the sorceress would say this. When she was a child, her village was struck by a plague, and many people died, including her parents.

Already in great pain from losing her parents and relatives, the sorceress struggled to survive each day. Later, a man who called himself a sorcerer arrived in the village and was welcomed by everyone. He ate a large portion of the village's already scarce food, not even sparing a skin-and-bones old yellow ox.

After eating his fill, the sorcerer pointed at the young sorceress and said, "She is the root of all evil."

Without solving the village's plague, he left.

The sorcerer, well-fed and having spoken his piece, patted his backside and left. The sorceress, however, was devastated.

Because of the sorcerer's words, she became an object of hatred for everyone in the village. People would throw mud at her when she walked down the street. Even when she stayed at home, she was often cursed by angry villagers. After villagers died from the disease, their families would come to her, at best with harsh words, and at worst with fists and kicks.

Until one day, a down-on-his-luck dark energy sorcerer came to the village. Upon seeing the evil dark energy sorcerer, the villagers unceremoniously beat him and ruthlessly drove him away.

Perhaps out of pity, under the cover of night, the sorceress went outside the village and found the dejected dark energy sorcerer. She shared half of her meager food with him.

The dark energy sorcerer was moved to tears by receiving food. As a token of his gratitude, he gave the sorceress a book on cultivating dark energy magic and taught her the art every night, in exchange for food.

Although this arrangement further reduced her already scarce food supply, the sorceress found joy in learning dark energy magic. Her talent for magic even surpassed that of the dark energy sorcerer.

Until one day, a villager discovered their secret.

The villagers already viewed the sorceress as a bringer of disaster and bad luck. Now that she was secretly learning dark energy magic, it only solidified their belief.

Enraged, the villagers beat the sorceress severely and planned to burn her at the stake.

At her breaking point, the sorceress erupted completely, using her dark energy magic to slaughter the remaining villagers and then burning the entire village to ashes, thus severing all ties with her past self.

With nothing left to hold her back, the sorceress embarked on a new journey with the dark energy sorcerer. Along the way, she witnessed the malice, treachery, and deceit in human hearts. In comparison, demons seemed more honest.

Therefore, upon encountering the Ascending Dragon Cult, the sorceress joined without hesitation and, with her magical talent, rose to the position of one of the Twelve Apostles.

However, the higher her position, the clearer her vision became, and the more disappointed she grew with humanity.

Just like now, for their own interests, humans in high positions would not hesitate to strike against their own companions, eradicating entire cities of people.

"But this can be utilized."

With that thought, the sorceress placed two fingers on her ear and activated her remote magic communication. "Serpent, have you obtained the items? Return as soon as possible. There's something I need you to do."

As soon as she finished speaking, a small airship appeared above Stark Tower, and Loki, wielding a staff, leaped down from it.

"Mortal! Keep that thing away from me."

As he spoke, Loki swung his staff, and a magic bullet shot towards the sorceress.

"A trivial trick."

The sorceress merely waved her hand, and the magic bullet was extinguished less than half a meter from her. The resulting explosion, in fact, sent Loki tumbling.

"What are you waiting for? Attack!"

As the god of mischief, Loki would not foolishly engage in a one-on-one fight with the sorceress, especially after his experience with the Hulk.

At Loki's command, over a dozen fighter jets appeared in the sky, and Chitauri soldiers armed with laser weapons fired at the sorceress from all directions.

"Boring."

While the people of Asgard called themselves gods, they were fundamentally just aliens with strong genes who lived longer.

In terms of age, the sorceress was not necessarily younger than Loki. In terms of magic, with the amplification of the Holy Lord's power and her own years of learning and refinement, she was more than a match for Loki, who relied on trickery and petty schemes.

With just a glance, immense telekinetic force fell upon the surrounding Chitauri soldiers, crushing them and their aircraft into pulpy masses.

Destroying these grunts was not enough. The sorceress raised her hands, and a massive dragon's head phantom appeared before her. Then, a searing dragon's breath erupted, instantly engulfing Loki.

However, the next moment, Loki appeared behind the sorceress, his staff directly piercing her body.

"Earth sorceress, though I don't know who you are, you will now become my subordinate."

Seeing the staff lodged in the sorceress, Loki wore a victor's smile.

From their brief exchange, Loki had realized that this opponent was abnormally powerful. He didn't know why such a strong being would appear on a remote planet like Earth, but now, she belonged to him.

In Loki's eyes, no one could resist the control of the Mind Stone. Although he didn't understand why that mortal was unaffected earlier, this time, with the staff already embedded in her, there surely wouldn't be any more surprises.

But when Loki tried to withdraw his staff, he found that no matter how hard he pulled, the staff seemed welded to the sorceress's body.

Damn it, was this humiliation coming too quickly?

The sorceress's lips curled slightly, and a powerful telekinetic force spread outwards from her, directly blasting Loki, who was behind her, away.

Previously, it was due to their different systems. Loki, unfamiliar with Earth technology, hadn't struck Tony Stark's staff in the right place, thus failing to control him.

Now, failing to control the sorceress was not because she was so powerful as to resist the Mind Stone's control.

Upon closer inspection, the spot where the staff had pierced was slightly different.

Loki's illusions were indeed remarkable, a fact the sorceress had to admit. By the time she reacted, there was no time to dodge Loki's surprise attack from behind.

In her desperation, the sorceress took a bold action.
