Chapter 480 Cryo-Control

Just then, a black bat silhouette descended from the sky. Batman, who had followed Superman's trail, made his official appearance.

Batman was also aware of symbiotes. As soon as he landed, he took two button-sized devices from his utility belt and threw them at Carnage.

Upon activation, the two button-sized machines released a powerful electric current, administering a strong electrotherapy to Carnage.

That wasn't all; he then pulled out his sonic cannon and subjected Carnage to a barrage of sonic attacks.

Compared to the noise generated by clashing metal, Batman's sonic cannon was far more effective. Soon, unable to endure it any longer, Carnage automatically detached from Hal's body, voluntarily relinquishing control and re-parasitizing the still unconscious Diana.

Diana, already in a coma, was easily overpowered by Carnage once she was re-parasitized.

Batman attempted to repeat his tactic and drive Carnage away from Diana with his sonic cannon, but Carnage, now experienced, wouldn't allow Batman such an easy victory.

As soon as he raised his weapon, a shield flew towards him, knocking the sonic cannon from Batman's hand.

Without the interference of the sonic cannon, and with Diana as a powerful host, Carnage was now unstoppable. Moreover, the heroes hesitated to engage in close combat, fearing Carnage would seize the opportunity to parasitize them, fighting cautiously.

Hummm...

As the situation turned unfavorable for the superheroes, a massive shadow appeared in the sky. Looking up, they saw a colossal airborne carrier, emblazoned with an eagle on its black surface.

"S.H.I.E.L.D.?! They're here too?"

Although this world was a mashup, individuals integrated from different worlds often had little prior interaction. Just like now, Peter, a native of the Marvel universe, immediately recognized S.H.I.E.L.D.'s emblem, while most of the DC characters, except for Batman, were unfamiliar with S.H.I.E.L.D.

The arrival of the airborne carrier was just the beginning. Following suit, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in black uniforms descended from the carrier. A total of fifteen agents, fully armed, arrived in groups of five, each equipped with different weapons and gear.

The first group, unarmed, quickly deployed restraint devices. Five chains shot out from different directions, binding Carnage.

Seeing that the trapped Carnage remained unruly and was still rampaging, an electric current was channeled through the chains into Carnage, a form of punishment.

The second group then used their portable sonic backpacks to further weaken Carnage.

Finally, the third group used freeze guns to encase Carnage and the Diana within into an ice sculpture.

"Target neutralized. Prepare for extraction."

As the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents prepared to carry away the frozen Carnage, a gust of wind swept past them. The next moment, Carnage was gone.

"We say, you plan to just take our friend away like this? It wouldn't be right if you didn't say something."

Following the sound, they saw that the frozen Carnage had been taken by The Flash, who stood beside Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and Batman.

Seeing their target snatched, the agents became vigilant again, their dark muzzles pointed at the group.

Peter was about to step forward to mediate, but The Flash moved first, swiftly disarming the agents and leaving them with nothing but their underwear.

"What, still want to fight us? You're far from it."

Looking at The Flash's smug face, the agents were seething with anger. But now, clad only in briefs, were they supposed to pick up stones to throw at him?

Just as The Flash was gloating, a cold ray shot out from an unknown source, hitting his right leg and freezing it firmly to the ground.

The Flash's smile vanished.

He was no stranger to this type of attack. In his past in Central City, Captain Cold of the Rogues used the same method, and he had plenty of experience dealing with it. He never expected to be caught off guard today.

Hill, holding a freeze gun, emerged from a dark corner.

Seeing that his attacker was a beautiful woman, The Flash started to flirt, but the next moment, a cold ray whizzed past his head, turning the asphalt road behind him into ice.

This time, The Flash raised his hands in surrender, completely abandoning any thoughts of further flirtation.

Then, a helicopter flew out from the airborne carrier and slowly landed before them.

Nick Fury, the one-eyed director, and his capable assistant, Coulson, descended from the helicopter.

Approaching the Justice League, Nick Fury presented his identification and said, "Gentlemen, I am Director Nick Fury of the United States Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. I am now taking legal jurisdiction of this area."

"Strategic Homeland what division?"

It wasn't that Green Arrow was trying to cause trouble, but the name was just too long and convoluted for anyone to remember easily.

"Strategic Homeland... Never mind. You can also call us S.H.I.E.L.D."

Judging by Nick Fury's expression, he had encountered this situation with Green Arrow before. He sometimes wondered who the genius was who came up with such a difficult-to-remember and tongue-twisting name.

But this was not the time to discuss such matters.

Nick Fury glanced at his stripped agents and then at The Flash, whose right leg was frozen, and asked, "Did you do this? To my subordinates."

"Yes, but your subordinates also shot at me, so we're even."

Expecting Nick Fury to be there to reprimand him, The Flash was surprised when Fury, unconcerned, said, "Have you considered joining S.H.I.E.L.D.? With your abilities, you could contribute greatly to the country, and I'd be happy to provide you with that platform."

"Uh..." The Flash looked at Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and especially Batman beside him, and quickly shook his head, declining, "No, thank you. I've already joined the Justice League and I quite like the atmosphere here. I have no intention of switching allegiances."

"Is that so? What a shame."

He then turned and began directing the agents who had arrived with him.

"Hey, hey, hey, hurry up, everyone. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can get back for dinner."

Just as the agents were about to load the frozen Carnage onto the helicopter, a green energy wall blocked their path.

It was Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, who intervened.

"What do you mean by this?"

Before the Justice League members could respond, Nick Fury asked first, "I am acting on behalf of the government. Are your actions hindering law enforcement?"

"We won't let you take our friend."

The Flash spoke quickly. As soon as Nick Fury finished speaking, The Flash immediately retorted, unaware that his words played right into Nick Fury's hands.
