"Enemy attack! We're under enemy attack!"
"Report, more than half of our warships have been destroyed. What should we do?"
"Trash, a bunch of trash."
On the flagship, looking at the chaotic main control room, Gray Beetle, standing on high ground as the strongest warrior of the Qirui race, was filled with disdain.
"Enough, everyone, listen to my command!"
As Gray Beetle spoke, the chaotic main control room immediately fell silent.
"Organize all forces to counterattack, and at the same time, find the location of their main ship. I want to carry out a decapitation strike. As long as their head is removed, the rest will be nothing to fear."
The Qirui people present had all witnessed Gray Beetle's strength. Driven by their admiration for the strong, everyone present accepted Gray Beetle's command. After all, from the moment they were attacked, all their communication methods had failed, and they couldn't contact Earth's ambassador.
It was strange. The other party clearly possessed such powerful firepower and advanced technological means, superior to the Qirui race in all aspects. Yet, they seemed completely unguarded against the Qirui race's probing, and their main ship's location was easily discovered.
But the situation was dire, and there was no time for them to ponder. The enemy's fleet was bombarding them, and warships were falling every moment. If they didn't act soon, their warships would likely be wiped out before long.
"Sir, we have located the enemy's main ship."
"Good," Gray Beetle said with a smirk. "Immediately initiate spatial jump. You, come with me to confront their commander."
Beside Gray Beetle stood a green beetle warrior. However, compared to the warlike Gray Beetle, Green Beetle was much calmer.
Soon, the fully charged ship began its spatial jump. Although performing a spatial jump in a battlefield with heavy bombardment carried considerable risk, they succeeded.
Looking at the enemy's main ship, several times larger than their own ship, everyone in the main control room swallowed hard. Gray Beetle, on the other hand, showed a desire for conquest upon seeing the massive enemy flagship.
"Let's go."
With the power of their sacred armor, Gray Beetle and Green Beetle could move freely in space for short distances. After leaving their ship, they were like two ants crawling on an elephant's leg, easily reaching the surface of the main ship.
Gray Beetle attempted to create an opening on the surface of the main ship, but after a long while, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't even leave a scratch.
"What is this thing made of? It's so sturdy."
As he spoke, Gray Beetle saw Green Beetle standing beside him, appearing unfazed. He instantly felt a surge of annoyance, thinking, 'I've been working so hard, and you're just watching the show.'
Just as he was about to scold, Gray Beetle suddenly remembered something, and the words he was about to utter were swallowed back. He then changed his tune and said, "This thing shouldn't be able to stop you, right? You go in first and scout the situation. If possible, open the hatch from the inside. Remember, don't be reckless and rush ahead. Wait for me to go in before making any decisions."
Although Gray Beetle seemed to be looking out for Green Beetle, fearing he would be at a disadvantage fighting the enemy alone, anyone who knew him even slightly understood his nature: brutal, merciless, and prone to reckless advances.
He likely didn't want Green Beetle to engage the enemy not because he feared him getting hurt, but because he was afraid Green Beetle would snatch the credit from him.
Facing Gray Beetle's command, Green Beetle knew he had no choice but to obey. He was very displeased with Gray Beetle's arrogant demeanor but had to endure it to avoid future trouble.
Green Beetle's body gradually became translucent, and he slowly phased through the hard shell of the main ship, entering the interior.
Although Green Beetle was usually quiet, like a block of wood, he was very thorough and meticulous when carrying out tasks.
He first poked his head out, looked around, and seeing no demons, his body followed.
However, upon entering the main ship, Green Beetle suddenly felt a slight headache, as if being pricked by a needle. But this pain was fleeting.
With time being of the essence, and thinking it was a reaction due to his body's rejection of the sacred armor, Green Beetle didn't dwell on it and immediately began his exploration.
Little did Green Beetle know that he had been discovered the moment he entered the main ship. However, for some reason, no immediate action was taken against him.
At this moment, Green Beetle was still unaware, believing his actions were completely covert.
After searching through the long corridors of the main ship, perhaps due to his unfamiliarity with the technology used, he was like a headless fly, darting randomly through the endless corridors.
He had hoped to capture a lone demon and read its memories to understand the ship, but he hadn't encountered a single demon along the way.
"What's going on?"
Just as Green Beetle was lost in deep confusion, footsteps suddenly echoed from ahead.
Hearing the sound, Green Beetle quickly hid behind a nearby wall.
As the footsteps grew closer, a large, burly demon walked alone down the long corridor.
Seeing the demon, Green Beetle's eyes lit up.
It was as if his wish had come true. After he read the memories in its mind, this main ship would hold no secrets for him.
After the demon passed Green Beetle's hiding spot, Green Beetle, with quick reflexes, leaped onto the demon's back. He clasped its large head with both hands, his eyes emitting white light, and his consciousness entered the demon's mental world.
Just as Green Beetle was gloating about the imminent retrieval of the demon's memories, the scene he witnessed next made him unable to laugh any longer.
Everywhere he looked was a sea of fire, and the scorching flames burned Green Beetle's skin.
The moment he saw the inferno, Green Beetle panicked completely.
The ability to phase through walls and enter the mental world of living beings to read their memories.
Green Beetle's true identity was self-evident: he was undoubtedly a Martian. Besides the two abilities mentioned above, the most distinctive characteristic of Martians was their mimicry. They could, at will, mimic any creature they saw, either partially or entirely.
Of course, they could also mimic demons if they wished, but this was all dependent on having seen them firsthand.
In addition to their strengths, Martians had a significant weakness: they feared fire.
Despite the word "fire" in their name, they had no resistance to it.
The simplest way to deal with a Martian was to ignite flames with flammable materials like gasoline and trap them within. Soon, the Martian would be trapped and die.
Now, facing the raging inferno, even with the protection of his sacred armor, Green Beetle felt utterly powerless, his body going limp.
"No, I can't. I need to get out of here quickly."
