The SWAT team's confident pronouncements were met with a dismissive grunt from Father. "Those things can't handle the Shadowkhan," he stated, "Only magic can fight magic."
Upon arriving at Section 13, Tohru saw the waiting Captain Black.
"What's going on? Didn't SHIELD say they were fully prepared? How were the Enforcers stolen?"
Captain Black calmed Tohru's agitated emotions. "Tohru, my friend, it has happened. You need to calm down."
"But I can't! If all the Enforcers are gone, the Dark One will be resurrected, and the world will be in grave danger!"
"I know, I know. But you need to calm down so we can discuss our next steps."
Under Captain Black's persistent counsel, Tohru's emotions finally stabilized.
Nearby, Jade tugged at Captain Black's sleeve. "Captain Black, how exactly were the Enforcers taken from SHIELD?"
Black recounted the entire ordeal to Tohru's family, even producing surveillance footage from the area.
It had indeed been a brutal battle. Initially, the agents had held an advantage with their enchanted weapons. However, facing the relentless onslaught of the Shadowkhan, more and more agents fell. Finally, the Enforcers were taken by the hunter, Kraven, who was mixed in among the Shadowkhan.
Just then, Captain Black's phone rang. After answering, his expression turned grave.
After a few brief replies, he hung up and addressed Tohru. "The people from Section 12 have made their move."
Tohru had a rough idea of what Black meant by "their move."
Jade, having finally squeezed her way in, asked again, "Move? What move?"
"The person in charge of Section 12, upon learning the Enforcers were stolen, immediately assembled a large number of agents and, with the cooperation of the local police, launched a raid on the Dark Hand headquarters."
"Aiya!"
Father angrily scratched his head. "You can't defeat demons with sheer numbers. Only magic can fight magic!"
Tohru understood the gravity of the situation. "Arrange a helicopter for me. We need to go to the Dark Hand headquarters now. I hope it's not too late, or else..."
Before Tohru could finish, Father tapped him on the head. "Are you crazy? To fight the Dark One, you need the corresponding magic."
"But we don't have time, Father! If we don't act fast, many people will meet a terrible fate."
"Their deaths are your fault... Never mind. If you insist on going, Father won't stop you. But Father wants you to wear the armor of the gods that he just brought back. The divine power on it might be effective against demons."
Time rewinded half an hour prior.
Kraven, having secured the Enforcers, quickly retreated from the battlefield and headed to the rooftop. He boarded a pre-arranged helicopter and flew directly to the Dark Hand headquarters.
Upon arrival, Bai Qi and his subordinates had been waiting for a long time, along with Shendu's lieutenants, Katlyn, Screaming, and Afu, and several of Valmont's men.
The Enigmatic Master had been dispatched by Bai Qi on another mission. Bruce was occupied with D'u't's affairs concerning the control of the Osborn Group, making it unsuitable for him to appear alongside the great demon Bai Qi. After a selection process, only the Frostbite Assassin Katlyn, Screaming, and Black Tiger Afu remained by Bai Qi's side.
On the stone statue, excluding the Rooster and Monkey Enforcers, the remaining ten Enforcers were in place.
To save time, Kraven didn't wait for the helicopter to land and jumped directly into the office through the window.
"Kraven, my loyal servant, you have returned."
At this point, Bai Qi's soul had already returned to the stone statue. The body he had previously occupied had been sent away.
However, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, a body that had housed a demon's soul had already become extraordinary, though this little boy was not yet aware of it.
"Something's wrong! It's the police, and the army! They've surrounded the building!"
The office door suddenly burst open, and a thug, tumbling and scrambling, rushed in shouting. Sudan Fiction Network.
It was no wonder he reacted so strongly. As a common thug, his usual encounters involved petty theft and extortion. The highest level of law enforcement he had dealt with was the beat cop. The special forces and army surrounding the building now were beyond his comprehension.
"Alright, I understand."
After having Drago escort the thug out, Valmont turned to Shendu. "Shendu, whatever you plan to do, please hurry. We're running out of time."
The stone statue's eyes glowed crimson. "Valmont, haven't you always wanted to experience supernatural power? Today, I'm in a good mood, so I'll give you that chance."
Valmont's eyebrows shot up. He felt a flicker of confusion. Experience supernatural power? Had he ever said anything like that before?
Unfortunately, Bai Qi didn't give Valmont a chance to retort. As he looked up, a ninja forced a mask onto his face.
This was the mask of Bat-Man of the Night Bat Group. Upon contact with Valmont, the mask came alive and rapidly adhered to his face.
After merging with the mask, Valmont's first sensation was an inexhaustible surge of power within him, and a deepening of the darkness hidden in his heart.
"Go, Valmont. Give those who have invaded a welcome gift."
Valmont nodded and disappeared into the shadows behind them.
Watching Valmont vanish into the darkness, Screaming couldn't resist teasing Afu. "Aren't you envious? Of that kind of power."
Similar to the Enigmatic Master's objective, Afu followed Bai Qi for the very purpose of gaining greater strength.
Facing Screaming's teasing, Afu said disdainfully, "It's just a crooked path. External power is not the strength I seek."
Meanwhile, the thugs of the Dark Hand, seeing a large contingent of agents and police surrounding the Dark Hand headquarters, had lost all will to resist and scattered like birds and beasts, showcasing the epitome of brotherhood within the gang.
Quinn, who was directing the operation, watched the fleeing thugs with no intention of apprehending them.
In her eyes, her assembly of a large force was not merely to dismantle a long-standing gang in New York. Her true target was the demon at the top. If she could capture him, her promotion and salary increase, and her ascent to the pinnacle of her career would no longer be a distant dream.
Although Captain Black had repeatedly warned Quinn not to act rashly and to wait for his arrival so they could act together, Quinn saw his warnings as an attempt to steal her credit. Demons, too, were flesh and blood; they would fall under absolute firepower.
Seeing that the time was right, Quinn waved her hand. "Assault team, advance!"
A mixed assault team of twenty-five SWAT officers and soldiers stepped forward, blasting open the building's entrance. The group then stormed into the building in a mighty surge.
However, it wasn't long before screams of agony from the soldiers echoed from within the building.
Aware that something had gone wrong, Quinn dared not delay and quickly ordered the main force to provide support.
When Quinn led the main force into the building, the scene before her shocked her to the core.
A man in a green suit, wearing a yellow mask, stood in the center of the lobby, surrounded by a large number of black, bat-winged, humanoid creatures.
Whether they were special agents or soldiers, they were all utterly defenseless against these humanoid creatures. The assault team previously dispatched now lay piled in the corner like refuse, their fates uncertain.
