Chapter 11 The Mastermind

Chen Long had been fighting A Fen in the water for a while. As soon as he got ashore, he saw the aquarium in disarray, then a dust-covered Xiao Yu, holding the unconscious Bai Qi, calling out to him loudly.

Seeing the unconscious Bai Qi, Chen Long's mind went blank. He rushed to Xiao Yu and reprimanded her with anger, "Didn't I tell you to stay in a safe place?"

Facing Chen Long's scolding, Xiao Yu, who usually had a lot of words to respond, was speechless this time.

"Forget it, I'll deal with you later."

Seeing that Bai Qi was unconscious, it was too late to say anything. He picked up the unconscious Bai Qi and rushed out of the aquarium. Talismans or anything else seemed insignificant in the face of life.

The guy in the air was still throwing grenades, enjoying the explosions and the terrified screams of tourists.

"Enough, demon. Stop playing around and bring me what I want."

The demon's interest in playing was greatly diminished by the man on the electronic watch. "Okay, Mr. Osborn."

The demon swooped down from the air, knocking over Tuer on the ground, and then two grappling hooks extended from the aircraft, hooking onto the turtle's shell on both sides.

The aircraft accelerated, and with the turtle, escaped the crime scene through the hole in the ceiling.

Looking at the spot where the demon disappeared, Lasa said, "What do we do now? We didn't get the turtle or the talisman."

"Forget the turtle. If we wait any longer, we'll be surrounded by the police."

A Fen urged everyone to leave quickly. After all, they weren't good people and had criminal records. If the police came, they might be blamed for blowing up the aquarium.

The demon, escaping from the aquarium with the turtle, quickly flew through the air and dived into a sparsely populated alley.

A van was parked in the alley.

Seeing the demon arrive with the turtle, four people got out of the car and worked together to move the turtle into the car. During the transfer, they noticed the Rabbit Talisman on the turtle's back, but the four of them thought it was just a decoration and didn't pay attention.

After the van drove out of the alley, it drove erratically on the road for a while before arriving at a factory owned by Osborn.

There were no security guards outside the factory. The tall concrete walls, combined with the surveillance cameras, prevented anyone from entering the factory.

When the surveillance camera at the entrance detected the approaching van, the factory gate opened automatically.

The van drove deep into the factory, finally stopping next to a workshop.

After stopping the car, the four people carried the turtle out of the car.

A man in a suit stood in front of the workshop. This man was the owner of the factory, the chairman of Osborn Industries, Norman Osborn.

Norman looked at the turtle in front of him and said with a smile, "Send the item to our doctor."

With that, he turned and walked into the workshop.

The four men exchanged glances, lifted the turtle, and followed Norman into the workshop.

As they entered the workshop, a figure appeared on the roof of the workshop. Dressed in a red and blue form-fitting suit, with a spider logo on his chest and back, wasn't this our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?

Spider-Man, after learning that the demon had attacked the aquarium and stolen a turtle from inside, felt that something was amiss and immediately began to investigate. He soon followed the clues and found the van carrying the turtle, and then followed the van to this place.

It was only to avoid the cameras outside that made Spider-Man a step behind.

This was a car parts processing workshop. On the surface, it looked no different from other factory workshops.

As Norman operated a control lever on a machine tool, the hidden mechanism in the workshop was revealed.

Norman pulled a lever on a machine tool. The machine tool did not start. Instead, a password lock appeared next to the lever. After entering the password and completing the iris scan, the machine tool split in the middle, revealing a secret passage leading underground.

Norman entered the secret passage first, followed closely by the four people carrying the turtle.

After passing through the secret passage, Norman arrived at a secret laboratory located underground. The laboratory was decorated in black and green. Each container, one person tall, contained various bizarre and deformed creatures.

The owner of this underground laboratory was Doctor Octopus, who was working on a computer with four mechanical tentacles.

Norman was not polite to Doctor Octopus.

"Doctor Octopus, I have spent a lot of money and time on your experiments, but so far, you have not produced anything satisfactory, not even a sample."

"Science requires time and countless experiments. You wouldn't want me to give you something with quality issues, would you?"

Doctor Octopus replied calmly to Norman's complaint, his hands never stopping their work.

"That's true, but my patience is limited. You'd better produce what I want before my patience runs out, or I'll take back the laboratory and funding you currently possess."

Norman's threat caused Doctor Octopus's working tentacles to pause for a second, after which Doctor Octopus said, "Did you bring me what I need?"

Norman moved aside, revealing the "thing you need" behind him.

Seeing that Doctor Octopus still had no intention of turning around, the proud Norman frowned. "I'm leaving. I'm not like you, fiddling with those little things in petri dishes all day."

Norman turned to leave but was blocked by a mechanical tentacle.

Doctor Octopus pressed a button, and the screen switched to an image of the outside of the workshop. Clearly visible in the image was Spider-Man squatting on the roof.

"Spider-Man!? What is he doing here?"

Seeing Spider-Man, Norman was startled, his expression becoming complex.

Norman Osborn had mixed feelings for Spider-Man, hating him for repeatedly disrupting the company's good deeds, but loving his superpowers, his superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes. If he could decipher and develop them, and create an army of spiders to sell to the military, the company would surely make a fortune.

Unfortunately, for so long, not only had he failed to decipher the secret of Spider-Man's superpowers, but he didn't even know who was under the mask, which greatly angered the competitive Norman.

Spider-Man's appearance here was obviously not a good thing. Norman knew that with Spider-Man's methods, it would be very troublesome if he found out that he was involved in this matter.

"I advise you to leave through the back door."

"I know without you telling me."

Staring at Norman's back, a red light flashed in Doctor Octopus's eyes. "It won't be long, Norman, before you pay the price for your arrogance. And then, you will repay everything you owe me."

Doctor Octopus turned to the four men and said, "Go, go out and stop Spider-Man, knock him out, and bring him here."

Upon hearing Doctor Octopus's command, the four men simultaneously took off their hoods, revealing their extraordinary faces.

One of the four had two rows of fish-like gills on his neck, another was covered in lizard-like scales, and the remaining two were relatively normal, at least their appearances did not reveal any major abnormalities.

These four men shared a common identity: mutants.

After the four left the laboratory, Doctor Octopus pressed the button again, and half of the screen displayed a series of photos, all of which featured Spider-Man as the subject.

"Spider-Man, soon your secrets will be mine."
