Chapter 1580: Chapter 1580: Why Must You Oppose Me
“Diwu Zexuan…”
The person under the quilt wriggled like a little caterpillar, murmuring something unconsciously, causing the man to freeze instantly.
Those enchanting eyes gleamed with a deeply unsettling light.
In the darkness, they were like the eyes of an eagle, radiating a faint glow.
He lowered his gaze, staring intently at her face.
He couldn’t make out her expression, but he knew her eyes were shut.
After murmuring, she pulled the quilt closer again and resumed sleeping.
Her cheek even rubbed against the pillow, as if feeling uncomfortable.
How much trust does it take for her to call his name in her dreams and still sleep so soundly afterward?
Diwu Zexuan didn’t know.
His tall figure turned away, leaving the bed without switching on the light.
With practiced ease, he opened the drawer and fished out a seldom-touched pack of cigarettes and a lighter, then stepped onto the balcony.
The city lights were dazzling. Standing on the top-floor balcony, overlooking the entire city nightscape, it was a breathtaking view.
Raising his head, he could see a sky full of stars.
If Rui Hui saw this, she would definitely scream and jump around in excitement.
Rui Hui…
He realized he increasingly enjoyed thinking about this fool.
Diwu Zexuan lit a cigarette, holding it between his fingers without rushing to smoke it.
Propping his hands against the railing, he gazed into the distance.
In front of him, the flickering lights shimmered, and silhouettes moved faintly in the distance.
Wisps of smoke curled upward from his hand, blending into his strikingly handsome features, adding an air of unfathomable haze.
He raised his hand slowly, bringing the cigarette to his lips and taking a deep drag.
Turning around, he looked at the woman sleeping soundly on his bed.
This was the first time he had let a woman remain on his bed, and even more surprising to himself, he couldn’t bear to wake her just because of a single word she had mumbled.
Diwu Zexuan wasn’t sure if he was losing his mind, but the moment he heard her murmur his name, his heart pounded so wildly it felt like it might break out of his chest.
The burning cigarette stung his fingers, snapping him back to his senses. He quickly dropped it to the ground and extinguished it with his foot.
Pulling out another cigarette, he lit it again.
He didn’t know how long he stood on the balcony until he finally calmed down, turned around, and went back inside the room.
He lay back into bed.
This time, he didn’t try to provoke Rui Hui anymore. As if sensing the warmth of his body, Rui Hui naturally burrowed into his arms.
She treated him like her large body pillow, clinging tightly and comfortably wrapping herself around him.
Diwu Zexuan’s silver eyes flickered faintly in the dark, radiating a hint of enigmatic light. Looking at the woman who was completely unguarded against him, his teeth clenched hard.
He tried several times but couldn’t manage to pry Rui Hui off of him.
“Don’t steal my pillow…”
Rui Hui’s hands circled his neck. Upon feeling someone trying to tug her arms away, she only hugged him tighter.
“Rui Hui Adolf, let go of me. If you keep hugging me this tight, I can’t guarantee you’ll sleep peacefully!” Diwu Zexuan growled in a low, frustrated voice.
“Hug hug…”
Rui Hui whimpered like a wronged child, still fixated on her ‘pillow.’
Diwu Zexuan’s warning had no effect. On the contrary, it seemed to trigger an instinct that made her hold on even tighter.
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself.
Closing his eyes, he resolved to think of nothing about the person beside him.
He’d just pretend he really was a pillow—let her hug to her heart’s content!
“Diwu Zexuan, you annoying jerk, why do you always have to go against me… I hate you…”
“…”
Diwu Zexuan’s arms tightened around her, causing Rui Hui to wriggle slightly, pouting uncomfortably.
He lowered his gaze, staring at her drowsy, muddled sleeping face, unsure of how to describe the emotions roiling in his heart.
