Chapter 1 The Journey of Adventure

A bus full of passengers was driving on the road. The streetlights by the roadside, as if by silent agreement, extinguished simultaneously, plunging the outside into darkness.

Fortunately, the two headlights at the front of the bus were still working diligently, illuminating the path ahead.

A thin plume of smoke began to creep from beneath the bus. Due to the dim light, no one noticed it.

The passengers were drowsy, save for a girl in the last row. Though young, her eyes were filled with spirit and vitality, and she saw every abnormal phenomenon.

The smoke seemed alive, slowly creeping upwards. As the bus entered a brightly lit tunnel, the smoke accelerated, enveloping the entire vehicle.

At that very instant, the tunnel lights and all the lights inside and outside the bus went out simultaneously. A sharp, needle-like pain shot through the heads of all the passengers.

The pain was so intense that it instantly roused them from their stupor.

Just then, the attendant sitting beside the driver spoke. Her voice, unlike its initial clear tone, had become incredibly hoarse.

"I heard that at midnight, a lucky bus is randomly chosen to take all its passengers on an adventurous journey."

As she said this, the attendant's voice changed, sounding incredibly excited. "Congratulations, my dear passengers, you are the luckiest tonight!"

The passengers on the bus were bewildered. The pain had subsided, and they had also noticed the strangeness of their surroundings.

The entire bus was plunged in darkness, yet they could clearly sense that it was still traveling normally.

This eerie environment, coupled with the strange attendant, made several passengers restless.

Suddenly, one passenger spoke up, "What nonsense are you spouting? Why aren't the lights on!"

The attendant seemed to be reminded, cackling with a sharp voice. She then snapped her fingers, and all the lights inside and outside the bus were illuminated.

Only then did everyone see the reality.

The beautiful and elegant attendant, who had been wearing her uniform, was gone. In her place was a female ghost with contorted limbs, a twisted face, and a body covered in dried blood!

A passenger in the first row yelped in shock, scrambling up and stumbling backward.

Following suit, all the passengers erupted into chaos, jostling and screaming within the confines of the tightly shut cabin.

The scene was like catfish at the bottom of a latrine.

In stark contrast to them, the girl by the window remained unaffected, her space untouched for some unknown reason. She appeared as indifferent and natural as before.

The passengers' terrified reactions seemed to amuse the female ghost attendant. Her eerie laughter filled the entire carriage, sending shivers down everyone's spines and making their hair stand on end!

After her laughter subsided, the passengers remained huddled together.

This displeased the female ghost attendant.

Her body coiled around a nearby handrail like a serpent that had just finished a meal. With a lazy yet piercing gaze, she scanned all the passengers with fearful expressions.

"Now, please return to your seats. I'm giving you one minute. Those who disobey will face the consequences!"

At these words, everyone grew uneasy, glancing at each other.

Not a single person moved. The attendant then crawled from the front of the bus to the back, her tongue long, red, and dripping with foul-smelling liquid.

The passengers dared not move, huddled together like frightened chicks.

"Thirty seconds left," the female ghost attendant flicked her tongue, clearly relishing the malicious act of frightening the passengers.

"Twenty seconds left."

"Ten seconds left."

The female ghost attendant's patience was surprisingly good. She actually began to count down, her voice growing deeper with each passing second.

Some people couldn't stand it any longer and slowly shuffled back to their seats.

By the time the countdown ended, about half the passengers were back in their seats. The other half, too terrified by the countdown, had legs that felt weak and hadn't managed to sit down yet.

The female ghost attendant paid them no mind. She directly extended her long tongue, which shot out like a sharp blade, piercing the heart of a passenger. Blood splattered everywhere, causing the passenger to scream again.

Because someone had died on the bus, the vehicle lurched to a sudden, violent halt, throwing everyone forward.

After the bus stopped, all the windows began to rattle. The passengers looked out to see countless specters reaching out, frantically pounding on the glass. The sound transmitted into the carriage.

The female ghost dismounted from the handrail, grabbed the corpse by one leg, and the bus door creaked open. With a sinister smile at the passengers, she tossed the corpse out like feeding a dog.

As the body hit the ground, it immediately attracted the surrounding specters. They swarmed forward, and blood and flesh flew everywhere.

When they dispersed, only a pinkish skeleton remained.

The bus door closed again. The attendant stood at the front, and with a single glance, the remaining passengers scrambled back to their seats, even if it meant crawling.

The attendant was very pleased. Pointing to the specters outside, she said, "On this bus, the driver and I have absolute authority. You don't have to listen, but that out there is your fate!"

Everyone looked in the direction she pointed. The corpse that had been killed and discarded outside by the female ghost had now transformed into a new specter, joining the others in their frantic attempts to break into the carriage for a feast.

Those sitting near the windows were terrified, squeezing themselves as far away as possible, as if the ghostly hands would reach out and touch their hair at any moment.

Having dealt with the corpse on the bus, and with the passengers now seemingly very cooperative, the driver spoke, "Please fasten your seatbelts, Bus 444 will depart shortly. The next stop is Cemetery Station."

The passengers dared not speak, their hands trembling as they fumbled with their seatbelts.

The four passengers in the front row were the most anxious. One of them was sweating profusely; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't concentrate on fastening his seatbelt.

Just then, a pair of slender, pale hands reached to his waist and fastened his seatbelt for him.

A stark contrast to before, the attendant, despite her ghostly appearance, was now diligently serving the passengers.

"Dear passenger, please tell me if you need anything."

Perhaps it was the attendant's sincere attitude, but this passenger truly voiced his request.

He stammered, his voice filled with extreme humility, "Excuse me, can I get off the bus?"

The attendant initially covered her mouth in surprise and asked uncertainly, "Are you sure? We haven't reached a stop yet. Do you really want to get off now?"

The passenger nodded weakly and tentatively asked again, "Can I?"

The attendant smiled. "Of course you can."
